The fact that (to my knowledge) the gun was a limited edition thing, and when you can get something that not a lot of other people have, people tend to go a little nuts.

Wow people on eBay are really dumb. You can get a new limited edition Gears of War 2 game for $70 and they still come with those items for a good $10 or so more.
Well atleast in the US anyways, don't know aboot Canada.
