View Full Version : Snow White BD $10.00 after $10 coupon at Amazon

Amazon is currently offering a $10 discount off the purchase of the Blu-ray of 'Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001V9LPWQ)'. Just input the promotional code "snowhite" (only one W) at checkout. If used on the combo edition with Blu-ray packaging, this brings the final price to $9.99; but it allegedly also works on the other different BD editions of the movie.

What is the difference between the version that amazon has for $24.99 and the one that is $25.99?

one is bluray packaging and the other one is a dvd packaging. just different color slip cover. thats what i think.

most people dont care about a metallic box for their movies.

personally i dont think the extra case is worth $10+ in this case.

having said that, i hope this pops up in my goldbox... my BD buy limit is like 13$ =P

There is a $10 printable coupon making it about $16-17 so moot in this case.

What is the difference between the version that amazon has for $24.99 and the one that is $25.99?Both versions come with the DVD and the BR, though it's a packaging choice, either BR packaging or DVD packaging.

There is a $10 printable coupon making it about $16-17 so moot in this case. It's supposed to be $25.99 on release, so it'll be $15.99 AC. Tax should bring it up to about $17-$17.50 for most people, so it'll be about $2.50 for the steelbook's "cost".

I think I can deal with $2.50 for the steelbook over the non-steelbook version.

I am not sure if anyone cares but if you buy Snow White, Along with Tinkerbell and the lost Treasure, you get an automatic $8 discount + $10 code is a good deal for both. I know not everyone will want Tinkerbell, but my kid loved the first one so this is a good deal to me.

How are you getting that $8 to apply I tried adding both and it just gives me the $10 discount? Nevermind it has to be the lower priced Snowwhite 24.99 in cart or $8 discount won't apply. Thanks Op my daughters love Tinkerbell.

Not sure if this is common knowledge or not, but you only need 1 cent to get free shipping on this since Amazon still considers this a $24.99 product.

I'd definately pay $2.50 for a steelbook, but going to bestbuy to preorder and going back again to pick up for a movie I haven't watched since I was 8 years old seems like a lot of work, especially when I have amazon prime right now.

It'll be $24.99 less what you paid (and the upgrade coupon, if you have it).

ChunkyLover78
09-25-2009, 04:28 AM
u can technically cancel your preorder at bb and keep the steelbook.. that is what they told me.. and what i did. although my receipt only said the 7.50+tax on the preorder and doesnt list the 14.99 steelbook price and subtracting that to 0

shrike4242

It'll be $24.99 less what you paid (and the upgrade coupon, if you have it).I didn't see it had dropped to $24.99, so that's one less dollar I need to worry about. Looks like the steelbook "difference" in price is just tax on $14.99 over the Amazon price without it.

u can technically cancel your preorder at bb and keep the steelbook.. that is what they told me.. and what i did. although my receipt only said the 7.50+tax on the preorder and doesnt list the 14.99 steelbook price and subtracting that to 0The steelbook has a "value" of $14.99, so it's entirely possible that you'll get hit with that charge if you return the movie minus the steelbook. IMO, I doubt that would happen, though if it was really "free", there wouldn't be a $14.99 charge for it when you bought it on its own.

I posted about the $8off a few months ago, it was some weird glitch that took it off automatically when ordering Snow White and Tinkerbell together.

Well regardless of the matter, I E-Mailed Amazon about the "snowhite" promo code and they credited $10off to my order. I get Tinker Bell and Snow White for $31.98.

Mine already shipped and they didn't deduct the $5, so I sent an email and they answered within minutes. They said I should see a $5 refund on my credit card in 2-3 business days.

I was ready to throw a hissy-fit if they said no to the refund, lol. I currently have hundreds of dollars worth of games and blu rays preordered and I've spent over $1000 on amazon in the past year or two. They've built up some strong customer loyalty with me and they would have lost it all over $5 if they didnt refund. Thank you Amazon.

it depends because last minute changes like this often DON'T take effect unless you e-mail them. Also orders with Goldbox promo or the 'snowhite' promo code won't make it so the order can be further discounted to the price ......amazon is weird like that....

I get the pre-order price guarantee automatically about 1/3 of the time.

The other 2/3rd of the time, I have to email them, usually twice, and I get a lecture about how the POST-order price guarantee is no longer in effect, but as a "one time courtesy" they'll give me the credit.

Yeah I know. I'm saying that was the only promo I could find any info on related to that disc that was for $5 credit, so whatever you have is unique to you.

And the code snowhite is single use only. You'd need to try it on a different account to get it to work again, assuming it's still active.

Edit: I tried ordering on a different account with just the snowhite code and it only takes off $10 per copy. No additional discounts or "Thank you" promo.

Some people are saying on blu-ray.com that the "Snow White Thanks" $10 is showing up on their next movie order after snow white shipped. YMMV.

I got a reply email saying that I'll have $5 refunded by October 8. Good enough.

This seems correct. I was reading this thread and after seeing this post, I went to Amazon and put a blu disc in my shopping cart and $10 off 'Snow White Thanks' appeared

Ah, that would explain it. Weird how under the radar that Snow White Thanks promo is.

I just tried with a couple Blurays (Star Trek, one of the Bond boxes) and no $10 discount for me. :(

Did your Snow White order ship? Plus it does take x amount of time for the credit to appear in your account.

To give more info on my earlier post, I only ordered one Snow White. I pre-ordered it back in April and the Thanks promo was waiting for me.

Still don't see the promo in my account, and I haven't gotten my pre-order price guarantee automatic adjustment (although another CD I ordered, in a different order, that released yesterday DID automatically get the adjustment).

As good as Amazon is, the occasional randomness of their promotions/etc can be maddening. I guess I'll have them call me after lunch to ask why I haven't gotten the price guarantee yet.

The Blu-ray version's DVD disc does not have any Special Features, right?

But is EVERY feature on there on Blu-ray anyway?

Please respond to this.

Also is there ANYthing in the Blu-ray version that's NOT in the DVD version, Vice versa?

Disney Reward do you get the same amount of points in both the Blu-ray packaging and DVD packaging?

the blu ray packing has the same exact contents as the dvd packaging. there are both 2 blu ray discs with all the features and bonus material and i believe the 1 disc dvd with only the film.

This showed up in my gold box today so I got it for $8.99. I also got an email for a $5 video on demand credit. Hopefully I'll get the snow white thanks promo too once it ships out.

What about Disney Movie Rewards Code points. Do Blu-ray packaging contain MORE points than DVD packaging?

What about Disney Movie Rewards Code points. Do Blu-ray packaging contain MORE points than DVD packaging?

Every past Disney :br: has had 125 Disney Points, and since the ACTUAL DVD release is still 6 weeks away, I think both of these releases will have 125 Disney Points.

FYI: I got the :br: case version and it had 125 points

to the dude who is asking for the email; here is what I got from Amazon although it does not list a reference number on my iPhone. I suppose I can look on my laptop at home when I get home. Also, I removed the link yo my order info:

We automatically added the promotion to your existing order, and

So where is the link to this Printable $10 off coupon that seems to be talked about here?
I'd prefer to pick this up at BB.

Update:
OK I found the printable coupon.
I noticed the coupon says expires 10/10/09.
I hope that means it's good through 10/10/ 09.

Yeah the DVD case also contain 125 points for Disney Rewards

WOW the Plush set (2.16 times more cost) have 2300 Points (18.4 times more)!?!

Hey anyone with that don't need these points, PLEASE give them to me!!! :D

EDIT: Ok I may misread, a plush set cost 2300 points to redeem on DisneyMovieRewards.com, not how much comes with it when you buy the plush set for $52
