Playoff Picture after week 12:
AFC
The North is a tie at the top of computer competitors with the Steelers and Bengals both at 6-5. Neither team holds the head-to-head tiebreaker as they split their series already. Whichever team doesn't have the division currently holds one of the two wildcard spots though.
The Jags (awwjayzin) and Titans (Ivan Hood) are both 7-4 atop the South and again, they split their series already. Whoever misses out on the division is in a solid position to control one of the wild card spots.
The Raiders (seen415) are in control of the West, the only division with all user controlled teams, and has two games of separation from everyone else in securing a first round bye.
The Chargers (JustnCredible29) are just half a game out of a wild card spot, while the Chiefs (pitfallharry219) and Bills (Galego23) are also within striking distance.
NFC
The Cowboys (xX Anthem) have a firm hold over the East at 8-3.
Another CPU duo is tied atop the NFC North, with the Vikings and Packers holding 7-4 records, although the Vikings won both games in the head-to-head matchup.
Carolina (Static) from the South is the only team that has really separated themselves from the rest of the conference, standing at 10-1 with a three game lead on their closest division rival.
The Cardinals (BigAT) are currently atop the West at 8-3, but effectively hold a two game lead over the second place Seahawks (broadway row) after defeating them in both of their matchups this year.
There is going to be a heated race for the second place team and the bye week that comes with it, as well as the wild card spots for the conference. There are currently two 8-3 teams, four 7-4 teams and a 6-5 team that will all be battling it out for those spots as the year winds down.

