This stings. Alot.

Dear PlayStation.com Consumer,

We recently had a technical error on our site that caused the
prices of several games to be significantly marked down.
Our records indicate that you have placed an order for one
or more of these titles. Unfortunately we've had to cancel
the erroneous orders, yours included, and we sincerely
apologize for this error and any inconvenience this may cause.

We'd like to give you a $10 coupon as a way of saying thanks
for understanding. While we're not required to do this under
our site's terms of use
http://playstation.mx0.net/r?cJWqllEPTcEHWHcvcPPqv
we value our customers and we want you to be happy. See
below for the terms of the coupon, which you can use any
time before March 31, 2005.*

To redeem your coupon, just:
1. Select the product you want to order at www.playstation.com
2. Proceed through checkout as you normally would until you get
to the Order Review page
3. On the Order Review page, click the ADD button next to Coupon
or Discount
4. You'll be taken to a Discount page - just enter in your
discount code WETHANKYOU, click the ADD button and click CONTINUE.
5. That's it! If you have any difficulties, please call us toll
free at 866-249-3696.

Sincerely,

Playstation.com Store Customer Service

My order update says that it's delayed because theya re trying to source it out. But I think in a couple of weeks I'll get a copy of that cookie cutter email.

I hope I get one. And this should shut up all those people who thought they were being jerks.

Ahh, sorry.

I glanced at the last page and didn't see it.

Hmm, this is bad. I won't be buying PB now (I'm so bad at TBS games that I won't pay more than $25 for one). And I'll have to wait on Burnout. The irony is that I had just crossed them off my wanted list when the email came.

I think it's quite extremely nice of them.. you realize.. $10 coupon.. x thousands of orders.. they're losing thousands and thousands of dollars.. assuming everyone ordered a game from them.

Wrong, only a fraction of people will use the coupons as the games on the website are overpriced (or equal to retail) and then shipping kills the deal.

Yeah, but most of their prices are jacked up $10-$20 to begin with.

And their store is a pain to navigate.

It would be nice if they could actually update the Order status on their webpage

Hence why I said "assuming". I realize very few people, if any, will order. Wonder if you can combine the coupons.

I can't really hold cancelling the orders against them. I mean, they had themselves protected from the start due to their policy, and it wasn't a small pricing error. It was literally posted everywhere, and I'll bet a lot of people abused it and bought multiple copies just to resell. That'll kill off a good thing really quick.

They also charge $6+ for shipping so really any possiabke Reasonable good deal are negated. I 'd appreciate it a lot more if they gave out free shipping also

My point in mentioing this, Is that I think very few people will use the $10 coupon when you consdider after tax and shipping you're saving less then $4 and you can save $5 with the GGC. I dont think sony will lose much on this

I won't use the $10 coupon. If they want me to buy something, send me a $15 coupon.
