good deal. I actually picked this up for a friend off amazon for less than 5 bucks shipped about a month ago. Has a great community on live. We NEED more windows players for the cross achievements. I strongly recommend this game to anyone, it's one of my favorite games.

It's really good? I've never heard anything good about this game before now. I may have to pick it up for 360.

Huge fan of it when it came out, but I don't think it necessarily comes with a month of live.
Still been tempted to pick it up though. I was so pissed that this game died due to a) poor reviews (since it lacked a single player campaign and reviewers are tools who think that a single player is required in a dedicated multiplayer game... the jerks), and b) requiring Vista.

Windows Live MP is free now I believe

Right, I think I recall reading that you could only play with other PC players though... I'm just curious if the PC community is big enough to reliably get one's game on.

It supports cross-platform play with the 360, which was one of the reasons microsoft originally wanted to charge for online play.
Between being Vista only (right after vista came out), and the aforementioned Live issue, and the fact that the game is multiplayer only at full retail price, it's was pretty much destined to bomb hard, unfortunately
Not that great of a game, but the 1-month Gold card it comes with makes it worth it. Gogamer.com has had it for cheaper though, even with shipping. Still, not bad for $5.

As a huge FPS online player (pc, sorry i cant take the tots in 360 land) i would have to give this game thumbs down. Overall the look is ok, it controls ok, its just not that interesting a game. The price is basicly throw away so I cant fault anybody for giving it a go (how bad is shipping? more hten a buck or two would negate the cheap price) I must admit im suprised at the love here.... Did i play a different game? I will admit i was an early adopter (as in when it came out), even upgraded (err, downgraded) to Vista. Yes the people playing seem ok compared to most other online games. But you simply cant polish a turd. This game suffers from kitchen sink syndrome. Its like they wanted you to be able to do everything, super jump, etc..
just another side of the coin, I would be very on the fence at this price, if ya got money to spend, give it a try, if you are a little more worried about how you spend your bucks, leave it be.

The one thing I can say about it, it kinda does have a steep learning curve. You can't just jump into a match, it is very much worth going through the tutorial. But after that, it takes a second to understand, but awhile to get really good.
People like to compare it to counterstrike, but i find it much more involved than that game. I personally can't stand counterstrike that much, but find a lot of interest in this game. With four different races to play as, as many weapon,magic and tech combinations you never play the same game twice.
