Just saw this today at my local gamestop. Not sure if it's a temp price drop or what. But I saw the following games used now $9.99 each.
Playstation 2:
DDR Max
DDR Max 2
DDR Extreme
Xbox 360:
DDR Universe
DDR Universe 2
Has anyone else seen this at there gamestop?

Yah, looking online, I guess it is a recent price drop. From the looks of it, its a standard drop and not a promotion.

Avoid Extreme and anything after Extreme 2.

Oh I know all about the DDR games. Been playing since 2001 and have most of the usa games and some imports too. There is a way to turn off the corner buttons on extreme as well. You just have to use a action reply or something like it.
Avoid Extreme and anything after Extreme 2.
I know Extreme 2 and many of the older ones are considered the best of the bunch and have the most consistent track lists, but that is no reason to completely write-off other future entries which also have great tunes.

I'm not a big fan of the Universes, but all of the PS2 versions are great. They just made one bone-headed move in Extreme: the option to turn off face button input is hidden. It's not gone, but you can't access it without hacking the save file. The thing is, it's a really good mix. Simply Being Loved, Frozen Ray, V, A...

Wonderland, Never Ending Story (yes that song), B4U (B4 Za Beat Mix) , Your Rain (Rage Mix) from Silent Hill 4, Your Not Here (Silent Hill 3) and others.

Uh, which version of DDR has these?
I'll get on the DDR bandwagon for those.

Clearly you never played DDR X US.

I rather like DDR X. I did have to shut off the announcer, but I always shut him off, so that was no big deal. It's a great DDR game IMHO. To each their own....

DDR X licenses were actually pretty good I thought. You can get the game for 9.99 new at TRU.

Actually, I own it and really enjoy it.

The bad thing about X is you can't even fully turn off the announcer. Even after turning him off in the options menu he's still there half the time. Just not during songs. I kinda wonder if it's japan's f-you to america really. Like how it takes forever to load songs on the universe games too. Look at universe 3 too. Takes at least 10-15 seconds just to load a song. Look at all the frames per second problems in the xbox and 360 ddrs. It doesn't take 7 games to solve that problem. They just don't care.

The first two Ultramix games were actually developed by Konami's Hawaii studio (which closed in August 2006).

DDR junkies unite. Never got into the series myself, but at these prices I could give it a shot. I'm more of a Parappa the Rapper kind-of-guy.

Are there any good dance pads available for the Xbox 360?

It's funny how Konami of Japan is willing to forgo hundreds of millions of $$$ in potential sales just to give American consumers the shaft with crappy games. I bet when Pop'n Wii comes out in America it is shovelware even though the Japanese games are fantastic.
$10 is a good price on the PS2 ones. They were always hard to find for that cheap.

It IS shovelware and Japan gets it too.

Yeah forgot about that. Ziptai and such posting on ddfreak a lot about these games back then. I would think japan has final say on what's in the games and such though.
The ultramix games did have good stuff. Just that frames per second issue. Ultramix 2 was REALLY good song wise.

Agreement. UM2 was easily the best of the Xbox mixes, and may be my most played version aside from Extreme JP.
