Is there a way to enable a tag to allow for real time countdowns to be integrated into a post? It would be very handy with lowball auctions for example, since people could be more sure of when everything ends without worrying about time zones and so forth.
Googling around showed that this was possible at other sites, so I was curious if I could request the same here.
No big deal either way - just a suggestion.
Thanks!

You mean like they have at Slickdeals?
If so, that'd be neat. Could also be used for when deals will start, etc.

Definitely agree that it'd be a good idea.

I would also like to throw my name in the "would like to see this" hat. It would make lowballs that much more fair to the community, as well as helping people see when a deal ends or a game drops.

Can you add a poll? Would help administrators gauge the urgency.

What happens when the timer runs out? Is the thread locked? Does a bot post stating that the time has ran out?

It should be made so that it would lock the thread, at least for a predetermined time.
Eg. Lowball sale ends at 12 AM, timer runs out and locks the thread for 10 minutes.
This would make sure there's no sniping in lowball sales and everyone would know exactly when the sale ended.
