Most Sprint customers got an email today teasing a big announcement today.
Gizmodo caught on. (http://gizmodo.com/5355858/sprint-any-mobile-unlimited-calls-to-all-mobile-numbers)
Many people have called sprint (http://forums.precentral.net/palm-pre/202273-comfirm-unlimited-mobile-mobile-both-ways.html) and found out what it is. Some sprint reps (http://www.sprintusers.com/forum/showthread.php?t=193894) have already leaked what it is.
Basically any of their data plans will automatically get free calls (to and from) ANY other mobile carrier. The only catch is you can't be roaming for it to work.
Game changer? Maybe. But they certainly upped the ante.

So the only calls that will count on my minutes are landlines??? I'll believe it when I see it. That would be a game changer.

so by data plans im assuming internet usage plans?
not bad i'll just cut my minutes as low as possible and get unlimited internet use added. It should come out cheaper than what i pay now, plus internet.

We will find out tomorrow but that's what everyone is saying. Only landlines count.
Yes unlimited data plans are not cheap though. Cheapest is $69 I believe (but also include unlimited texting).
Sprint is still the cheapest, especially when you know how easy it is to get 25% off your recurring bill. Right now on Sprint I have 3 lines sharing 1500 minutes. 7pm N&W, unlimited data and text for about $118. Don't think you can come close to that on another carrier.

I got that email also, I have Everything Data 450 plan, so this would help ALOT, since I never call landlines...I would be using no minutes

I'd like you to explain all of that, if you would. That sounds like a great deal for myself and roommates.

I sent you a PM.
So it is official now (http://anymobile.sprint.com/). Free calls to and from any mobile phone.
I think this is huge, because the number one excuse people have when offered to switch providers is "I can't, all my friends and family use <insert overpriced provider> and calls are free!". That excuse is officially dead.

Sprint's done a good job to improve customer service in the past couple years, but many have been burned too bad by them in the past to ever go back. This along with the Pre might help folks come to Sprint this fall.

I will admit Sprint has horrible customer service. But I have never understood why I should turn down a good deal from them for being shitty on the phone. I don't call that often, maybe every six months. If I had to deal with them several times a week that's a different story.

I used to sell phones T-Mobile and Sprint, when people failed the credit check with T-Mobile I offered them Sprint, 90% of the time people just walked away and said fuck no!

Its a really good deal. It will work on Everything Data Plans or on Everything Plus accts. It will not apply to Sero or Employee Accts though
