From the developer of the popular and successful Super Stardust HD, comes another action packed blaster - this time its infectiously addictive gameplay is more gruesome...
A war is raging over the planet which has left it in chaos and ruin. A zombie virus has rapidly spread through the human population across the globe, leaving it with one hope - you. Among the few capable of fighting back and surviving the mayhem and destruction, your mission is to take on the zombie masses and come out alive.
Do you have what it takes to resist this Dead Nation?
• Pit your wits against hundreds of zombies on screen
• Blast your way with a friend in on or offline co-operative play and rank yourself with online leaderboards
• Track your zombie kills with the daily online world map and reduce the zombie virus with other Dead Nation players in the country you're playing

OK, so it does have 2 person co-op; good thing since Zombie Apocalypse is another top-down shooter with 4 player co-op, but they're boxed-in arenas versus the "Left 4 Dead" progression the DN trailer hinted at. Hope DN has a deep upgrade system.

Not that envious over Shadow Complex anymore.

First thing I thought when I saw this was "it's another SHMUP". It'd be practically the same game as Super Stardust HD if the guy could dash out of danger.

Dead Nation has re-appeared with a new live action trailer.
Following the original announcement of Dead Nation at Gamescom in Cologne last year we’ve kept purposefully quiet about what we’ve got in store for you, but at this year’s E3 we’ll be bringing you right up to speed with the game and what you can expect from Housemarque and Sony Computer Entertainment’s PSN-exclusive zombie game. We’ve been pulling out all the stops over the past year to make this game a nerve shredding, atmospheric and action packed experience, and to whet your appetite for what we’ve got coming up at E3, try this on for size…
Thanks FriskyTanuki I was wondering what the hell happened to this game. I just figured it got canceled or was rehashed into a new project.

That they felt they had to jazz up the trailer with 3/4ths of live footage and only 1/4th gameplay is not a good sign IMO.

Zombie Apocalypse was decent. I was really hoping this would be more of a Resident Evil OTS or TPS view but it still looks really good. At least the Camera isn't so far away from the characters.

I had definitely wished that the xbox had something more akin to this game than simply Zombie Apocalypse. The smash tv feel was okay in ZA but something along the lines of walking through town like in Hunter the Reckoning on the old systems would definitely be cool. I wish this was coming out for XBLA....

http://blog.us.playstation.com/2010/07/30/hands-on-dead-nation-for-ps3/
PlayStation Blog has some new details about Dead Nation:
I’m a pathological fan of zombie movies. Night of the Living Dead. Return of the Living Dead. 28 Days Later, [REC], Dawn of the Dead — I count these films among my all-time favorites.
So I was obviously itching to get my mitts on Dead Nation (http://us.playstation.com/games-and-media/games/dead-nation-ps3.html), the upcoming PSN (http://us.playstation.com/psn/index.htm) shooter from the creators of Super Stardust HD (http://us.playstation.com/games-and-media/games/super-stardust-hd-ps3.html). Luckily, I got some extensive play time from last week’s NYC PlayStation media day. Here’s what I learned.
http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4101/4817513840_f1f0e33c8a_m.jpg (http://www.flickr.com/photos/playstationblog/4817513840/) http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4076/4817513698_9b274f0fee_m.jpg (http://www.flickr.com/photos/playstationblog/4817513698/)
You can upgrade your guns…a lot. Dead Nation’s environments are dotted with fenced-in “safe zones” that give you a chance to catch your breath and buy supplies from a nearby gun shop. In addition to buying health and ammo, you can purchase mods that will enhance your various weapons in different ways, depending on the gun. The mods upgrade stats such as damage, ammo capacity, firing rate, reload time, and range. While the most potent weapon upgrades are expensive, you can pop open car trunks and chests found through the environments in order to collect cash and other useful items.
The Shotgun is devastating. The Dead Nation build I played featured three weapons — the Shotgun, SMG, and Rifle — with more to come in the final version. Early on, I decided to pour my money into repeatedly upgrading the Shotgun’s damage and spread capability. The results were impressive: My buckshot blasts became massive cones of death, ripping through the ghoul hordes like a wet sneeze through a store-brand tissue. Sometimes I swapped to the SMG for its rapid firing rate, or the Rifle for its long-range capabilities. But come Dead Nation’s (http://blog.us.playsation.com/tag/dead-nation) release date later this fall, I know what my go-to gun will be.
http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4139/4817513760_72293937a1.jpg (http://www.flickr.com/photos/playstationblog/4817513760/)
There are many zombie types. After you shake off the initial shock of battling dozens and dozens of zombies, you’ll quickly learn that not every zombie is created equal. You’ll see fast, gangly zombies that rush up close but fall quickly to melee attacks. You’ll see big, tough zombies that take a licking but move more slowly. I even spotted a few zombie cops that wildly fired their service revolvers while they lunged at me.
Mobility = life. Housemarque’s (http://www.housemarque.com/) previous game, twinstick PSN shooter Super Stardust HD (http://blog.us.playstation.com/tag/super-stardust-hd), is clearly an influence on Dead Nation’s fast-paced gameplay. For example, rapid kills fill up your combo meter, which in turn sends your score into the stratosphere. As in Super Stardust HD, you’ll also realize the importance of staying mobile to avoid incoming enemies — to get cornered is to die. Luckily, you can throw mines and grenades to clear some temporary space, or use the “rush” move to push your way through a line of hungry flesh eaters.
Dead Nation will be released on PSN (http://blog.us.playstation.com/category/playstation-games/psn-playstation-games/) later this fall.