League News Wire:
Redskins week 4 recap:In the midst of what was looking to be a long season, luck was on the redskins side for what many people were calling the Wednesday "Game of the Night". The skins put the first points on the board with a 44 yard field goal which bounced off the crossbar and in. Jim Zorn could be seen with a smile a mile wide after what had to be the best thing to happen to the Skins so far this season. That smile went away 15 seconds later when Jeff Garcia threw a 80 yard bomb to Derrick Ward.
The redskins pressured on however and nobody would score again until time expired at the end of the half where Elam kicked his second field goal of the night for 33 yards to make it 7-6. Jim Zorn was seen in the locker room a bit nervous though. While it was a close game, this was far from over and he's seen his share of blow ups and knew this was far from over.
The redskins opened the 3rd quarter with a nice drive which ended with a 20 yard pass to Dallas Clark for the TD. Not having anything to lose, they decide to go for the conversion, and once again Flacco connects with Clark to make it a 7 point lead. Not half a minute later, and Garcia saw his man and threw a 73 yard bomb to Nate Washington to tie it up.
"All I could think of was here we go again," Zorn told reporters after the game. The ball went back and forth in the 4th with no change in score until the Skins got to field goal territory. Jason Elam makes a short 25 yard kick to give his team the lead with a minute to spare. The offense was nervous as the defense took the field again. Garcia went to the air again looking to get the win where Roman Harper made the beautiful interception to secure his team the win.
The happiest person on the team was most likely Flacco. While he was due to get heat from Owens tonight who ended the game with a -1 in yardage, he threw a season low 0 interceptions. When asked about trade rumors, Flacco smiled. "The only trading we're doing tonight is trading our beer of sorrows for a nice bottle of champagne."
Rams week 4 recap:Shutout by The Bay
By M.A. Cuff
Amid growing offensive concerns the St. Louis Rams put up an impressive effort in a 28-0 on the road in the rain against the hapless 49ers. Though there wasn't much offense on either side there were big plays and they were made by the Rams. As usual the Rams defense led the way with the first a quarter sack and Fumble return for 23 yards and a TD by R Geathers. Geathers, a rising star at the end position stated "Coach said this is our kind of game, this is the kind of game we need to win. Get out there and get pressure on the QB and stick to your assignments and good things will happen". And good things did happen with only 19 yards on the ground Trent Edwards was forced to go to the air and that cost the 49ers. "There was no balance, no flow for us" coach Singletary lamented "And on top of that Trent was G** Danm under siege!!!!" Edwards was sacked 5 times and at least twice as many times hit. Trent Edwards silhouette is a new on field advertisement. "It was like they had 15 guys out there" stated Edwards. If Edwards isn't going to be protected any better than this the Alex Smith error (not a mistake) will come quick to San Francisco. In the Fourth to cap off the game rookie S.Smith returned an interception for 50 yards and a score. This is the rookies 4th int and third return for a touchdown(incredibly both are second to Asante Samuels 6 ints and 4 touchdowns). The rookie is really taking to his move from corner to FS. "I get little more freedom back there and a lot more responsibility but I'm learning from the vets and trying not to get a big head I've got a long way to go" stated Smith. Well the rooks come a long way since camp and if he continues to play like this a Defensive Rookie of the Year trophy might be in his future.
On offense the Rams were well…. not good actually, Tom Brady is still in the mother of all slumps and the passing game is non existent. The lone bright spot was the 50 yard TD run by Matt forte who powered up the middle broke tackles and had a race with teammate Brandon Marshall into the endzone. “Yeah that was a good run” M4 stated but we still have a long way to go on this side of the ball. The one coaching decision that paid dividends immediately was the move of Reggie Bush to be the primary kick and punt returner. The pay off was a 67 punt return for a touchdown and no fumbles in the pouring rain. Bush looked like a goal line back shaking off tackles and breaking to the outside where few in the NFL can catch him from behind. "there’s a lot of homerun hitters on this offense but we have to start helping the defense a lot more and we have the weapons to do it" stated coach Spagnuolo we need sustained drives and good sound offense. I expect alot of good hard practices this week this is unacceptable!". That was from the winning coach I'll leave you with the coach Singletary’s final comment when asked what could have gotten these guys up to play better against the Rams today? "I don't think Jessica Alba running through the showers naked could have got these guys up today!" Viva Viagra coach Viva Viagra!
Early Season Report:Its week 3 of the NFL season and now that the Veterans have gotten back into the grove and the Rookies have a some NFL experience under their belt, lets take look at who is hot and who is not.
Quarterback
Some unusual faces are sitting atop of the league, Titans QB Jay Cutler(Ivan Hood) has gotten of to a hot start throwing for 772 yards in just 3 games. Although leading the league in Passing his accuracy is 2nd class as he has thrown the same amount of INTs as he has TDs with 4.
Familiar face Payton Manning(CPU) rounds out third spot delivering 642 yards 6 TD and only one interception.
Running Backs
Willie Parker(CPU) leads the league in rushing for the Packers just breaking 200 yards total last game. He also have 2 TD.
Pierre Thomas (CPU)is just under Parker with 197 yards with 2 touchdowns. Although it has taken Thomas 27 more attempts to reach the same stats has Parker.
Wide Receiver
Joe Walsh (CPU), Marques Colston (Static) and Vincent Jackson are tied for receiving TD. Racking up, 241, 246, 261 yards receptively.
The Cards are the biggest surprise on the defensive side of the ball. Leading the league in both INT and Force Fumbles they show flashes of being the new 85' Team.
Cardinals week 3 game recapLooking to avenge their loss in week 2, the Cardinals came out with a vengeance and dropped a beating on the unsuspecting Colts. Jason Campbell had a turn around game, throwing 2 TDs and, more importantly, no interceptions.
Asante Samuel continued his push for defensive player of the year honors, snatching an absurd three interceptions, two of which were returned for touchdowns. Samuel has now had an interception return for a touchdown in all three games to begin the season.
Final score: 45-7 Cards
Redskins week 2 Press ConferencePress Conference -AP Writer JStryke
Looking a little distraught, Jim Zorn cleared his throat and tapped the microphone to test it. "I only have time for one question tonight seeing as we have a flight leaving tomorrow morning for Detroit. You, in the back. Introduce yourself and ask your question."
The reporter stood up from her chair. "This is Jessica Stryker reporting for JSN Radio. One could see from the game tonight that Joe Flacco could be to blame for your loss to the Rams. What would be the situation regarding his future playing time."
"At this time, it's a little too early to tell. his yardage is a little low for what we'd like it to be, but it's not awful. His biggest problem has been his accuracy. He's still growing at the position, and while I don't think I have to say it, six interceptions in two weeks is horrendous. As far as keeping him as the starter, we will be monitoring his progress. But to make a move this early in the season would be foolish considering our hopes of him becoming the QB of our future. If he continues down this road though, anything is possible and we'll make our move when we feel the time is right. This conference is now over.
We were wanting to reach Joe Flacco for his thoughts on his performance, but was unavailble for comment.
Terrell Owens met with reporters and had this to say. "You can point the finger at him and all this, but it's really unfair. It's really unfair man." Owens starts tearing up. "He's my teammate. He's my quarterback. You guys do that, and it's just unfair. Just unfair man. We lost as a team."
The media suspect that he only defended Flacco due to catching a 80 yard pass for a touchdown.
Old info:
With the arrival of Madden 10 this week I wanted to gauge interest in starting a fantasy draft league.
This league would be comprised of 10-14 teams; I am open to more but would like to get this started soon. A random draft will be held; to join you must have been a member longer than 2 months. The rules will be determined on as problems arise. I would like to get this started within the next week. I am open to accelerated schedules of 2 games per week as well.
If you are interested please check back in towards the end of the playoffs; you must have been a member longer than 2 months to play.

