Context: I have a PS3, DS and Wii, never had a Xbox / Xbox 360. GTA 4 episodes disc coming on Oct 2009 make me want a X360 and $150 deal on Arcade in end of Sept 2009 makes me want to have one really soon!

I do not really like online / multiplayer playing, so better online for X360 is not a factor for me.

Question: Which x360 exclusives you guys enjoyed so much that it justifies getting the console for someone with a PS3?

I read about Halo/Fable/Gears of War/Forza.... but I was looking for insight about which games made you buy/really enjoy your X360.

Thanks!

XBLA marketplace; seriously (except for the fact that, y'know, you need an HDD). And you don't need Live to buy games, just points.

Geometry Wars 2 is still my most played game of the two 'HD' systems.

Thanks for answer poiuiu. I did not think XBLA had games that gamers enjoyed a lot.

I might get a HDD, could buy one with EB credit (but I could not buy my Arcade there, they do not want to drop Arcade prices for the week like everyone else... grrr) I know I would need one to get all advantages of a X360.

$139 for Arcade (BB $10 coupon) VS $329 for Elite was too much gap not to buy an Arcade (also considering that new Arcades are sure Jasper, while many Elite bundles are not Jasper).

The reason I bought my 360 was for Gears of War, and never regretted it. I really liked Gears of War 2 as well. If you're not a big fan of online gaming I wouldn't really recommend Halo 3. I felt the single player was meh while I ended up putting a lot of time into the multiplayer. I personally prefer Forza over the GT series just for the sheer amount of customizations available and I am big on the livery editor. Fable 2 was decent, nothing spectacular. However, my favorite game on the system, any system for that matter, is Mass Effect. Going forward, there is Splinter Cell Conviction, Alan Wake, Crackdown 2, and Mass Effect 2.

As a FYI- Dell.com, 5% Bing, $50 Rebate, Free Shipping for the Elite is an amazing deal.

Games I've really enjoyed:
-Viva Pinata Series
-Tales of Vesperia (will no longer be exclusive in Japan, may be changing in US as well)
-Eternal Sonata (at the time it was an exclusive)
-Star Ocean
-XBL Arcade --- seriously. Castle Crashers, Droplitz, Splosion Man, etc, etc, etc.

Thanks for your answer, my thread was in Canada's subforum but I did not specify it in my thread. Buying in US would be a big hassle.

Elite's pricing in Canada is really bad right now ($329 canadian) and Wal-Mart Canada has a very good deal on X360 Arcade ($149 canadian), so the difference between the 2 is about $180 Canadian!!!

PS3 version won't be coming here.
-Star Ocean
PS3 International version has already been announced for english (and 4 other text languages).

-XBL Arcade --- seriously. Droplitz,
This is also on PSN as well iirc.

I've also wanted to jump into the xbox360 scene as well because of the price. I'm still deciding if I want to get it or not but for 149.99.. mannn got me thinking. lol. I have so many games for my ps3 that I don't know if I am going to have time to play this if I get it.. but man 149.99 is such a good deal.. sigh. Also scared of the RROD. I'm paranoid like that.

Apologies, just saw the thread title, didn't even realize the subforum.

Star Ocean will be over to PS3 in Japan, but who knows if it will end up in NA like Eternal Sonata... or not like ToV.

Droplitz is multiplatform, but my love for the arcade as a whole is far greater on the XB.

I'm with blu_yu_away; I have a habit of buying games, playing them for a little bit, then completely forgetting them (Dark Sector, Lost Odyssey, MGS3 all come to mind) but I've played Mass Effect three times thus far, and I'll most likely play it once more before Mass Effect 2 comes out. Great storyline, great combat, great characters, I mean it's truly a great game!

I'm also a huge Halo 3 fan, and if you play the trilogy as a whole, it won't disappoint. I played and beat Halo 2 on release day, and I tell you, waiting 3 years for Halo 3 was no picnic. The online is spectacular as well, if that's something you become more interested in in the future.

I played Gears of War, but was never "hooked" like some other gamers; I felt the story was really thin, and I'm a huge fan of epic stories. Fable 2 was also a great game, and one that I've beat twice already. Similar to Mass Effect in a lot of ways, actually; morality issue, lots of quests to complete, enthralling story, and first-rate production value!

Other than those three, there are multi-platform releases that will be just as good on the PS3; personally, I try to lean towards X360 releases since I am much more fond of the 360 controller (although, Rocketfish has just released a 360 controller clone for the PS3, so I'll have to give that a go!). Some people also forget some gems from the original Xbox era that are still spectacular to this day; Halo, Halo 2 (as mentioned), Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, Jade Empire and Panzer Dragoon Orta, to name a few. Of course, you will need a hard drive in order to play the old Xbox titles on your new Xbox 360 :). Hope that helps!

Thanks for answer poiuiu. I did not think XBLA had games that gamers enjoyed a lot.

Yeah, most of the stuff on XBLA is pure crap. Like the kind of stuff that indie developers user to try and pass of for free online and nobody cared about... But there are some gems in there. Get Shadow Complex :D That alone makes a 360 purchase worthwhile ;)

Thanks for your answers guys, it is appreciated and I am sure other users will find it useful.

Seems like many people liked Mass Effect, saw this name a lot here on CAG and RFD for deals/TIV/Etc, but did not think it was such a great game.

I will probably keep this Arcade baby once Bestbuy.ca has stock again and my order ships.

Halo 3 and Halo ODST both have only decent SP games, neither will blow you away as they are both geared towards MP.

The GOW games are both great no matter how you play them.

Shadow Complex is probably one of my favorite games this year and it's only on XBLA.

Fable 2 and Mass Effect are both good RPGs (Although IMO not as good as Oblivion or Fallout 3 which you may already have on PS3)

That's off the top of my head. For the most part, I think the best games this gen are available on both systems so there aren't really too many must-have games exclusive to either one.

Gears of War/Halo are the main exclusives (that stay exclusive) that push the 360. Halo is what shaped the xbox the way it is today. Gears of War is one of the 360's best franchises that combines an intense action feel of a movie into a video game. Other than those, i cant think of any other standout games on the system.

In terms of RPGs that arent gonna be on the PS3, there's Last Remnant, Lost Odyssey & Infinite Undiscovery. I dont know too much about them (maybe someone can help fill in some info about these games) but I think they were supposed to be okay.

The 360 also has awesome games like Rumble Roses XX & Dead or Alive Xtreme 2 (if ur in to that sort of thing)

And lastly from what i can remember, they also have Dead or Alive 4 which was a cool fighting game IMO.