That's cook that the lighting has a actual role within the actual gameplay.

its a very fun game man easily the best psn game ive played yet. and from the way its set up
they seem to be keeping realtime tabs on each countries total zombie kills and you can see how you rank as a player.
the story is pretty hokey though but as a fan of zombie anything its easy to look past it and enjoy the fun of the game. co-op isnt enabled though for the beta but i can see the potential fun there.

I only played the first level to completion and I';m loving this game. Actualy I don't think I'll play the Beta anymore so as not to spoil the retail release.
[SPOILER]It's a pretty tense game and has a lot of scares. I love that you can charge your shots (with the AR at least) for one shot kills; also that you can blow up cars (which draws the zombies to it)
The country-based leaderboards are a pretty cool touch as well. Does anyone know what's up with the percentage on the leaderboards and the 'zombie-level' of each country? Will the game change when new levels are reached (like Noby-Noby?)
[SPOILER]
While I didn't have this game on radar I'm now definetely excited for it!

This is a lot more like a Survival horror game than a twin-stick shooter. For example, instead of being in a closed 'arena' you're actually traveling through a level and advancing. So it's a lot more fun than Zombie Apocalypse. Think of it as a top-down RE

This game is pretty fun. I think they could work on the control scheme a bit however. It'd be nice to have a jump button in there (unless I missed it). Aiming didn't feel all that easy/precise either but that's probably because of the top-down perspective. Pretty solid overall though. I also like that there's at least some narrative. A lot of these zombie games don't have any sort of story or voice acting.

http://blog.us.playstation.com/2010/10/07/dead-nation-online-co-op-confirmed-special-zombies-revealed/
Online Co-op Announced:
Ladies and gentlemen! Today I would like to confirm that Dead Nation (http://blog.us.playstation.com/tag/dead-nation/) does indeed feature online co-op play! You will be able to team up with your friends either sharing the same couch or via the PlayStation Network (http://us.playstation.com/psn/) against the undead invasion and start blasting thousands of zombies into pieces and piling up the bodies. All of this and much more is included in Dead Nation, check out the Know Your Enemy trailer.
Originally, online co-op wasn’t going to be included as a launch feature, as the schedule and resources didn’t allow it. However, after many late night play testing sessions and long talks with Sony Computer Entertainment, we decided that this was a must-have feature and it would be unfair to you if we launched without it! At this point, our coders went from working 12 hour days to working 16 hour days as well as weekends! Fortunately I think what we came up works really well. Check out these new co-op screenshots and see for yourself!
http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4104/5055344333_75014ddeb8.jpg (http://www.flickr.com/photos/playstationblog/5055344333/)
The online co-op fully matches the offline experience. Enjoy the full co-op experience with hundreds of on-screen zombies, huge explosions, blowing up zombies into a plethora of pieces and bloody entrails scattered around.

