Via Electronic Theatre (http://www.electronictheatre.co.uk/index.php/pc/pc-news/3220-call-of-duty-modern-warfare-2-delayed-on-pc):The PC release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, however, will now arrive a fortnight later, on November 24th 2009.
No official reason has yet been given for the delay, though Electronic Theatre would suggest that perhaps manufacturing constraints are to blame.Speculation as to whether piracy has a hand in the matter is also up in the air. I should note that this was announced in the UK and Amazon still retains their original listing, but we may see this hit the states as well. At any rate, if this comes to fruition then that's a pretty raw deal for PC gamers since they've had plenty of time to iron out issues prior to release. If anyone is killing the PC market, it's bad publishers like Activision and EA.
UPDATE: A recent tweet (http://twitter.com/fourzerotwo/status/4694670758) by Infinity Ward's fourzerotwo indicates that the delay may have come from higher up, as he's clueless to why the PC release would have been pushed.
I know our PC players are anxious for official word. I am as well. I will let you know as soon as I do. I promise. When I left, it was fine.
FINAL UPDATE: Rumor squashed. Fourzerotwo has confirmed (http://twitter.com/fourzerotwo/status/4942365785) that the PC release will suffer no delay.
No delay on PC for Modern Warfare 2. You'll also have Prestige Mode in PC as well as lots of Steam support. Hopefully min specs will be soon
This totally sucks. The COD series got its start and its fame on the PC, now we wind up getting the shaft. They want $10 more, we get the map packs months later, and now the game is delayed only for us.
I've been a loyal COD/IW fan since the start, but this really irritates me. Like you said, if anyone is killing PC gaming, its the publishers that give us half-assed ports with zero support, and that do things like this.
Let's be sure to say that the delay is confirmed for the European PC release, without yet having a confirmation that the US PC release is also delayed.

I was going to pick up MW2 on PC cause that's what I own MW on, but now with the "we're going to raise the price an extra $10 for PC cause our game is just THAT good" attitude, I'm just going to rent it on console. I'll be saving myself the money and won't be supporting the $60 for a PC game move.
Just sucks to see so many developers/publishers who got their start on PC shitting all over the platform and the people who helped them become what they are today.

Stop whining. Most people are planning to pirate the game.

Those people weren't going to buy it anyways, since they obviously don't care about multiplayer. If anything, they're justifying the piracy on Activision's shitty attitude and pricing scheme.
This move is an attempt to push sales on consoles first, but will end up backfiring in the long run since I can almost guarantee the PC cracked version will be leaked close to if not just after the 10th. Activision will learn very quickly not to bite the hand that feeds.

Not... in... title? Plus... UK... is... not... all... of... Europe? And... that... doesn't... mean... killing... all... of... the... PC... market?

Are you kidding? There are TONS of people on the PC that play this game legitimetely, so dont act like everyone will pirate it. Besides, even if that were the reason, the 360 versions of these multiplatform games generally pop up well before the PC versions, so the whole "PC gamers are pirates" crap is so played out by now.

The title is meant to imply that MW2 MIGHT be delayed worldwide. If I simply put 'delayed in the UK' people would read that and say 'who gives a shit' when it could still affect them. Learn2Journalism.

*sigh* All I hope is that some retailers have nice sale prices for the PC version at launch. I don't care if it's delayed on the PC.

A better title could have been:
"Modern Warfare 2 PC delayed in UK. No word on US, rest of world"
You both fail.
