Not really the same price... The AmEx/Best Buy deal seems like it would be $300 + $21 (tax) - $40 = $281. vs $261 from Toys R Us. It's not an earth-shaking price difference, but $20 is $20.

Additionally, while I figure there are Black Friday deals coming, my guess at this point is that they'll largely be bundles. Which is great for people in need of a second controller or who plan to buy the titles likely to be bundled, but I don't really see anybody hugely undercutting the out-the-door price we're looking at here. Plus, no Black Friday havoc to deal with.

It's not that I think this is the best thing ever and everyone should buy one RIGHT NOW, but I do think there's good odds that this is among the best (if not the best) deal we're likely to see for this hardware in the near future and is awesome for anybody who's been specifically looking to pick up a slim.

You would still be saving $20 using this offer over going to Best Buy, so I'd take this deal if you are really looking for a good deal. People keep expecting that Blalck Friday will roll all of these great deals in, but from what I've seen the last few Black Fridays, you won't get anything near a good of deal as this. You can wait until BF, but you'll probably be disappointed.

That's what I did when I first signed up for Bill Me Later. I can't remember what the deal was but it was something like this, sign up and get $10 off. I did it and then paid off the entire thing no problems. If you haven't already signed up for BML and you want this deal, you might as well.

Good old TRU strikes again. So my AMEX marked the charge and fraudulent so i called them to authroize it, and then 3 hours later i get an email from TRU stating my order has been temporarily-suspended to due to not authorizing the payment. Then i call TRU to Re-Process my TEMPORARILY-SUSPENDED order and viola they are fucking OOS, Well where the fuck is the one i ordered that is temporarily suspended so they basically sold the item (explain what temporary means). Why not just Cancel my order outright so i can save myself 30 minutes on the phone, and them telling me that that cant do a god damn thing. :bomb:

The PS3 slim I ordered was delivered today by UPS (I paid for the middle shipping option, they sent it 2nd Day, so it looks like they ship Ground, 2-Day, and Next-Day.) Glad I upgraded the shipping; I normally hate paying for shipping at all, but had a GC and noticed that TRU's site gave regular shipping a two-day processing window while upgraded types got one-day processing.

The invoice from TRU doesn't list the coupon, taxes, or shipping charges, just the PS3 Slim at $229.99. I wonder how many orders actually got shipped before they caught on--it seems like they must have e-mailed cancellation notices + $15 coupons to anyone who ordered a PS3 with the coupon. I was briefly worried they'd try to recall the system from UPS, but things ended well for me.
