I was looking through the forums on Trade Games Now and found a reliable user who is selling a PS2 with no hookups for $54 with 3 day shipping. I though this was a pretty good deal since you can get hookups for about $10-20. Check out the link.

Thanks Zewone! Turns out he also had an Xbox with all hookups for $85 shipped via fed ex, and I went for that (the lowest I got close to was 89 on ebay PLUS 12 shipping.)

I was going to post that also but it had a thompson drive

first off its thomson, second its not bad but its not good either... they usually work, but if it doesn't its an easy fix and in some cases a laser cleaner disc will work... just to make sure I would ask him to show you one of his games loading in the XBOX, like HALO... every1 knows he has a camera or digital...

Well, with 117 feedback, and free FEDEX 3 day shipping, it doesn't seem like a bad deal. Like I said, the thomson drive units go for about 80-90 on ebay before shipping anyway.

do you think it made a difference? Oh wow I put a P in  thats nice to be rude

I had an xbox with a THOMSON drive and had a lot of problems and a lot of other people I know also had a thomson drive and had problems as well

some people I know haven't had any but I called and complained and they replaced the drives for free and a couple of my friends called as well and got it exchanged free

if he says it doesn't get DDE or whatever than its a good deal 8)

its not bad and if you complain they probably would fix it for you free as long as it hasn't been opened

also look here

look how much the prices are on the different drives

heh, there is a difference. He says that the Serial code is still intact, so if there is a problem, then I can call them about it. Thanks for the input though!

it should be fine

and when you get it and play halo etc and it plays fine you may still want to call and complain just to try to get a samsung drive I have heard they play like burned cds or something

I have a thomson drive, works fine.

Cannot read CDR's, but can read certain CDRW's.
Does not really like DVD-RW's (tried numerous brands), will read, but inconsistent.
Works fine with all the DVDR's I've tried.

This is just my experience, you mileage may vary.

I find it humorous that the Xbox has so many problems with it's drive. Makes me feel better about the DRE's my PS2 used to have.

its probably like the first version ps2's

they didn't have a lot of problems at first. I had my xbox since the first day and played it a ton and never had a problem until last year got a 2004 sports game and kept on freezing and saying DDE and the game was brand new from like best buy