Haha, I guess you can take it into your own hands then. You'd be the better commish anyways. And yes, I'm interested.
EDIT: Also, just for people who are concerned about having two games a week-- it's going to be 10-14 players. So sometimes you'll end up with a game against the CPU. Also, don't be worried about your games getting simmed. Unless you're really busy and hate seeing your game simmed, then... this league is probably not for you.

I haven't been able to checkout the online mode yet so I do not know if we can create custom divisions and/or teams. The idea behind the small league is to prevent drop-outs for season 1 and hopefully expand larger for season 2.

I'm just wondering how a 54 round fantasy draft will work online. I hope we can use the website. The site is down right now.
^The website is up...http://www.easportsworld.com/en_US/madden/franchise/individualFranchise?prefs=fId%3D10333
According to their information we should be able to draft via xbl and the web page.

The site is still down for me, even after clicking on your link:
"Server connection down. Please try again in a few moments."
I was wanting to have the draft this Sunday 8/16 at 9am PST/12pm EST, and hoping we can have it done within an hour. I am open to moving the time to be an hour later but don't want more than that as I'm sure people want to enjoy their day off.
Just saw the message myself off the link, again I'd still like to plan on Sunday.
Matt Young

I can do Sunday. I was just commenting on the site.
You do mean 8/16, right? Because if this is a time machine draft, I'm out. ;)
EDIT: Is it first come, first serve on teams? As I said, I want to try a different team, and we'll be having the fantasy draft, anyway.
^Thanks for pointing that out, not really sure how I missed that. Its a fantasy draft so pick the one who's jerseys and stadium you like best.

I joined last night as the Dolphins since I like their uniforms, LOL. After checking things out, I don't think I'll be patient enough to set a draft order since there are 1,500+ players to rank.

Yeah, I would prefer a late night draft, if at all possible. I just joined as the Titans.
Monday at 6pm pst/9pm est works for me or Sunday at the same time; and I am flexible by a few hours...How is that timing for everyone?

Why does everyone on this site want to do fantasy draft leagues online instead of using the actual teams? Yeah I know there was a regular Madden league, but it filled up before I knew I was going to get the game.
Sorry but I have to pass on this one.
So when is the draft? I am up and ready for now. I thought it was today at 12pm (est)
I'd rather do it sometime today (sunday). I will have my kid tomorrow night. Someone needs to call me and let me know when it is though.. because if I'm out and about I won't see the "Official" post of what time the draft is, and I dont want to miss it. 502-387-1408.
Can everyone involved do it today @ 5pm pst / 8pm est?
If you don't want to post it, please pm me your availability between the rest of today and tomorrow evening.
Thanks!