In addition to the coders working non-stop, the designers and artists felt it was only fair to throw themselves into the mix and created big gameplay levels with tons of replay value, adding weapon upgrade system and cool weapons to bring a new tactical dimension to the gameplay.

I am considering Dead Nation, but not sure what you mean by the above. I only played the demo for Zombie Apocalypse for a few minutes..Are you saying Dead Nation is really good but ZA was not? Just curious. Also, I see that Dead Nation has a looting experience to it, can you expound on that component at all from your play time?
You called Dead Nation just another dual-stick shooter when it goes far beyond what the average dual-stick shooter, like Zombie Apocalypse, does with the controls. The game as a whole is a bit more like a Left 4 Dead from the overhead perspective without the forced co-op in single-player mode, as you're moving through actual environments rather than just an arena with zombies in it. The controls are not the same as your typical dual-stick shooter since aiming doesn't automatically shoot and there's weight to your character's movements, so you move more slowly when walking backwards than forwards.
The loot isn't really anything like a Diablo or even a DeathSpank, as there are just large crates hidden around each level that earn you a new piece of armor that you can put on at a checkpoint area.

K-Mart had a sale a few months ago where a $20 PSN card netted you a $10 coupon off a future PS3 gaming purchase. Several of us used it to buy another $20 at half off. I did that six times in a week and netted $120 for $70. Now combine that with GameSharing and I've got more PSN games than I have time to play.

See I did not manage to get in on any sales, instead I paid full price for my card with credit I got from flipping games for profit. I bought 6 copies of Black ops during the b2g1 sale that stacked with 26% off for $160 then turned around and sold them to gamestop for about $250. End of the day I walked away with almost $100 extra credit to cash paid, I then bought a few PSN cards. So I am looking at it as if you can game the system at gamestop or amazon then get PSN cards its like buying PSN points on the cheap. Nice thing is I have another 6 copies coming to flip ;) Hopefully the price the game is worth holds up!

So I am DEF enjoying this game, but I feel its not doing a good job explaining most of the stuff. For example what the hell is the online infection for your nation thing? It shows it being at like 25% or something like that right now, and I assume when it hits 100% that means the infection stops....but how does that effect the game/me?
When i start a new game on a harder difficulty will my weapons or anything carry over? What about online play? I just feel like I keep finding questions but not answers.

This game desperately needs a button that to hold you in place and be able to shoot and aim 360 degrees. That would be so perfect.
Anyway, I love the game and I don't know why people are complaining about the game being too dark, I'm still able to see if I'm being hit by zombies or if they're close enough without having to shine my flashlight at them.
Also, after a 3rd playthrough of the first level, I also found out about the loot hidden in the trunk of the cars. I'm still trying to get the hang of it and not lose my multiplier before going to the next levels.
This is the scariest top down 3rd person shooter I've ever played.

I'm on the fence about picking this up. If it was $10 I'd be all over it...and I feel like they would sell so many more copies at $10 from loads of cheap people like me that pricing at $15 or $10 isn't really going to change profits all that much.

Yeah, this new $15 price tag aint working for me. $15 is more then id pay for a game day 1 and since Sony only seems capabable of doing 50% off a sale they go on sale for $7.50 which seems an odd price and also is outside the $1-$5 impulse sale purchase.

I disagree. Many many many gamers still play games offline/solo. I would be suprised if most people are even trying to play online at this point, I know no one on my friends list is. So if their choice is delay the game another few weeks or even month, or put the game out now and let people enjoy it then patch in voice support when its done....I think the choice is obvious.
I think the problem is that some of you are hardcore online buffs and forget that most of the gaming world still is not. I mean christ just listen to a podcast these days and they will pitch a fit if online is not in a game, and they all suck at the tit of XBL because all their friends use it.

I started on the easy setting and almost have the game beat, only one death so far and it was when I had two of the giant guys that jump up and land near you for massive damage both from off screen hit me at the same time as two fat zombies popped on me. I tonight or tomorrow will probably jump from the easiest setting to the hardest and report back how difficulty is then.

