View Full Version : Which to play first.. RE: Remake or RE: Zero?

Never played the Resident Evil games on any system before (seen the movies though) and am finally getting around to it on the GC to be ready for RE4.
Going to play them in order and was wondering if I should start with Zero or the Remake?
I know the Remake came out first but story/surprise-wise would it be better to start with Zero?
Any advice?

Personally I found Zero weak. It felt like an N64 game. REmake on the other hand is an amazing game, and probably one of the best to come out this generation

REmake. Zero's controls are the same thing but with an extra character and Capcom assumes you are already familiar with the controls. Plus, even though Zero takes place first, REmake is the first one, and makes Zero's story that much better once you have played and beaten REmake.

Overwhelming majority going with REmake, count me in. I believe the developers did set up REZero assuming you've played REmake. Controlling just one character in REmake also has a different feel; it makes you feel alone and stranded (aka $#!t outta luck). Crimson Heads.....RUN!

I would personally start with Dead Aim, since we all know that boats are better to kill zombies in than trains (0) and mansions (remake). Trains are too Will Smith's Wild Wild West, and mansions are more suited for the the Sims makin' magic. Hope this post will sway you in the best direction.

I say zero. Go in order, just make sure you play them both.

Is it the one that came with the horses? Cuz my b/f has that one and I'm looking at it right now, and it looks nothing like the one in your avatar. The eyes, nose, chin, hair, and ears are completely different. Were there other figures made?

Actually, RE: Gaiden doesn't take place in the series. I *think* it was suppose to but not anymore since in RE 4, Leon isn't infected. The story changed when it was shifted from PS2 to Gamecube.
Go with Zero first. Play them in order if you have both.
