Why would you get a loyalty card to some hotel for preordering GTA: SA? It sounds like a pretty stupid preorder bonus to me.

It says Carl Johson, maybe it's not a real hotel, maybe it's a piece of game memoribillia.

Well if it says Carl Johnson on it...you can pretty much tell its a promo item. The hotel is probably a landmark you see in San Andreas.

Wow how stupid, I mean why the hell would you even do this?

It's better than paying full price and not getting a little piece of plastic. I'm cancelling my Gamestop Preorder to get this little piece of crap

It's more than likely a hotel in the game and it's just something cool to have, I guess.

The free overnight is the selling point right there...

If I was Rockstar, I'd give out a soundtrack sampler instead of a loyalty card
I haven't preordered this game, and I don't plan on it.

Hmm, so many options. Going to have to re-buy a PS2 to play this game and I have $80 trade-in at Gamestop and $55 for EBGames. So I might cancel pre-order at Gamestop and get a PS2 there for $100 pre-owned and then get this for $50 with 1-day shipping at eb.

I pre-ordered this a few days ago from EB, because of the next day free shipping. Nice to know they're giving me a bonus too, albeit a weak one.

Damn, it was delayed.
That just pisses me off...
Personally, I'm surprised they aren't offering more of a pre-order deal. This is going to be the hottest seller of the year, so you'd think they would want you to buy it from them.
Best Buy will probably have it for $40 the week of release, like they did for Vice City, so I think I'll wait for that until they offer something better here.

Just curious - are you a collector? Or do you just want to enhance the value for trading value status?

I think game companies and distibuters have finally figured out that giving away stuff with a preorder will help sell a game. So now they'll throw in anything and people will still buy it.

It was announced many weeks ago that the date was pushed back one week to coincide with the launch of the PSTwo.

You probably know this - Carl Johnson is the main character (C.J.) Perhaps that's what the hotel is named after you buy it in the game.

I've heard of a real hotel called Howard Johnson.

Yeah, I think the reason the release date got pushed back was so it could be released on the same day as the new PS2 mini console.
I'm not preordering it either. I live in a big city, and even if it does get sold out everywhere, I can wait until it's back in stock. I'd like to get it sooner than later but if I have to wait a while, it's no big deal.

How does one activate the free overnight shipping?