Just got done playing single, gotta try co-op soon. A lot of the middle levels were kinda boring (imo), towards the last 3 levels things started to pick up. Since you have infinite ammo for your rifle, its pretty powerful and its pretty cheap to upgrade it makes it the obvious first choice. After that I went shotgun and was happy for it. The shotgun is not as good as you would think at taking out large groups of enemies, however it takes the special zombies down fast. It really does do massive amounts of damage. After that I would get only one of the guns that are meant to take a group of zombies down, I say this because I found that I would need a specific weapon in a pinch like my shotgun and I would have to shuffle through 3 other weapons to get to it! So get the shotgun, get 1 group control gun and get the grenade launcher eventually. This is just whats useful based on my experience with the game. At most I would do SMG, Shotgun, either flamethrower or the electric/lighting gun and finally the rocket/grenade launcher.

Mines are great when you know hoards are going to be coming at you (around activation points or when there's a hoard of zombies on the other side of a gate), as they can pack multiple explosions to last for a lot longer than a grenade with some upgrades.

I got that trophy by doing the first stage via mission select after completing campaign mode. Your save game may have glitched. Might need to try a different stage or delete the save game and try again.

the electric gun is definitely not useless. that thing is a beast, especially on the army zombies that take a ton of rifle/shotgun hits.

Sometimes the red zombies hide. I kept getting hit on the first level by one of those. The 4th time I played it, I just killed enough zombies to get to the next checkpoint. Dont hang around to kill them all, you can move from checkpoint to checkpoint until the end where you have to kill every zombie to get the final gate open. I also played on the easy setting to get it over with.
I finally finished my first playthrough on normal. Cant wait to get back to it on Morbid and finally one level on Undead. I can only imagine what that will be like! Still looking to coop with someone for the coop trophy. I would like to just play that on the easiest setting though to get through it the quickest.

Thing is I have not seen myself get hit and when I walk over health packs its not picking them up which would suggest I am at 100% health!

you guys are using default controls? I feel like they kinda suck.
Here's my button config.
change weapons and items are now the face button (x triangle o square) because I can filter through my guns while I run away. Really awkward when I run and press the directional pad.
My melee button is L1 and R2 is the item use. R2 being the grenade reminded me of COD so that worked and L1 as melee seems to be better for me.
Something about the default controls I feel like really make me fumble sometimes. Anyone else use custom controls?

you can do all the co-op trophies in couch co-op. but you do have to be online for 1 trophy, which is after every level you upload how many zombies you killed to add to your country's total.

Anyone in the US that has this game should pop on tonight and play a bit. The US and Finland are in a race to be the first to hit 100%. US is at 98 and Finland at 96.5% however currently Finland is cruising at a lot faster rate then the US which is hardly moving. /nod it does make a difference the size of the country. I will be on playing tonight too if you want to try and make a morbid run. I should be on in around an hour to an hour and a half and then be on for an hour or two at least.
I am fairly certain the US will hit it first. The fins have slowed down dramatically while we are slowly speeding up. It makes sense though with time zones and what not, when I saw it earlier it was probably around 6 there which is a good time to play, while now its getting in to late night where people there have to go to sleep and people here get home from work ;)

As soon as the wife and kid go to sleep I will be getting on. Probably after 9pm ET. Just realized though that I am still on Grim. My wife kind of took over the PS3 and since she is sick I am not about to kick her off :( How late you on tonight? After she goes to bed I may be able to stay up for a bit and do a quick brain dead run through.
Edit - Is the game equally difficult on co op or does the difficulty ramp up to match the number of players? Meaning if you play on morbid for instance with 1 player and an enemy would hit you for 10% of your health do they all of a sudden hit you for more then 10% on co op? Just wondering if playing co op makes things easier or not....mainly because so far morbid is freaking difficult(think its morbid I am on, its the second hardest difficulty).

As for difficulty and fat zombies....yeah I know. I played a bit more last night to try and help push the US over the 100% line and while playing I noticed that some of the fat zombies died from a charged shot, some did not. I really do not get why and its incredibly frustrating. It also seems a bit ridiculous that a fat zombie will knock off like 60% of your health in all of a second and that they survive cars blowing up now! I maybe could have understood on undead mode, but for morbid it seems a bit much.
Also, is it my imagination or are the zombies running faster? I do not recall them moving nearly as fast on the easier settings. Kind of interesting if they really did make the zombies faster, not to many games bother making enemies move faster to add challenge ;)

8bitArtist

i think zombies move faster on the harder difficulties. those fat guys can really mess you up. you cannot shot them with the rifle unless its a powered up shot. your accessories like flare, grenade and especially mines are the most valuable assets.
crinkled: the only thing that carries over between play throughs is your armor. so its best to get all the armor your braindead play through so you can use it for your harder play throughs. everything else however resets.