Sorry but I have to pass on this one.
While I would have liked to get into the CAG official league with the actual teams. The comish of this league wants fantasy which I'll rock with and support. If anyone wants to start another official league I'll probably jump in that too. But I commited to this and I think it will be fun as a fantasy league. My only concern is getting my can kicked all over the virtual gridiron....lol So I do understand where you're coming from but if you want to jump out and be a comish of another league you got me. I just can't because I'm already pushing the envelope as far as time to do this...lol
Still waiting on Rexan & Shinryuu to join up; but there is plenty of room if someone else wants in!
MUSHitman; I understand you are frustrated that you didn't sign-up for the "Official" league but do you really have to complain about it? I am in the regular Madden league, and want to change-it up and do a fantasy draft.

Works for me, too. I'll be on the computer watching a wrestling pay per view.
pitfallharry219; that is why in the OP I prefaced the idea of a small league as with less teams we should be able to move this 1st season along.

I had neither the inclination nor the patience to set draft rankings for 1,500 players, but man, my offense sucks. Daunte Culpepper and Jon Kitna at QB? Am I the Detroit Lions?

Eh, Leinart's got the same overall as Kitna, anyway.
Did you put the difficulty on Pro? My game was remarkably easy, as I destroyed the CPU most of the game and only gave up one TD that resulted from a drive rather than me turning the ball over.

Well you my friend are better than me. I lost 16-14 to the cpu. Oh the shame!!! And I believe the setting is all pro. Man I used to only play on Madden level and would spank the cpu. I guess that's what happens when you loose time being a stupid grown up. I would have won if Ted Gin Jr. hadn't fumbled a routine kick return in the fourth quarter!!!!!

I beat the Ravens 28-14. The only reason they scored twice in the 4th was because I was talking to my friend while playing. My pass defense was a beast; Rodgers-Cromartie, Posluszny, and Vasher all had 2 INTs each.

Too bad this got started when I was camping for a few days, completely missed it and I would have joined. Oh well.
I can post some of the available teams up if that would be of interest. With regards to currents FA's EA already mentioned it would not update franchises in-progress. For Season 2, I think it would be best to re-draft but if the majority felt otherwise I would have no problem staying with the current teams.
Clock accel. would shorten things greatly for 5 minutes not something I'd like; are others wanting 7 minutes with clock accel. instead?

Heartbreaker of a loss. 21-14. I made a final push and came about 10 yards away from scoring to try and send it to OT. Considering I haven't played Madden since 06, I'm not doing too bad though. I just give up too many big plays. One was...I think a 60 or 70 yard pass while the other was an interception for a touchdown. For 99 freaking yards. *sigh*

I had a rough go of it in week 1 as well, but with a better result thankfully.
I somehow managed to overcome four interceptions by Jason Campbell and two fumbles lost by other players, including one that was returned for a touchdown. The offense finally got clicking and I was able to produce two touchdowns in the last four minutes of play, including one with just 32 seconds left to put me up 4. An Asante Samuel interception that was returned for a touchdown in the finals seconds sealed the deal for me.

EPIC WIN against BigAT's Cards.
I got some luck on my side. That 2pt conversion, I actually had an open lane if I followed the FB.. instead I go right and get a 4-man tackle that luckily pushed me forward rather than backwards. Then that FG was super close. I can't remember if it was short or just a little off to the right, but that was damn close. Then I threw that HB Rollout in OT and that was the end of that. Stiff arm'd that CB and ran like hell. It almost looked like I didnt break the plane at the end, but after the replay I think Jacobs stuck the ball beyond the pylon, and either way it was still going to be a W for me.
GAH that was fun.

As for my game, that seems to have been happening a lot lately. And your disadvantage isn't really a disadvantage seeing how I haven't played madden (before this year) since 06 on the original xbox. If anything, this might be the only evenly matched game of the year. On paper at least.

Wow, what the fuck is up with the roster? I choose the Pats and Warrick down is my 2nd WR? I have TE for FB? My DT are a LE, RE, OLB?
This is completely messed up....I hope that the other CPU teams dont have this problem because that will mess everything up. I had a CB playing 4 string TE.
In the OP, along with all the teams which I've listed at the bottom I mentioned that the Pats had a messed up roster and was not suggesting anyone take over...

