He'll probably spend time in one of those minimum security Holiday Inn type prisons anyways.

I think he will probably serve a split sentence if it is a year. He will serve like 6 months during the offsesason of next year, and then 6 months of the offseason the year after.

I actually think the whole situation is stupid. You are going to make him goto jail for x amount of time in basically a resort. What a waste of taxpayers money :P

I think the big issue is that Williams just kind of decided not to show up so he could smoke weed. Don't get me wrong, I believe the criminalization of weed smokers is idiotic, but I think leaving the team in a lurch is the biggest issue.

Ricky Williams failed his 3rd drug test. Thats 3 proven, irrefutable times that he used drugs of some kind.

Jamal Lewis, while probably guilty of trying to sell cocaine, has not been proven guilty yet. If he pleads guilty, or is convicted, it is an automatic suspension. Unless Lewis is found innocent, he will most definitely be suspended.

Sorry but if you manage to fail 3 drug tests and aren't suspended there's something wrong there. Just like if you plead guilty to a felony crime and aren't suspended there's something wrong there.

Ricky Williams will be suspended when he returns to the NFL.

A player who tests positive once for any drug that is banned by the NFL is admitted into the treatment program for two years and is subject to as many as 10 tests a month. If a player is clean during that time, he is removed from the program.

A player who tests positive twice is fined the value equal to his pay for four games. A player who tests positive a third time is given at least a four-game suspension. A player who tests positive a fourth time is suspended for at least a season.

He will be suspended a minimum of 4 games. Ricky Williams says he failed a 3rd time, there are some reports that its really a 4th time, but its looking like its only a 3rd time.
