Both versions on sale

Blu-ray/DVD combo 235794
DVD/Blu-ray combo 235799

Ad also mentions a $10 online coupon offer for 4 days only.
(10/6-10/9 Go to www.snowwhiteoffer.com (http://www.snowwhiteoffer.com))
I don't know if this will be the same type of coupon that is already available right now.

Site is coming up now as page not found, maybe will work only during the 4 days next week??
Edit: Looks like site is up and running now.

Also, if you pre-order your copy of Snow White in store before release, you will get a $5.00 gift card when you pick up your movie.

Ok, so the ad from 10/4 to 10/10 shows a BD version price at $19.99?

Their website shows $29.99.

Can't you just cancel the pre order and keep the steel book? Even though that's like really wrong the steel book is really nice. I mean were all looking for the cheapest price here and if TRU's got it cheaper I'm going there.

Yeah I looked at the price on the TRU site and it says $29.99 for both versions.

Man I preordered the dang movie and BB and opened my SB already too. How much was it at BB again for the BR?

hmmm....I already have it preordered at amazon for $14.99 and REALLY hate TRU after all the other bullshit but if I can get a $5 gc and the blu-ray for $10 I might have to bite. I will need to see an ad scan before I cancel my preordered though....god I hate TRU though.

I'm horribly confused by these two products. Best I can tell, it looks like the same product (Movie on blu-ray and DVD, and a blu-ray disc of extras), just packaged differently. One in a blu-ray sized case, one in a DVD size?

I think the back of the steelbook says what happens if you don't pick up your pre-order in the 10/06/09 - 10/20/09 timeframe. I'm going to check mine and see what the issue is. As long as you can return the pre-order and not have to pony up the money for the steelbook's "value" then I think I might preorder and pick it up at TRU for $5 net after the GC.

They both have the same discs inside, just one is a BR case and one is a DVD case.

GAH, screw you Disney and Toys R Us actually making me buy my first Blu ray disc even though I don't have a blu ray player. And just making sure, the dvd part is the actual movie, right? I'm not going to take this home and find out the dvd copy is something stupid like extras. The coupon page says good on the blur and dvd combo pack, but the coupon says when you buy it on dvd or bluray. I'm going to have to talk to the wife and see what she wants to do.

From what I read off the back of the BB steelbook cover, if you don't pick up the pre-order by the 25th (I think it was the 25th), you can refund the pre-order. What I don't know is if they'll want the pre-order steelbook back or not.

Why would you return it in the first place? It's basically $7.50 for the steelbook case and whatever you're paying for the BR. In this case, $10 out the door AC with a $5GC. So net $17.50 plus tax gets you the BR, steelbook case and $5GC.

What is BB going to do if you don't pick up your PO? They don't have any means to collect and who cares if they cancel it? Am I missing something?

It's unclear about it needing to be returned with the pre-order return, so that why I'm unsure of what they'll do if I try to cancel out the pre-order.

I'll have to wait to the 25th and find out.

It seems if you pre-order "Up" the $5.00 off another DVD/Blu-ray promo must be on the same receipt as the "Up" pre-order itself. So it seem the best way to combine both the "Snow White" promo and the "Up" promo is to pre-order "Up" in the same transaction as paying off your balance for "Snow White".

p.s.
In the ad it shows the price of the "Up" Blu-ray as $34.99 wont it be a lower price on its week of release?

How does TRU handle canceling preorders? i.e. if Up is really $35, I won't buy it. Seems to make sense to preorder the UP anyway when picking up the Snow White as the $5 for preorder - $5 for buying both nets $0, so not losing anything.

Just a side note to those who pre ordered and getting 2 or more copies at TRU. Purchase all your movies in different transactions. The $5 gift card has no activation restrictions. Use the $5 gift card from the first purchase toward the second movie and so on to help bring the overall costs down.

yep, similar thing for me. bunch of idiots. i did not get a gift card. basically:

19.99
-10.00 coupon
- 5.00 deposit
- 5.00 discount from preordering UP
+ 5.00 deposit on UP
= 5.05 (after tax)

but they would not give me a gift card. i ended up saying "screw it" on UP and they just manually discounted the gift card on Snow White. i only paid $0.05 today.

was hoping to pay 5.05 and get the $5 gift card (to use on next week's B2G1) plus have $5 deposited toward UP. oh well, rather not give them more business anyway and hope Amazon or Best Buy has a better deal for UP.

basically, they claimed the UP promotion can only be used on a regular Disney movie, not a presell (wtf?)

Make sure they give you the gift card as it is not ringing up in the system automatically. I was there at 10 EST and I had to have a manager come over and fix it. She just ended up giving me 5off the purchase.

