http://ps2.ign.com/articles/552/552904p1.html
and
http://xbox.ign.com/articles/553/553094p1.html
they gave it and 8.8 and called it the best MK yet...mmmm
also in PSM magazine it recieved a 9.5
looks like im picking this baby up, even though when i saw "best MK ever" i was thinking at LEAST 9.5 review score
sorry if this is a repost

I was thinking the same thing. The whole review was full of praise citing no major problems with the game aside from cheap A.I. and it "only" gets an 8.8.

Um, how about the getting stuck against invisible walls problem they mentioned?

apparently konquest was a little glitchy and annoying, but i think of konquest as an added bonus because MK is all about arcade mode
it scares me to think what other spinoffs MK will have in the future :/

Yeah but the reviewer said that it was a minor problem to him.
It can also prove to be a little frustrating when traveling past trees, boxes, and bushes too, as these invisible locations force you to do a long, complicated wind-around in order to get back to an accessible path regardless of whether or not there's a visual obstacle. Analyzing this, I can definitely see how less patient gamers may grow tired of the frequent fetch questing and specialty matches (ie: defeat Sindel while bleeding with a default of only half your health bar), and the fact that there isn't a mission screen to remind you of your objectives can be bothersome too. But then again, given what this mode offers in comparison to other fighting games the positives far outweigh the negatives.
It wasn't listed as a big gripe to the reviewer so i see his hating of the cheap A.I. as the dominant reason for the 8.8.

That's pretty freaking low. The game must've hurt one of the reviewer's family members for them to score it so low.
