Rogers Plus is selling Lips for $39.99, which is a pretty good deal for an okay game that comes with two wireless mics (which DO work with rock band). Especially good since pretty much everyone else is selling it for $69-$79.
If you're like me an need a new mic for Beatles Rock Band anyways, check it out.
(thanks to craig64 for pointing it out to me on the request board)

I've nearly pulled the trigger on this a few times, but reading the reviews it seems the pitch detection is terrible. People have aced songs by simply blowing into the mic.
I like Singstar because it tracks your pitch more accurately, and I can tell when I'm out (often) and correct it (sometimes).
Anyone who's played it have a different take? I can't get anyone to sing in Rock Band so 1 mic is good for me...

Thanks for the heads up, Opopanax. I can't seem to find it online, though.
Can someone post a link?

you're getting 2 wireless mics that light up and the lips game for $39.99 and you're still complaining? wow even some cagers amaze me. yes, but those glitches were patched and updated and if you do that then you obviously have no skill and are ruining the fun in the game for yourself and anyone around you. you want to sing but not have it to easy? try gh5 because singing on there is worst.

Lips is a blast. I'm pretty sure the issues have been (mostly) dealt with from updates.

$40 does seem like a good price, I'm gonna check out EB on Tuesday and see if they have any copies.

OMFG the mics light up?!!! Why didn't anyone tell me?!!!;)
Was this post a response to mine? If so, thanks for the info about the updates--could do without the personal attacks though.
I must have missed where I was advocating blowing into the mic instead of playing the game. ??
And yes I want a game that isn't too easy. Just as when I press an incorrect key-combo in Heavenly Sword i don't expect it to just "give it to me anyway", I don't expect to sing horribly out of key and still "ace" the song.
How would that be any fun?
Good to hear it's been patched though--might pick it up.
Thanks OP!

Yes, the mics light up and you might not like it but other people do and it's something girls actually like. Also, the singing is accurate and is not off pitch like others stated that is false otherwise i'd have so many achievements and have the highest score in the leaderboards. I for one have a deep voice and when I sing I have to be in tune. I can sing in lips and rock band, but whereas guitar hero it's just not for me. Save your time and money and just get the lips bundle if you can find it for this price because 1 wireless mic alone costs $49.99+tax. Hopefully now they'll let you import ya songs into the new lips coming out in october.

It's not super accurate, but it's not really built that way. It's really more of a casual party game, but it's fun enough, and there's really something for everyone in the song list.

wow, cheapest I've seen this bundle is 49.99 at The Source, gonna have to check EB since all the Rogers Plus stores near me don't even sell games... :(

I don't really have a Rogers near me (never heard of them, honestly). Is this something that you can get online? I still can't find it on the Rogers site.

I do believe the wireless microphones work with Rock Band. I am thinking about picking up a copy so I can use them for The Beatles: Rock Band.

The patch isn't out for RB yet, but the mics do work with RB:Beatles.
I'm really hoping to find the game soon. Can't someone give me a link?

If you've never heard of Rogers then you're probably from the US? This is the Canada board.

Aha!
That's why I haven't seen this thing updated in the Request a Deal forum.
Thanks for the info!

Did they actually scan the package or are they going by the tagged price?
On a related note if people want the wireless microphones for Rock Band, check to see if EB Games or Gamestop in your area has any used ones. I picked up a pair of microphones for $14.99 (less with the edge discount).

I checked the price at EB today and the CSR looked it up on the computer and said it was still $60. I have a feeling that the $40 price at Gamestop is in the US.
Oh well, looks like I'll have to check out Rogers to find this.

Edmonton 51st Ave scanned at $49.99. She looked into tomorrow's price changes and there were none for Lips.
Called a few local EBs--they're all out and not ordering more as its been discontinued. Replaced by "lips #1", whatever that is...

Thanks for the update. It seems the RB2 patch has been in the works since January. Most recently it was supposed to be released by the end of the week--last week.
I think I'll hold off until that patch actually exists. I've been burned before by unfulfilled promises (I'm looking at you Matrox 200 OpenGL support).

Well it actually exists now and thats kind of what I thought...I had the product in my hand 2-3 weeks ago and didn't purchase. I'm thinking thats a mistake now as all of a sudden its hard to find anywhere. I'm thinking it didn't help that Major Nelson posted the announcement on the dashboard. At least MS has more product shipping, but all with a single microphone (both by itself and in the Lips #1 Hits packaging in a week or two). Just not at the sweet price the two mics were last month.
I'm in Florida so Rogers Plus and the Source are out (they won't ship). Someone please post if you find it in US or orderable from the internet (and $60 or less, I think TigerDirect has it for $70).

I told you guys to buy it when the op posted it. 2 mics+a game for $50 or less was a bargain. Then add the fact that they're wireless and light up is even sweeter. The patch for them to work on rock band (+rb2) is out already and you can use this game with the beatles rock band, gh metallica, gh 5, gh smash hits, karaoke revolution, singstar and more future titles makes it worth the money itself.

Thanks for the update--picked up the last one at Kingsway. Now that the patch exists it is a good deal. ;)

Some guy on RFD says he got the Lips bundle for $27.50 at HMV, although it's twice the price on their website, YMMV?

Seriously now, WTF? Fiance plays Lips for a total of 10 minutes, accidentally drops her mic from a height of <2ft, and the mic breaks. Landed flat, not on its head, and now the mic has this horrible buzzing sound, only when singing.
Shoddy, shoddy shoddy. I mean, they encourage you to shake and strike the mic like a tambourine!! Are they looking for more mic sales?!
She feels terrible, and being a clearance item we'll be lucky to find another to exchange it with.
On a happier note, I've got to eat a little crow regarding the flashing mics. They're actually kind of neat. ;)

They offered. I turned it down, as I do all extended warranties. Managed to pick up another on the other side of town. The busted one will go back next week. Fiance said she'll handle it--sounded good to me. :)

I gave up looking for it at HMV and bought it at The Source for 39.96. They offered me the 3.99 protection plan, but as they didn't have any other bundle, and seeing how it's being discontinued for the new Lips bundle, I don't see how it would be useful. Manager agreed with me lol.

They do feel a little less than solid. The only place I really notice it is during tamborine parts in RB, though.

Rogers Plus is having a 50% off clearance games sale right now, which currently includes Lips which is selling for $50. After the discount, its $25! Just need to find a store that still has it. ;)

Yeah, with the mics. If you're looking to buy one in Vancouver I saw one package at the Rogers on Arbutus and Broadway. There's also 3 of them at No. 1 and Francis in Richmond.