Turnovers were my downfall. I fumbled in the red zone on the opening drive, and he returned it for a TD. Then in the closing minutes of the first half when I should have just ran out the clock, I threw a stupid interception. He ended up scoring before the end of the half.
Good game, seen.
Good game pitfallharry219; as you said it was defense that was what kept me afloat this game. Our offenses played like they were even but the first fumble(I think you were in the red zone) set a defensive tone which ultimately gave me the edge.

We just got our game in, and it wasn't pretty. I had trouble getting any offense going in the first half, which was made worse when he picked me off inside his 20 for a 13 yard INT return. Second half went a lot better for me, considering my offense finally picked up (although a bit late) and I only gave up 3 points (it was actually 10, but in the last quarter, I was just chucking the ball around hoping to make the score respectable when he got a pick return for another TD, which normally probably wouldn't have happened IMO).
Hopefully I can get a grasp on the passing game soon as that "seems" to be my biggest issue so far.
And yes, with the exception of some poor passes from me, it was a good game. Almost forgot though. In the one pass I made in the first quarter (I think it was the pick I mentioned), my guy all of a sudden took a left turn when he wasn't really supposed too. My jaw just dropped when he did that and I muttered to myself, "WTF was that".
Also, expect a press conference concerning Joe Flacco not too far from now.
The wrong turn by your WR was probably because he has a low "route running" or "awareness" stats. Boller about to upstage Flacco at QB?
Great work to everyone for playing their week 2 games! Thatdarkknight, we are waiting on you to play. I've already sent pm's today and he has logged on since and not responded to me. I will be advancing us to week 3 in a little over an hour unless there are any objections.

That would make sense. Not really sure who it was off hand though, so can't really check.
Press Conference
Great write-up JStryke, I'm sure myself and others may follow similar suit. I'm going to make a "press release" spoiler section in the OP for posts like this and others.

Sad thing is, I have nothing better. Kyle Boller and Rex "Gross"man. It was fun to mock the TO press conference from a couple years back from when he was in dallas though.
Eh, its the first season; you joined late and there are others in the same boat but season 2 when it comes will give you a fresh start.
JStryke
08-21-2009, 03:11 AM
I'm not really complaining. I just like to make it sound that way. But yeah, the fresh start would be nice, although when it comes to drafting defense, I'll be drafting blind.
I was wondering though, and I'm not sure I saw this anywhere. For free agents / trades, is there any restriction on that or are we able to do as we like? I saw the league settings were no CPU trading, but outside of that I mean.
I don't think you'd be drafting blind considering all the CPU did was draft the BPA(best player available) so you'd at least build your team the way you like to play.
FA's there isn't much since the CPU drafted via BPA, so you're welcome to pick at them; trades are allowed too.

Looking to avenge their loss in week 2, the Cardinals came out with a vengeance and dropped a beating on the unsuspecting Colts.

Pats cruise to another victory. 35-3 over the Falcons and rookie QB Matt Stafford. Defensive is the name of the game as the Pats had 3 sacks and 15 tackles for losses. Josh Wilson also had a INT for a TD.
2 things really quick. 1, I just found out that there are no end of the year awards for online franchises (heard this on gamefaqs so who knows if its true) but I see this as a good thing as now we can actually get together and vote on who we think his the best and should get awards.
2. If anyone plays me, I am sorry for my roster...its so jacked up because of the CPU put so many people in random spots. So if you are playing the Pats and you see a FB at WR or a RB at TE on some plays I am not trying to do it on purpose, I spent 20 min trying to fix everything and just gave up.

