wanting to get a band set, problem is which one? (RB or GH:WT)

Ive been reading on different forums, along with this one that show pretty mixed opinions about the instruments for each game.

Ive heard Rock Band 2's drums are better, but the thing is that I have guitar hero 5 preordered, but I dont have instruments for either one. I prefer world tour's song selection, although rock band 2's isnt that bad. I can also get the first rock band and transfer the songs over. Same with the AC/DC pack

Im still in limbo, the prices are great for each, but even though i do not plan on playing the game a ton, Id like to have better quality.

Are there any issues with compatibility (rock band drums in guitar hero and vice versa)?

As someone who did just what you said about transferring the songs from the first RB and AC/DC, I can say that I would 100% recommend Rock Band 2 over Guitar Hero. Guitar Hero feels soulless now, like it's just posing. The presentation of the note track is also better in Rock Band 2. DLC is also a weekly thing for the 'Band, so the game can evolve to suit your musical tastes.

As for the instruments, go with the Rock Band 2 drums and the Guitar Hero III Les Paul(R.I.P.) guitar controller, as it smokes the RB Strat.

Rock Band. More diverse soundtrack, more robust game, decent instruments.

Rock Band 2. Better game, better drums. If you don't like the guitar, use it to calibrate lag on your TV (if you have an HDTV) and then sell it and pick up a couple Xplorer Guitar Hero guitars (or whatever the PS3 equivalent is).