Your armor carries over your weapon and their upgrades do not. Kind of stinks too since the Armor really does not seem extremely useful in this game. As for difficulty, I found Brain Dead to be really easy. I think I only died twice the whole game on brain dead and when I moved up the the third difficult(cant recall what it is but it is the one after normal)I found there to be a little challenge but really nothing that bad outside the last section of graveyard and the last section of the last stage. Morbid however is tough! I am playing through it right now and just finished graveyard and it certainly changes the way you play the game! If you want to survive you will take it slow and adopt not just general game play strategies but even strategies on how to take out different enemies!

First off flares are your best friend. Upgrade your rifle and get the shotgun and upgrade it enough to take out boss zombies then focus hardcore on those flares. The flares are dirt cheap to buy and when the duration is upgraded they give you a good 10-30 seconds to slaughter zombies, not take damage and just get your wits about you. Also 90% of the enemies in the game are distracted by flares to the point where they will not attack you even if you are standing next to them if the flare is in the immediate area. This means you do not need to waste ammo or grenades taking out the distracted zombie, instead you can actually toss a flare then stand right on top of it and melle to take out any zombie that comes near. The only three zombies that I can think of that will still attack when you have a flare out are the big guys with scythes for hands, the big zombies that jump and the screaming zombies.
Speaking of the screaming zombies they are another big tip. In braindead mode they really are not that bad, but in the harder modes they are a MAJOR pain in the ass and need to be taken out instantly. If you see one by itself then stand back and blast away with your rifle slowly moving forward and taking him out before triggering a hoarde. If there are a few stragglers near him then switch to your shotgun and even if it means taking a hit or two take him out before he starts screaming. Finally if you see a large group near him then toss a flare or grenade and while the other zombies are distracted switch to your shotgun and take him out!
Another tip is to upgrade mines. Usually I do my rifle, then a bit back and forth between flare and shotgun, then finish off flare, finish off grenade and start focusing on mines. Mines are a life saver because first off if you can finish the enemies off before they hit the mine then you did not waste your mine(you can backtrack a different horde to it). Second off they are godsends because they trigger multiple times. Learn the layout of stages as you play and if you know you are going to be flooded with zombies then toss down one of your mines, trigger the horde and then dash behind your land mine. You can stand back picking off zombies with your rifle and if they get too close the mine will take care of them.
Thats 90% of my play style right there. My rifle is my main weapon, switch to powered up shotgun for boss zombies and use flare/grenade/mine if things are getting out of hand. After all the rest of that is maxed out I grab the electric gun, launcher and blade cannon(but only when I know I have the money saved to fully upgrade them). I wait till I have the money for upgrades and I skip the flamethower/SMG because I dont want to shuffle through too many guns/weak guns. Nothing sucks more then scrambling to find your shotgun when you need it.
Edit - Just wanted to add yes I do use Dynamite and Molotovs as well its just a lot more rare and only on higher difficulties. Those two are more like my back ups. Molotovs are used whenever I have ran out of all my good items and Dynamite is used for when I am hit with HUGE groups of zombies combined with either the sciccor hand guys or the screamers.

Thanks very much, I'll take that all in to account! Do you know what? I never even knew that those zombies created hordes (I did wonder where they all kept coming from near the end of the graveyard level!) and I didn't know that zombies won't attack you if they're distracted by flares, either. I've already made it to the fourth level on normal mode really quickly using your tips. Cheers!

smg and moltovs are useless. flamethrower will slow down zombies. good when youre getting rushed. also, setting fire to the screamers will shut them up giving you time to kill them.
also, CHANGE THE CONTROLS. switching weapons with the dpad is awkward. switch them to the shape buttons instead. this way you can run and still switch weapons accordingly