For those of you with daughters out there, add 5.01 to the purchase on any disney princess item and you will get a free princess baking set. I got a Mulan doll, Snow White BR, & Princess Baking set for 10.66 total. The items will ring and take the free item off. Then give them the 10 vender coupon.

When I complained the manager that came over told me what I said in my last post. From posts above, it looks like there's some glitch in the system that isn't having the card come up automatically.

I don't think that the terms & conditions of the $5 GC are listed on the pre-order card or at the store, so they're just making up something about it not being applicable. The coupon comes from Disney itself, so it's not like it's some third party in the middle of the mess.

I'll try it tonight at the SoCo store and let you know what happens.

Same thing happened to me this morning, no gift card prompt in the system. I had to wait 10 minutes, but they eventually just gave me a five dollar gift card.

I didn't notice until I left that my combo came in a regular DVD case, but it still has a Blu-ray in it. Is there a combo that comes in a Blu-ray case? I thought about going back, but I could see how that would just cause the CSR's head to explode.

Then give them the 10 vender coupon.

can i get the gift card even if i did not pre order it?

No.

Even if the system isn't automatically ringing up the $5 GC with preorder, the only proof you'd have of the deal is the preorder card which shows the GC owed at pickup.

Well, this deal started off rough but ended very well.

I went in to pick up the pre-order Blu Ray and tried to give them the manufacturer's coupon. No go. Wouldn't scan for some reason, so I had to drive home and print up a new one. Went back and had them re-try it. Everything worked, the message even popped up about the $5.00 gift card. Then the cashier tells me my total.

$.35
and add on the $5 I put down for a total of
$5.35

So yeah, I ended up getting the BD version and a $5.00 gift card for the price of the gift card plus tax for only the cost of the gift card. Glad I didn't give up after the first coupon failure.

I had the same problem with my coupon not scanning correctly, though they just used another coupon they had on hand. They said I was the first coupon to not scan correctly this morning. I've never had problems with my printer before, so I'm not sure what the problem was.

The system also wasn't accepting the combination of the coupon and the gift card offer, so I had to wait around a bit while they figured it out. They said there was one person who'd come in before me who had both the pre-order card and the coupon, but he didn't want to wait while they figure it out. Guess he was in a hurry 'cause that gift card effectively halves the cost!

They ended up manually readjusting the price of the item to give me credit back on a gift card. When I looked at the receipt later, I realized that the computer had also readjusted tax, so they actually gave me $5.49 on the gift card!

Went to Heath OH store after work. Did not have a preorder for it. $5 GC automatically came up at checkout and used $10 coupon. I did purchase a 5.99 princess item so I got the baking set free. My total was $17 after tax plus I have a $5 GC to use.

I also somehow got screwed out of $5.00 on this, even though I did end up with the $5.00 gift card I dont think I ever got the my original $5.00 back off the movie for pre-ordering it. My receipt is so hard to understand because I also pre-ordered "Up" and bought a $45.00 toddler bedset for my son so I could use a $10.00 off a $50.00 purchase coupon I had around. So that $10.00 discount is pro-rated over all three item that are on my receipt, and its confusing as hell to look at.

picked up my 2 copies from TRU - wound up being $15 total out of pocket since i used the first $5 gift card to pay for 2nd copy. I also went ahead and pre-ordered 2 copies of Up! since it was the same price otherwise. At worst, i don't buy it. At medium best, i can return the preorder later and get $10. At best, there will be some other coupon for Up! later similar to this.

Prior to this, I went to Best Buy and returned my two pre-orders for snow White i made there.

I had no problem today. The lady knew automatically about the $5 GC, so I basically paid $5.90 for a brand new Disney Blu-Ray. I'm happy.

I thought about pre-ordering UP, but maybe somebody will do a really good deal with Monsters, Inc. coming out the same day. (I'd rather buy Monsters than UP anyway.)

Smooth today...
Had two preordered on separate receipts.

In this order -
Handed/scanned blu-ray case version of movie.
Handed/scanned $5 Up! preorder.
Handed/scanned $10 coupon
Handed/scanned preorder receipt from yesterday.
Paid $5.xx (traded in a couple games for this, smooth trade in transaction and my first) and received $5 GCard

2nd order -
Same order as above but used the First order $5 gift card!
It was activated immediately!

walked out with 2 movies, 2 $5 preorders (nothing to loose on this if I buy them somewhere else) and one $5 giftcard after using about $6.xx in game trade in credit... now if
had only traded in a couple games yesterday to cover the $10 preorders...

Later today - off to BBuy to return my preorder.

take a screen shot of what webpage? there is nothing to screenshot, unless i'm missing something.

Can someone just post a screenshot of the coupon?

the coupons are individually numbered. we have gone over this numerous times in this thread alone. try google.

