The E.T. in your 2600 auction is worth the BIN $65 alone.

That pic of the Atari joystick kinda threw me off.
Why'd you decide to sell the 2nd controller seperately vs. throwing it in with the bundle? Just curious.
And the limit for 1st class mail is 13 ounces. That bundle won't be able to go first class (somebody correct me if I'm wrong) Since there is a bid it's too late to change the desc. I'd send it priority if I were you, as you have the potential to upset the winner if it goes parcel post. (Parcel Post is a good bit slower than 1st class.) I suppose you could always ask the winner if s/he minds that it go Parcel Post.
Either way I'd add on to the description that this will actually go parcel post or priority.

The game is said to be a major factor in the demise of Atari and the video game industry as a whole back in the early 80s. They made more copies than there were 2600 systems in homes at the time, I believe (counting on the fact that the big license would sell systems) and the game was so awful that it didn't move near the number of units they were counting on.
That said I have a copy myself and remember actually playing it a lot when I was a kid. Man was I a dumb kid or what?
Another game they mentioned as being a big dissapoint is Pac-Man. People were very upset over how craptastically different the 2600 port was from the arcade. I have that one, too :)
Update:
Here's a snopes article about the ET fiasco: http://www.snopes.com/business/market/atari.asp
And it looks like I had it backwards, Atari produced more Pac-Man carts than there were consoles in homes at the time.

I'm sure epobirs will chime in on this, but at the time I believe Atari was being run by businessmen, not games people. By the time ET was made, all the original Atari people had left. The people in charge had a serious case of hubris, thus their undoing, just like any good Greek tragedy.
I'm almost to this point in the "Ultimate History of Video Games" book.

I think Pac-Man was programmed over a weekend, according to legend.

Pac-man wasn't necessarily a poor port, but they produced something like 1.4 copies for every console.. it was a terrible move. And ET was designed, programmed, pressed and on shelves in a little less than a month (if I remember it correctly).. with that sort of time, you can't expect a great piece of work.
The Atari meltdown was based on numerous factors, ET and Pac-man weren't two of the major causes, just major fiascoes.
The number one cause, IMO, was Atari not regulating the third party developers. Third-parties were developing games at an absurdly high rate just to make a quick buck. The market became insanely flooded with craptastic software.. and due to this people lost faith and interest in the entire video gaming market.
Nintendo being smart enough to license and regulate all software that was created for the NES was probably the biggest reason they were able to rebuild the industry.
