So, I have an old ass laptop that doesn't recognize my SD Card Adapter that has a 4 gb mSDHC card in it (but it does recognize a 1gb mSD). I don't have a phone/hub that can read the mSDHC card to use it as an "adapter." I also have a 4GB MemStick that my laptop can read through my PSP. If I buy a MS/mSDHC adapter, will my laptop magically be able to read the mSDHC card?

Your memory card reader has to be specifically designed to recognize SDHC cards, and it sounds like since your laptop is too old to have that functionality. The adapters you linked wont work because they can't change the type of cards your laptop can read.
You need an external SDHC card reader. You should be able to find one for $20-$30 at Best Buy or Wal-Mart.
I'm not sure if this link will work, but this is what you need: SDHC Card Reader (http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=9119438&st=sdhc+card+reader&lp=1&type=product&cp=1&id=1218029378008)

I use SanDisk MobileMate card readers and they work great, I have used them on laptops and I haven't come across a memory card that hasn't been readable yet. The best part about the SanDisk readers are that they are very portable and relatively inexpensive.

Can my PSP act as an SDHC reader?
Will look into those though, thanks.

the previous posts are true but not really the CAG way. I have a laptop that wouldnt read a 8 gig sdhc micro. I looked all over to find the solution and i did. Unfortunately i do not have the link. Search for it in google and you'll find a driver for it. I wouldn't spend money just to have a card read as a driver fixed my problem. Mine would only read up to 4 gigs and i believe the driver i downloaded specifically allows it to read sdhc cards. When i inserted my 8 gig micro with the sd adapter, it wouldn't even recognize it before i downloaded the driver. so yea, try to find the driver first before spending the loot
i highly doubt ur psp will allow your computer to read it. Theres a problem with that solution. You have to buy a micro sd to pro duo adapter to find out. and this isnt even a sure thing. When i inserted my 8 gig sdhc to my phone and connected it to my PC, it wouldnt recognize it without the driver. good luck on finding that driver. btw, the driver i found was for windows xp sp2

The PSP will only read SD cards with an adapter so it would be easier to just have a dedicated memory card reader without needing to have the PSP. As far as a driver that can be updated to allow your laptop to read the card it probably depends on how old your hardware is. I used to use an old Dazzle Smartcard reader and there were no more updates for it after that company was sold. Since High Capacity SD cards are fairly new check for updated drivers from the manufacturer, just in case.

The easiest way to just get this USB adapter (http://www.amazon.com/Kingston-Generation-microSD-Memory-FCR-MRG2/dp/B0028R3NCU/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1254591255&sr=1-2). I think everyone else above have already given you enough suggestions. The memory stick method might or might not work, I can't tell you for sure as I have not tried it.