Actually if you go in and purchase the movie today without having a pre-order the computer is automatically promoting to add the gift card to the total purchase. I did it this morning with the coupon and no pre-order and received the $5 gift card.

muskies35 also got the gift card with no preorder. It seems as if the system is setup to auto generate the gift cards for non-preorder purchases instead of the actual pre-ordered ones.

I went to pick mine up... managed to apply the $10 coupon and get the $5 gift card, but the cashier said the computer would not allow me to get my $5 deposit and the baking set. Actually, I didn't even know about the baking set - but I decided to take it, and I'll just donate it to some Christmas toy drive that ought to be coming up soon.

All-in-all, I paid about $16 and got a $5 gift card, a classic animated movie on Blu-ray, and some cheesy toy that might make some kid happy. Not bad at all.

I got lucky again I guess with the whole SW issue. I went to get my :br: which I had preordered for $5 and preorder UP in the hopes of getting the $5 of any :br: When I asked the lady if I could do that she said no, so I was like ok that's fine I still want to preorder UP then. Well after looking at my receipt when I got in the car.

I saw that the $5 did apply for UP along with the $10 and my initial $5 for SW. I walked out of TRU with the $5 GC (which the lady was like oh don't forget your GC hun) and preordering UP for $5.66. So I kinda got SW :br: for free if you want to count the GC.

Thanks for the info, as I went after work, and there were only 3-4 copies left of the DVD box on two display racks. Blu-ray version of bonus disk + rather have the blu-ray box combined would have made me gone back, but just the latter I can live with for using ~$6 net balance on gift card.

They didn't give me the gift card. I went to customer service and they were confused as all get out... and I just didn't feel like sweating the details for that long. If I go back in the next week, I might try to get them to correct it, but it came out to $6.08 or something like that but no card.

I went to pick up my copy today and the woman wasn't prompted about the giftcard and neither her nor the higher up she called over knew how/cared enough to try to get me a giftcard through other means.

The $5 ended up being deducted from my total; it came to $5.6X after tax.

I dunno if there was a CAG or a Slickdeals member or what at that TRU, but I saw a guy holding a couple copies of Snow White on Blu-Ray and looking at the Up preorder; he obviously knew the deal. TRU really screwed this up big time, luckly I was at work so my wife had to deal with them.

My wife got the free baking set and used the coupon to pick up our preorder BD copy for $5.40 out the door without the $5 GC. She asked them about the $5 GC and was sent to CS.

This is where is gets confusing. Apparently there are too many promos going on and the employees are not getting proper training because the lady was being rude to my wife. After about 20 minutes, the lady did a exchange and gave my wife $5.40 back on the credit card and a $4.60 GC plus $.40 in change.

My wife tried in vain to tell the woman that this was not correct but the CS was even more rude so my wife said OK and left.

Pretty sad when you try to do the right thing and the employee is rude to you.

Total out of pocket was $5 for the BD version and the baking set which will make a great B-Day present in a couple weeks for our 3 year old girl.

Went to pick up my preordered copy, had a few problems, ended up walking out after paying 6.xx. My coupon wasn't scanning correctly (I'm pretty sure they were scanning the wrong barcode on it), they didn;t know about the 19.99 price until I showed them the ad, and they forgot my gift card until I pointed it out to them, but I did get it all eventually. I had a very nice cashier, but a very rude manager helping me.

And it took me forever to find the actual, there were 3 end caps and a spot in the blu ray section with a sign that said 19.99 for snow white, but they were empty because all the movies were on a seperate display at the front of the store.

Went in and the cashier said it wouldn't give her the $5 gift card prompt, manager came and tried it on another register and no go (I had preordered it last week) Finally the manager just gave an additional $5 off to compensate for the gift card.

Employee/cashier was very nice and said they just switched over to a new system last week and that's probably the reason there was a problem (don't know the validity of that)

Yeah, I preordered on Monday. I went straight to the checkout line at Customer Service though, and the girl running the register called another woman over, who manually took off the $5.00. I then gave her the $10 coupon and she scanned it and I paid my $5.61 or whatever

ALMOST no problems picking up my preorder AND getting the UP preorder:

$19.99 BD
-$5.00 Preorder
-$10.00 Coupon
+$5.00 UP Preorder
-$5.00 UP Preorder bonus
---------
$4.99 + TAX

... The GC did not ring up, but the Cashier just processed the GC as a free $5 GC after the Blu-ray transaction was complete.

By purchasing the UP Pre-order and getting the $5 off bonus, I actually saved almost $0.30 in Tax. (They had rung it up without the preorder at first and after ringing up again with the UP preorder, it was $0.29 less). So, even if I decide not to pickup the UP preorder at TRU, just by including it in my Snow White purchase, it saved me money.