I did not understand why the darkness bugged people so much through most of the game...but Christ playing through morbid it was a MUCH bigger issue. When a single zombie can take off like 15% of your life in one hit it becomes an issue and a big one. Whenever a fat zombie can take off half your damn life in a second it becomes a MAJOR fucking issue.
Still I have plugged through and outside one or two parts that hung me up for 2 or 3 tries I made it through to the last level. Reached the final bridge stage last night, but decided to try it today since I have a feeling that last stretch is going to have me stuck for an hour or two. I know playing on the difficulty before morbid it took me 5 or 6 tries to beat it and when I did beat it I actually did so not even fighting but just charging through the enemies and getting lucky ;)

You are referring to the Grim difficulty. I finally beat it last night. Took nearly an hour to finish that last stage, but did it fairly easily by being methodical. The first part on the bridges wasnt that bad since you can keep everyone in front of you for the most part. Just remember, which I think you already mentioned earlier, the fully upgraded shotgun is best on the Cutter (knive hands)and Screamers (along with fire). And on the last part where its a big open area, I made sure to have Mines available to place around me. Then make sure you grab the blue containers scattered around to refill ammo. Of course this will all be much harder on Morbid, but I would think the same tactics apply.
As far as darkness goes, I also turned up the brightness a bit, but the darkness didnt feel cheap to me. It is part of what the game is all about, you have to be on your toes and pay careful attention at all time. I think it provides great atmosphere to the game.

Most people have said that the game gets harder on co op mode not easier. When you play on co op its essentially increasing the difficulty(kind of like how in Diablo 2 every player that joins a game makes the enemies tougher).

Booooyaaaa bitches! Beat the game on Morbid. Was pretty tough and time consuming but not too bad if you took it slow. Especially that last area which I thought was uber difficult on grim. Part of the reason I found it uber hard was because I ran out of Ammo not realizing there were some chests here and there. I got swamped with enemies and panicked. This game I took things nice and slow and after taking out the big tough guys like the screamers and cutters I backed myself towards a corner and then slowly came out taking pot shots and slowly pressing forward. After I felt I had taken most of them out I explored for treasures and was suprised to find there were even a few health packs to help out. Made things MUCH easier finding those health packs and ammo resupplies...I actually beat the stage with like 90% health and like 80% of my ammo still in tact.

Personally I am hoping the surprise is a "survival" mode. Something where it puts you in a stage and the zombies constantly spawn and your only job is to stay alive as long as possible. Basically a score attack survival mode...hell I thought this game was that when I bought it, I was surprised to find a linear story instead. Was a fun game, but it needs more replay value and I would rather have something like that then a few more levels.

When you play 2 player I am pretty sure they up the difficulty. So chances are increasing it to 3 or 4 would just up it again and again kind of like it does in Diablo 2.

would like a 4 player co-op too. this game just begs it.
just requires some reshuffling of the user interface

The few of you that are hoping for big things with the "surprises" are probably expecting too much. If they were adding new modes/content, it would've been mentioned up front as a big part of the update.
I'm guessing if anything it's probably a demo.

The game won for the game of the year and will be 50% off tomorrow. I'm just worried that this will be a free psn game.

its a fun game defienlty has the mood down i got it at a discount though due to being a plus member id say wait and see if it ends up on sale during the spring sale.
Sounds like a plan. I got Dragon Age II coming out today anyhow. Thanks. :)

Looks like my sale is sooner rather than later. :)
Picked this up for 10 bucks or so. Worth every penny. What a fun little game. The way they used shadows and lighting is just crazy. Everything casts a shadow. Zombies look cool as shit when roaming around and light casts on them. They project a 20 foot tall shadow. Very cool.

Def getting this game now that its on a sale, and a game that focus's on co-op will have voice chat patched in. sad they didnt have that at launch. its what kept me from buying it in first week.

Played the first...chapter/mission? Fun game. I've never been a huge fan of top-down perspective but this one is manageable. Really liking the simplicity. Flares, Grenades, and 2 types of guns. You can dash and melee, no complicated control schemes. Might have actually considered buying this had I had a demo or something :)

I can't play online for some reason. Every single time I go to try it, I find another player, the connection is red or orange we get into a game for literally 1 second then it tells me You have been disconnected.
What's the deal with multiplayer in this game?

Thousands upon thousands of people flooding the servers, thats what.