The Early Season Report:
Its week 3 of the NFL season and now that the Veterans have gotten back into the grove and the Rookies have a some NFL experience under their belt, lets take look at who is hot and who is not.
Marc Bulger(Soodmeg) has thrown for over 700 yards so far with a league leading 9 TD and only 2 INT. He is currently on pace to hit 48 TDs this season with the high octane Pats passing game.
5 year vet Steven Jackson(Soodmeg) has 179 yards over 3 games with 2 TD.
Yeah, sorry guys this could have been better but they dont list the stats in the right way. I would have had to go to each team and add up everything myself. So I quickly looked at the league leaders page.
Good write-up Soodmeg, but I thought the stats are reflective of weeks already played.

It started off fine for me. I was up 7-0 after the opening drive, and forced him to punt on his first possession. I muffed the punt, which he returned for a TD. I marched back down the field and scored again. 14-7. He took the next kickoff back for a TD. 14-14 after one quarter.
Eagles' next drive, he broke a long run with LT for a 54 yd TD. 21-14. I drove back down and tied it up at 21. Eagles score on a 89 yd TD reception by Desean Jackson. 28-21, Eagles at the half.
After that, it was just me playing catch-up. He came out in the 2nd half and scored twice in a row, and it was pretty much over following that. Eagles couldn't really stop my passing attack, and my defense loved to give up big plays. That's the story of the game.

Ugh... I was out of town yesterday. I need someone to help me with the rules just a bit. I am pretty sure my week 3 game was against the cpu. When Seen advances the week, it will simulate the game, right? I'm not real sure how it works. If there is an FAQ I should look at, please let me know.
Also; I don't know if this is a problem I should have asked about prior to but... probably every other weekend or so I will be out of town to visit my girlfriend. My question is, do I just need to schedule the game, and play it (sometime during that week) before Seen advances the week. If so; I should be good.
Finally; if someone had to play the CPU because of me yesterday, I'm sorry. I am definately looking forward to playing in this league. Now I just hope I didn't lose my week 3 game putting me at 0-3.
I know you said you were out of town, I hope you will have free time to get your game in this evening before I advance. Jughead, your game is vs the CPU.
Thanks for the recap pitfallyharry219; in the other Madden league as the Pats I lost in a similar fashion as a kickoff td return can totally mess-up the feel and control of the game.

That was a good game there for about 3 quarters. Somewhere down the line, you were able to break through with Addai (not sure where that came from) in the 3rd, and Mrs Flacco was good for YET another interception for a touchdown. Puts him to 9 INTs for the year and only 101 yards to show. The kicker, his 11.3 passing rating.
Larry Johnson had a decent game though for 98 rushing yards.
Plus, with the exception of that 81 yard breakthrough, I did hold you to about 60 yards of total offense.
At least I'm getting better though. Only gave up two big plays this time. That's a season high for me.

That's the story of the game.
yea what a game. his offense was on point my defense couldn't contain on the 3ed and long just couldn't stop it. but my special teams really stepped up to give me the lead and eventiually the lead good game man.

Yeah that was a good game. My offense blows. Sanchez is not a good QB and I have no real weapons on offense besides Addai. My Defense is damn good even though Johnson broke tons of tackles. One on one, my defenders had no chance.
Can we sign free agents or is trades the only way to improve my roster?

08-25-2009, 01:38 AM
I don't think you'd be drafting blind considering all the CPU did was draft the BPA(best player available) so you'd at least build your team the way you like to play.
FA's there isn't much since the CPU drafted via BPA, so you're welcome to pick at them; trades are allowed too.
Yeah, I checked your roster before the game and your offense didn't seem all that scary outside of addai. Regardless, Flacco was the only offense you needed.
Also, I hear the Vegas bidding for Flacco's performance for next week is over/under 3 interceptions. Any takers?

