This was Wal-Mart's PS3 bundle that they labeled their "Father's Day" bundle so it's extra stock from WM, but it's the 2nd best PS3 bundle out there behind the MGS4/Killzone 2 BB bundle so it would be a great pickup, especially if you're a baseball fan.
Just make sure you get all the updates for The Show as there were some bugs that shipped with the game.

I jumped on this yesterday as I dont like the styling of the new slim. My sams had about 5 of these units in. FYI, I called my local wal mart who also had 1 of these bundles for 299.99.
Is MLB09 any good? Im not much of a baseball fan..It trades for 22.00 @ GS.

This deal is perfect for anyone jumping into the ps3 arena. It's fairly simple to get any game you want with it.
Buy the system, trade in The Show at gamestop and put the credit towards a preorder. This makes the game (22) *1.35 = 29.75. Use the 25% off coupon, with your edge (essentially making it 35% of) and you can get just about any game you want for $5 out of pocket. Plus, you get a nice blu ray.

I don't care for baseball either but as I understand it, that is THE baseball game. And as you said, it trades well too =)

MLB The Show is an awesome game. The presentation and atmosphere really capture true baseball, plus the game play is great. I've wanted this game all summer, so when I saw this bundle yesterday at Sam's for $296 I jumped all over it.
