Hey guys,
I've been on the fence on whether or not to get a charge for my 360 controller. So far I'm still using the same batteries that I got with the system, so I think they are lasting a good while (thought I haven't played a ton) I had planned on using some of my old rechargeable batteries I had laying around, but apparantly they are older than I thought as when I tried them in my wiimotes they only have about a half charge right after getting charged.
So, I was between getting new rechargeable batteries, using regular batteries or getting a charging station for the 360. I don't really want the play and charge because it isn't that important to me to be able to play while I charge and I don't really like the idea of charging via the system. So I was out shopping today and found the Nyko Charge Station for $15, thinking that was a pretty good deal, I picked one up. However, I'm reading reviews online and for the most part, people hate the thing (oddly the black one gets pretty good reviews however)
From my research for the Wii, the Nyko charger's generally get pretty good reviews, but I was just curious if I should look elsewhere for my 360 charge.
Suggestions?
Thanks!

Why would you use third party trash on a next gen system at the expense of saving a few bucks?
Grab the quick charge kit and an extra battery and never worry about anything ever again.
(The quick charge kit comes with one battery. The extra battery is to charge while you play with the other battery.)

Or, pick up some good rechargeable AA's and just use those.
I had the Quick Charge kit for a few years and the batteries wouldn't hold up over time. I swapped over to using Enerloop AA's and they run for multiple times longer than the battery packs.

Thanks... The only reason I picked it up was because I heard good things about the Nyko charger for the Wii, so thought the 360 would be good as well. I use the Energizer charger for my PS3 and it seems to work great.
I will probably just get the quick charge from Microsoft if Nyko is really that bad. I just don't like using the system as the source of power for a charge because I don't like to use the system more than it needs to be (especially the Xbox)
Thanks again for the reply

Yeah, I may just try that too. Since Microsoft's charge is $30 and it is more or less just a luxury I will probably get some new rechargeable batteries. I had a bag of them, but so far all the ones I've tested don't charge well anymore and have very limited life in the controller, so it will probably be cheaper just to replace those than get a charger for the 360 and Wii.
Thanks for your reply!

I love my charging stand. Everytime I am done I just pop the batteries out and plug them in. Train yourself and you'll never have to worry about a charge. Very convenient.

Microsoft's charging stand is great. I wish Sony sold a stand. I've got Sony's $25 PS3 USB wall adapter. It comes with one USB cable, so if you want to charge two controllers, you have to buy another cable.

What brand do you have for your charging stand? I love having a charging station of some sort for my systems, it is just so convenient to be able to throw the controllers on just charge them. I'm tempted to get the induction charger for my Wii because that seems extra nice, and would probably help me to keep the sleeve on more often because I get tired of taking the sleeve off, taking the strap off, etc.

I wish I could find an energizer charger for the 360, I have one for the PS3 and it is great. Charges fast, gives a strong charge and even looks good, plus you can charge two at at time. If I recall correctly, I believe you can even charge four at a time some way, but I can't remember. I've also heard the charge for the Wii is good too. I didn't see any on Amazon but I'm sure they make it, so I may look for that too.
Thanks for the replies!

Thanks. I can't get back to Sears until next week anyway, so I'm still deliberating if I should keep it or not. I've been reading more reviews and it seems people either love it or hate it. One person wrote a review saying that the issue the other people was having was that they didn't remove the plastic from the charger and that was what caused the problem. but who knows.
I have the wireless sensor bar from Nyko and it works well and I have read pretty good reviews on some of the other Nyko products I've been thinking of getting, so I think I may give it a try. Unless I use regular rechargeable batteries I'm looking at spending $30 on another charger and then don't even have the two batteries, so it seems like it may be worth a try. If I have the same problems as everyone else, at least I can still return it when I go back next week.