Pats Remain Undefeated, Take out Ravens!
Offense wins games, defense wins championships but in the case of the New England Patriots its hard to tell the difference. Lets start on the offensive side of the ball where Pats QB Marc Bulger became the 35th QB in NFL history to get a Perfect Passer Rating of 158.3 completing 14/14 for 187 yards and 2 Touchdowns as well as running one in from the 1 yard line in the 42-7 win over the Ravens. During the post game press conference Bulger had this to say on his record setting day, "I was just feeling it today. I didnt do anything differently in warm ups or in practice. It was just one of those days where I couldnt miss." But it doesnt stop there as Running Back Steven Jackson hit the century mark piling in 102 yards and 2 Touchdowns.
Dont let the offensive success over shadow the Pats defense who laid waist to Ravens QB Chad Pennington. "I dont think there was a single play where Chad didnt end up on his back," defensive captain Will Witherspoon who had a "Pick Six," in the 3rd Qrt. The heat proved successful has Chad threw 4 INT to the hungry Pats defense. One of which to 6' 2" 337 pound LE B.J. Raji who returned it 30 yards before being tackled from behind. "I was laughing so hard I almost fell of the bench," Bulger mentioned jokingly.
Key Stats.
Marc Bulger 14/14 187 Yards 2 TD
Chad Pennington 12/22 154 Yards 1 TD 4 INT
Steven Jackson 102 Yards 2 TD
John Stewart 3 Yards
Randy Moss 2 Catches 27 Yards
TJ Houshmandzadeh 1 Catch 16 Yards

Shutout by The Bay
By M.A.

In the midst of what was looking to be a long season, luck was on the redskins side for what many people were calling the Wednesday "Game of the Night".
Matt Young
08-27-2009, 06:27 PM
JStryke, I'll trade you Daunte Culpepper for Joe Flacco.
This is such horse shit. I don't know what was different in my first game, but my last 2 games have been 28-7 losses. I just have a horrible team, and keep getting screwed when it comes to luck. This last game, I threw a pick 6 on my first pass and fumbled for a TD return on the ensuing kickoff. Like the last game, the QB was 90% accurate and I couldn't catch anything. My receivers dropped countless balls.
This isn't happening in my other franchises. It's becoming more of a chore to play. I've been having about as much fun as a guy having his ballsack dragged over porcupines' backs.

I think I'm going to say no deal to that one. I looked at the ratings, and providing I was looking at the numbers correctly, they seemed to be pretty similar. Some noteable differences were Flacco's deep / medium accuracy for higher (not that I agree with that stat), in exchange for Culpepper's running ability which isn't really my style. Plus, I think threatening Flacco with a trade has made him play better.
As for my game against static, it was pretty fun. My offense pretty much let loose (in the first half anyways) and I had a beautiful (if not unconventional) run by LJ for a TD on a 3 and 10 situation. Both our running games were unstoppable beasts with us both ranging between 150-200 yards in our running games. Came down to the final play as well. I was in the redzone down 28-21 and couldn't pull off the TD to send it to overtime. So very close game.
I think my favorite part was in the (I think) 2nd quarter, we basically played catch with the opposing defense. I picked him off, and just a few plays later he picked me off again. I laughed a fair bit to myself after that series.

Not such a hot start for the Cards this week, as the defense showed some early rust following the bye week and Nate Burleson took a pass 80 yards for a touchdown on the first offensive play of the game (whoops). That was quickly erased as Steve Smith had a 58 yard touchdown reception of his own. My offense was beastly in the first half, scoring touchdowns each of the first four times they had the ball. Jason Campbell has really come on recently, throwing for 313 yards, 4 touchdowns and remaining interception free again.
Unfortunately, I had to cut Asante Samuel following the game after his unacceptable interception free performance. Chris Hope stole his spotlight and had two picks to his name.
The Cardinals win 41-17 and improve to 3-1 on the season.

