Me and my clan are running out games to play. Can you suggest a free mmo that has enough people playing , good graphics and gameplay ,and a clan can play cooperatively together? We need a good free MMO because world of warcraft was costing our clan members to pay to much.

Schthack's runs a PSO private server after Sega shut down the official server, it's more of an action RPG then WoW but it's a hell of a lot of fun. Games are also 4 player instances, if you have a large clan. It's not much of a competitive game so if you're more of a premade BG group, I wouldn't play it. Here's a link. (http://www.schtserv.com/) As for population, there's usually 4-500 people on at any given time.
Ragnarok Online is another game abundant with private servers. It doesn't do the usual questing format like most MMO's but it's definitely unique. It's got great end game PvP and dungeons though, I'd look it up. It's very anime though if that kind of artstyle puts you off. As for population, there's usually 1000 people on the private server I play at any given time.

Check out Runes of Magic. I didn't play it long enough to form an opinion one way or the other but seemed decent for a F2P game.

I second this one. It defintely has a WoW vibe. There is a free expnasion right around the corner. Also, you can check out Guild Wars. It is not truly free to play since you have to buy the software, but with all of the expansions, there should be a good amount of content to keep you and your guild busy.

I second Guild Wars, it's kind of like Magic The Gathering meets a MMORPG and there are no monthly fees, but yes, you must buy the game (it is pretty cheap at most places now, even the bundled editions).
Also, D&D Online just went free (with optional microtransactions) and overall it is pretty good, especially if you already know the AD&D universe (if not, steep learning curve). I think this is the best of the truly free ones. http://www.ddo.com/playnow/
Shaiya is another freebee with optional transactions. It doesn't have the polish of WoW, but it seems to have a large community (especially in its homeland of Korea). I played it for about 20 hours and thought it was way too 'grindy', but it seemed like there was a lot of depth to it (in Character custimization). http://shaiya.aeriagames.com/
Keep in mind, I don't MMORPG much, so I hope these recommendations work for you. Try the trial on Guild Wars and install the others, the worst you'll loose out on is some time in your day 8-)

Runes of Magic is good. Like most MMOs, it's a huge time sink. They also released their expansion, The Elven Prophecy, two days ago.

Lol *sighs* the problem with these games are people cheat and use bots/macros and find ways to take an unfair advantage which screw up the games economy and user friendly atmosphere in the game itself. that is why I quit a few years ago. I was a big MMO fan boy but now, I just go out with friends and play soccer or watch a movie or have boondah.

Fly for Fun, aka FLYFF, is a great alternative IMO, and i fucking love that game, it has 3 HUGE worlds.
Just make sure you all pick the same server to play on. :)

And no its not a web based game, you litterally play full screen with a world of 3d graphics and real people. and some NPC's.

I have played Runes of Magic since launch. Pretty good game all around. I did quit a month ago due to a bunch of mmo/guild bullshit. But Its a solid FtP game. Highly suggest if you like wow. Hopefully they added some sweet end game with this expansion. If your looking for a free mmo, I love watching the questing series on Youtube. Good reviews on stuff. um... http://www.youtube.com/user/CirrusEpix

Like someone said Dungeons and Dragons online just recently went up as a free to play.
Its an good game, still would much prefer to play WoW even though they just made it so much easier than it already was, yet it has a huge learning curve. I play and just wonder wtf does some shit even mean haha.

Dungeons and Dragons is free but filled with mirco-transactions. An example is that the level cap is 4 and dungeons are locked unless you pay for it.

Very easy to get a copper level sigil as an end-quest reward to get you to level 8. All my characters have gotten one with no issue. Don't know how hard silver, gold, and platinum sigils will be to get for free though.

Shaiya and Kal Online aren't bad if you don't mind a large Korean based community. Runes of Magic isn't bad either, to me it seemed to have a lot in common with WoW. I haven't given D&D a shot yet, but since it's free, it's worth a spin imo.

Earmuff why dont you give us lists of games you played before?
So we know if what we want to request is not yet in your games list.

I thought I posted on this thread already... but here are my thoughts:
Dungeons and Dragons Online, nuff said. Became free to play just this month and so far it's been a fairly solid re-release. Somewhat large preexisting player base, optional subscription, and since it was a full fledged MMO before the conversion, it has that large production value usually associated with a high-budget game. Also, since it's a non-Korean free MMO, it should be highly accessible to ex-WoW players. This is currently holding my number 1 pick of free MMO of choice.
Another one is Dungeon Runners, or atleast I think it has clan support. It's by NCsoft, same people who runs Guild Wars and Lineage. More like D2 in gameplay so it might not be what you're looking for.
If you want something a bit more "korean", then you could pick from (and I played these):
Dragonica
Requiem
Cabal Online
Maple Story
etc etc

I know there is a level cap on the intro island, but I have not heard of a level cap on free players, at all. You could go past the 4th level as soon as you leave the first island. Also keep in mind that DDO's leveling system is somewhat slower than WoW's
If it's somewhere, can you provide a link. I'll go comb Turbine's website on this, but currently, I know this is not the case.
EDIT: More info on the numerous tiers of DDO membership can be found here (http://www.ddo.com/vip) and there is no mention of a level cap for freeloaders.
Also, you could unlock all of those additional levels if you're patient enough too. I was reading a guide to the cheapskate's way to unlock everything in DDO, and I'll update this post once I find it in my history, so you technically don't have to pay Turbine a shiny red cent at all.
EDIT TO THE EDIT: Found that guide, found at the official forums (http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?p=2396345#post2396345) (ironically enough, I found a really helpful topic in our own CAG forum (http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=236099)) If you want, you could treat the unlock process as a type of progression tree. That should keep you guys busy for some time :)

Aion is having a free open beta right now.
Exteel is pretty neat too.. free to play. Kind of like an MMO Armored Core.

been having fun with Dungeon Fighter. Even if your not really looking for an MMO, its a great little beat'em up. And unlike most MMOs, it isn't something that you have to really keep up with either. Only thing that really sucks about it is good luck trying to talk as you get gold spammed non-stop.

Yeah just started DDO last week myself. There's a bit of a learning curve for someone not familiar with DnD (like me) and a lot of ways you can screw up building your character. But the game has a lot more polish than most free MMOs I've ever tried.
As mentioned, I easily got an item that extended me to level 8. Just hit 4 last night.

Yet another vote for DDO. If you haven't played D&D 3.5 before it has a hell of a learning curve, but it's a damn good time.
It's focused on short(ish) dungeons and quests than killing things. You'll have puzzles to solve, traps to dodge, ambushes to deal with and a lot of secret doors and chests.
I just hit level 5 with my monk, and yeah, I did spend money to get that class. Having a blast with it.

Flyff was fun when I played it. It's been a while though.
I don't remember whether I played Runes of Magic or not, but I'll definitely give it a try. I mostly play WoW nowadays anyway. Here's looking forward to the next expansion!!
