Bestbuy replacement plan terms now changed?

I recently swapped out my 80G for a slim today (with my product replacement plan), which I paid originally at $400. This was just passed over a year. But they adjusted the price on the transaction so I only got credited at $300 instead of getting the $100 difference back. They said this had to be done since the price of the PS3 just dropped. I've used the replacement plan before in the past but now it is changed to geek squad black tie protection?

Is this something new or did bestbuy noticed too many people trying to swap out for slims to get the difference back? :roll:

i thinik someone said the terms changed in jan 2009.... you used to be able to take a system back and get a new system.. now they just repair them.. (if you got the system after jan 2009)

so if you take this system back you just get it repaired they will no longer replace..... maybe that is why you only got 300