Pats Take the Air Out of Mile High.
The New England Patriots continue their dominance beating the Denver Broncos 48 to 7. Marc Bulger continues to make a case for being the leagues MVP has he breaks a new NFL Record receiving another Perfect Rating of 158.3 today. Bulger went 12-14 for 176 yards and 2 TDs on a day where Denver Defense just didnt show up. "I am trying not to let it go to my head. I am just out their trying to make plays thats all....just trying to get the team in the best position to win."
Although Bulgers back to back perfect games has been the source of much media attention you cant not forgot about the rest of the team. Running Back Steven Jackson added 145 yards and one touchdown on the ground along with Desmond Clarks 6 grabs for just under 100 yards.
Not to mention the Pats defense which is been untouchable as of yet leading the NFL with 13 INT's. Racking up five interception to add to their growing total, two of which where run back for touchdowns. They also continued their newest trend of having a lineman get a INT, last week it was BJ Raji, this week Evander Hood the right end snagged his first,
pick six" of the year. "We are going to try to get all of the lineman touchdowns this year," said defensive captain Adrain Wilson. "I find it funny that these big 300 pound guys are nimble enough to dodge 3 or 4 guys for a score.
Key Stats.
M.Bulger 158.3 Passer Rating 12 for 14 176 Yards 2 TD
M. Hasselbeck 14 for 30 151 Yards 1 Rushing TD
Steven Jackson 145 Yards 1 TD
Thomas Jones 3 Yards
Pats Defense 5 INT 2 Defensive Touchdowns.
William Gay was Player of the game for his 2 INT one of which was returned for a Touchdown.

yeah gg man, we were doing terribly on offense for the first half. I couldn't believe I threw it right to your guy who was standing in front of my TE for a whole 5 seconds.
I was so pumped when I made that short pass that went for 99 yards.
try to not blitz me constantly, i was able to just dump it to the TE or HB everytime.
GG though man, it was close.

played my week 6 game. The Ravens are now 2-4. Randy had two TD grabs. AFC North looks weak.

Good game with Soodmeg. Patriots (Soodmeg) over Titans/Oilers (IvanHood), 27-14. He forced a couple of unfortunate fumbles in the first half, one on my first kickoff return, which left me scoreless at half time. I broke a couple of big pass plays early in the second half, but was shut down for the rest of the game.

First and foremost, how the fuck did you let Ivan Hood draft all of his players? He has the most stacked team I have seen so far, Westbrook, M. Barbor, Witten, Culter, Merriman, Ogunleye, Orakpo, Hood just to name a few. Although, his O-Line is skimpy.
Anyway.
Pats Defense Come Through Against Titans.
The high powered offense of the New England Patriots met its match today against the equally high powered Titans defense. Mark Bulger was held to just 99 yards and 1 TD on 8 of 16 passing. Steven Jackson fared slightly better racking up 75 yards on the ground.
Fortunately for the New England they have one of the leagues best defenses which proved to much for the Titans to handle. "Yeah, we saw that our offense was struggling a little bit today so we knew we had to pick it up on defense to win the game," commented team captain Adrian Wilson. Pick it up is an understatement as Titans QB Jay Culter spent most of his time running for his life against the Pats blitz package. The Pats defense held both Brian Westbrook and Marion Barber to under 14 total rushing yards including 7 tackles for loss of yards. They didnt just stop the ground game, except for two big passing plays by Culter the Pats racked up 3 Sacks, 3 Interceptions and 3 Forced Fumbles which were all recovered by New England. "Its a good feeling knowing that if I cant get it done my team can bail me out," Bulger said after the game. "It takes a lot of the pressure off the offense knowing we will most likely get more chances than the other team."
Key Stats.
Marc Bulger 8 of 16 for 99 Yards 1 TD
Jay Culter 12 of 24 for 226 Yards 2 TDs.
Steven Jackson 75 Yards Rushing 1 TD
Brian Westbrook 0 Yards Rushing
Marion Barber 14 Yards Rushing
Pats Defense force 6 Turnovers. (3 INT, 3 FF)

Sebastian Janikowski representing for all the kickers around the league! Late in a rainy game at Giants Stadium, Seabass hustled down the field following a kickoff and was in position to scoop up a fumble. Janikowski and his 10 Finesse Moves rating took it and ran 22 yards for a touchdown giving him 14 points for the day.

I'm winding down for tonight pretty soon and plan to hit town for chores tomorrow. Sometime later that night should work (not sure when I'll be home. No later than 9 though). Otherwise, anytime Wednesday works as long as I'm awake. On EST time.
BigAT, you really should have made a video.

I wouldn't mind taking the Seahawks if it's possible to expand the league. The other league is moving a bit slower than I imagined so I'm looking to join another one.