But hey, free works right? ;p
It's pretty decent, I should go play it again some time.
And hey, syn, if you are ever up for some co-op action, lemme know.

Ahhh. So that might be what's causing the issue. I tried playing co-op with a buddy from CAG/PSN last night and we tried 2-3x or so and kept getting the 'disconnected' thing after a couple of seconds of playtime.
Then again, I'm sure the fact I'm on the base 'crap' speed DSL(768kbps) doesn't help matters.:):booty:
Fun game, though I would NEVER have paid $14.99 for this, but thanks to Sony it was FREE so I'm happy with it. Albeit some of these floods of zombies coming after ya are just WTF!?!?!

It keeps matching me with people in other countries too, then disconnects me, I find it hard to believe that this game gets that many players but it has to be because I have a good connection.

My local buddy who tried playing co-op with me last night actually tried three seperate times sending me invites and the result was the exact same. So I could only imagine if I got paired up with someone from another country.
Speaking of other countries, did you know the US is spending YOUR tax dollars to help pro democracy(cuz ya know democracy has worked out soooooo well here:roll:) activists in other countries circumvent the internet blocking some nations like China have put up to prevent their citizens from freely and openly communicating on the internet?

That's the line of the month right there. He's the guy that makes a girl eat all her dinner, finish her drink, and stay for the entire movie including credits even though she's basically sending the go signal. "Can you put your panties back on? I paid $20 for these movie tickets not including the extra large popcorn you insisted on."

It pertained to how our government can spend millions helping citizens of foreign nations to experience freedom of speech by using our tax dollars to circumvent their own nations' blocking programs, yet they can't be bothered to spend enough to prevent companies from gaining monopolies in areas and gouging out the wazoo for services(ie internet, phone, cable, etc).
I was wondering the same thing.
I'm wondering how the heck one has only 11 posts in almost six years here. No deal(s) get you excited enough to log in or to at least say thanks for helping me find a deal? No offense meant really, but I am super thankful every day I'm here and watch my backlog grow due to another insane deal I can't pass up.;)
Maybe I should actually post LESS, but I really think at times the site could eliminate or lessen some expenses if they'd just cut some of the chaff or at least require a certain level of activity to remain a member here.
There's people here that don't post for years or they only sign up to beg for a 48 hour XBL trial or post spam. I know Cheapy just put a first posting freeze on new members for X amount of time, but just like AOL used to have it, I really think the site could benefit from an inactivity boot.

Glad I got it for free, it's already getting a little repetitive in the 3rd mission. Play for a bit, areas which have been cleared suddenly have tons of zombies respawn, rinse and repeat. That the camera angle often blocks your view of certain alleys (or in the case of the park) complete areas of the level so you get cheapshot and it can get somewhat annoying. Maybe it is more enjoyable in coop.

While I agree, why here, but the following posts could also be faced with the same question. The immature follow up posts by others really paints a great picture.
At any rate, I decided to beat the game solo because the online was not working, now I don't even know if I want to play online when it's gonna be the same exact experience.
I always love free, but the pickings were slim as far as the Welcome Back program and it's a shame this was one of the best offerings.
For what it is, it's great, but I'd never pay to play this. I doubt I'll even end up playing LBP.

I do post there sporadically as well. Sorry for the OT thing. Back on topic, this is a hell of a game and well worth the price, but as guardian_owl said below free is about the right price.

Have you tried using the long range sniper mode on the main rifle with the infinite ammo to take out 2-3 zombies at a clip from a distance?
I started doing that when I'd see 3-5 of them milling about in a section above me.
But it seems like when one group of zombies 'screams' or whatever that tends to call in reinforcements.:-#

*Shrug* My first thought was to report his post, and truthfully, a few of the follow ups... but have you ever their warnings on that thing? Sounds like they really only want to hear about spam and nothing else.
Anyhow, more than willing to move on from that...

I actually bought this game as part of the spring sale and, well, really haven't done much with it... Truth be told when i got it I was just happy that they listened and patched voice chat into the game... so I really got it for the co-op...
Hopefully when the servers calm down I can find a co-op buddy for it...
PS You really should give LBP a try. Its pretty darn good. (Its also hard not to smile while playing it. The games got soul.)
