Okay, I have a rule not to get Mobile OS X stuff (except a spreadsheet, because I have to have that), because:
1) You don't own it, it's all activation laden
2) Without a real controller, it's generally worse than a Gameboy 1.
But...okay, ID Software's Orcs & Elves on the DS is *amazing*. I played through the whole thing in one 24 hour period, which I NEVER do. It's easily one of the three most fun games I Played last year (along with Mass Effect and Metal Gear)...
Because of that, I'd love to play its sequel (I sort of think there is one?) and Doom RPG. I had no idea there was a Wolfenstein RPG...but I just accidentally stumbled across it in iTunes (searching for ID Software doesn't find it!)
I'm assuming it's at worst decent, and quite probably as fun as Orcs & Elves...so I want it, and $3 isn't bad (the screen shots appear to look really good too...
But of course I don't want to have to play it on a touch screen, and I'd rather own it. Plus one of the free games I got (Columns from Sega) isn't even stable-thing crashes within moments of launching.
So...why aren't these ID games hitting better platforms (or are they)? Should I go for it anyway? Is touch control totally broken for it? (Bear in mind, I abhor it generally.) And why the hey don't ID's RPGs get the attention they deserve? Orcs & Elves is like those old 3D RPGs from the late 80's/early 90's, except super super streamlined and just perfectly crafted-it's a real gem.
