Damn, just read this news:

http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=794&e=3&u=/eo/20041004/en_movies_eo/15068

So is it just me or is John Woo completely schizophrenic? First he's doing Metroid, then it's Spy Hunter, now it's He-Man...I'm sure I missed a couple more in there. I know he's dying for a hit, but can't he nail down a project and just stick with it? He's turning into another Uwe Boll...

Didn't he do the Hulk? Does he have a fetish about muscle bound men?

Ang Lee did the Hulk.

Ang Lee did the Hulk.

Okay. Now I don't have to worry about John Woo going all freakky the the guys who did the Matrix.

I don't know if he has the right view to do a He-Man, he should stick to action city gunfights.

I have not looked forward to any of Woo's films since he burned me with Face Off. I just hope he does not ruin He-Man. I loved He-Man when I was a kid.

The first He-Man movie didn't ruin it for you? http://imdb.com/title/tt0093507/

He has the rights for the other movies (Metroid, etc.) but the news is reporting that he will direct He-Man. A big difference in my book.

...i have a book? Sweet!

I dont know if we should get all ga-ga about this rumor. Supposedly he was first in line to direct the new Transformers movie and that didn't happen. Then he was in talks up until lately for GI Joe. Alot of these cartoon to movie rumors have been going around for a while. As far as a metroid movie I hope he does do it and doesn't just sit on the possibility. A He-Man movie would be cool if they can use the original concept and not some spiritual journey BS, like Ang Lee's HULK. I'm still waiting for the american Parasite Eve movie. Madonna has the movie rights to that and she hasn't done shit with it. I guess we will have to sit and wait. Sorry for the rant.

I never liked He-Man anyway. To much of a homosexual vibe going on there for my tastes.

Not that there's anything wrong with that.

John Woo used to be so great with the "Killer" and "Hard-Boiled" and "Bullet in the Head"

Now he's been turning out crap. The only good American movie he made was "Face-Off"

I can see it now... Instead of turning into a falcon, the Sorceress will turn into a flock of doves. :)

Can a movie like He-Man truly be made today, without totally sucking?

I can just see it now...animal rights activists protesting He-Man riding Battle Cat around. Why do goddamned hippies have to ruin everything?

Ang Lee lives in my town, I'm not even in a great neighborhood or anything, his kids go to the middle school that is connected to my HS, one of the kids from school of rock goes there too.

A little late for this, aren't we? I mean... after the original toy-pusher... err... I mean series died, we got that ass of a movie with Dolph 'The Punisher rawked' Lundgren as He-Man, then that retched spinoff cartoon 'The New Adventures of He-Man' or something (which made Captain Power seem almost Shakespearean by comparision - live on, Sauron Sky Sentry!), and then we got the revival on Cartoon Network last year that maybe 8 people cared for (Cue the Guinness guys: 'Hey, let's take the old series and do it all over again, and THIS TIME we'll use it as a vehicle to sell toys...' "Use it as a vehicle to sell toys? Brilliant!')... oh yeah, I say it's high time for a He-Man movie...

OK, in that case you're one of the few who ISN'T hypocritical (about that kind of stuff). Normally if a girl says something about liking or not minding homosexuality, guys will deem them crazy or make a big deal out of it, but most who complain are sooooooo hypocritical about it.

The difference is that girl on girl doesn't involve anal penetration, usually.

...and then we got the revival on Cartoon Network last year that maybe 8 people cared for...

Hey, I cared for the new series! It had great direction (more in style to Japanese anime than American animation) and a good story. If I wasn't so tempted by all the distractions of the Big Apple, I might have stayed home on a Friday night to take in more of it (along with Samurai Jack).

Is that series even still on?
