Probably a movie remote.

Well, if it is the remote, it works fine (I mean the first party one). Wish it was IR and not bluetooth, but the system doesn't have IR so no way around that. Slight lag first time you use it for a while as it's probably pairing itself, but I mean it's a VERY slight lag (maybe a second), and the system is responsive as a Blu Ray player (usually more responsive playing Blu Rays than my DVD player is playing DVDs).

I'm gonna guess its the first party remote. If it's a good price its well worth it, I have it and use it often since the PS3 is my primary DVD/Blu-Ray player.

If it's the media player remote, it's totally, totally worth it. I use my PS3 for everything. Bluray, DVD and AVI. (Use a media server to shove stuff from my Mac.) The remote also works great for navigating everything else on the system, including the main menus and the store.
And my kid loves chewing on it. :)

you can get the harmony adapter. I have a harmony one and use it on my ps3 and it works flawlessly, i dont even pick up the PS3 remote until the game has loaded. I didnt use the logitech adapter but used a DYi adapter that uses the internals of the official Blu ray remote.

If EyePet were out, it'd be easy....
Never felt a major urge to get the BT remote. I just bought a really cheap Nyko IR remote online and used my learning remote to swipe everything off the Nyko. Now I just use the IR receiver in the PS3 and still only have one remote. Too used to having one remote that can do (almost) everything to add yet another to my collection. I can deal with not being able to turn my PS3 on with it.

It states in the title for the deal on Amazon 'Magazines Deal'.

It does say Magazine related, so I hope it isn't just a subscription to GI or something useless like that.
edit: Maybe it'll be a Qore sub. I can finally see what Veronica Belmont's been up to.

The magazine formerly known as PSM. It's...I don't know, after reading this month's issue I like Game Informer a lot better, and OXM better too.
It was off to a bad start when they insulted Dollhouse (!) and those guys...I don't know.

Works for me. I actually just subscribed to this recently, but I have not received my first issue yet, it was $18 for the year. So I just called them up and canceled, and bought it from Amazon. Great deal!

Wasn't this thing just $12 for three years? Terrible.
dcm1602
10-06-2009, 02:57 PM
Well right now its 9 $ and you get a 5$ promotional credit...
Thats 4 $ for a year.
Aint too shabby
How did you get $5 promo credit? I didn't see this for my gold box deal. Just the full price 1 year auto renewal.

Ah if its for the auto renewal only I didnt realize that. It kinda just showed up for me.

damn, 3 years for $12? Thats paying pennies to the writers man, if you can't pay less than a dollar for a magazine every month, then you got a problem..
i think $9 for a whole year is fine (and already paying pennies to the writers, lol). i wouldn't pay $18 for a year though!
