what about eca and free shipping?
A pretty good deal on a good selection of classic games (and jeez, Starcraft came out 12 years ago and it's STILL being sold!). You'd think that everyone would own all of these by now, but apparantly they're still being sold!
Also note that you can register the CD-keys for all these games on a battle.net account and freely download and install the games wherever you want without the CDs.

Since this is Amazon's deal of the day they're fulfilled by Amazon itself so obviously both will apply.

Hmm... Dunno If I want to pick up Diablo 2 and have unopened versions. I really want starcraft again however and that's a great price.
can't figure out how to get an eca code. I am a member just can't find were they spawn.

I already have the Starcraft and Warcraft Battle Chests tied to my battle.net account but I might pick up the Diablo II chest. I seem to have misplaced my discs and keys.

I think the ECA codes are down right now.

Good pickups for those that may not have yet. Also, good to consider if you use a netbook, lower end laptop etc ... these older classics will play great on most.

question: if i have the original releases, can i still register the codes w/ battle.net for it to function like steam? (i can d/l the game anytime without using the cd). or does that apply only to the battlechests.

Hmm, I never did get around to playing Warcraft 3. Might be worth it.

I'm considering Warcraft 3 as well, I haven't played it in years.
I think it would be interesting to take some younger WoW addicts and sit them down in front of the old Warcraft games. I wonder if the reaction would be "wtf is this?"

I don't have any of these, but love Halo Wars. (360 RTS) Which one should I get? I've played Starcraft...
edit: Did some digging. Metacritic Scores, Gamerankings when unavailible:
Starcraft (http://www.metacritic.com/games/platforms/pc/starcraft) (88)
Starcraft: Brood War (http://www.gamerankings.com/pc/75249-starcraft-brood-war/index.html) (95)

Warcraft III (http://www.metacritic.com/games/platforms/pc/warcraft3reignofchaos) (92)
Warcraft III: Frozen Throne (http://www.metacritic.com/games/platforms/pc/warcraft3thefrozenthrone) (88)

Diablo II (http://www.metacritic.com/games/platforms/pc/diablo2) (88)
Diablo II: Lord of Destruction (http://www.metacritic.com/games/platforms/pc/diablo2lordofdestruction) (87)

Well Diablo II isn't a RTS, so based on that I'd go with Warcraft III

I haven't played Halo Wars but Starcraft still has a very active online community for being such an old game. WC3 has tons of custom maps and a very different feel. I'd say WC3 is probably easier to get into since it relies a little less on micromanagement than SC. If you don't have them you can't go wrong getting both.
As a previous poster said D2 is NOT a strategy game; it's an action RPG. They made some great updates to it later on that added a lot of depth to the game and it's a ton of fun playing multiplayer.
I'm tempted to pick up another copy of SC just in case a friend doesn't have it...

Yes, it works for the original releases.
Additionally, there are bonuses in some cases. I have my original cds and keys for Starcraft, Warcraft 3, Diablo 2 and its expansion. Not only did all of the cd keys register, but my Starcraft key also unlocked the Brood Wars expansion which I never owned. It is a shame that Warcraft 2 & Diablo 1 plus expansion didn't have keys/aren't supported. I always preferred warcraft 2 to 3.

I've never owned any of these games and have never registered on battle.net. Would i have to pay monthly fees to play starcraft or warcraft 3?

Battle.net is 100% free, thats the best part!
I'm tempted to re-buy WC3 since I have lost my CDs and my Keys.....stop putting out good deals amazon!
(If ECA was up I'd be all over this)

The Brood War expansion never had a cd key so that's why you get them both by registering just the original key. Pretty nice deal for those that never had it.
I agree it's a shame we can't get WC2 or Diablo on there. I'm not even sure where my original discs are at this point (although I made backup copies that I've got somewhere). Although even if they did support Diablo they wouldn't support the expansion since it wasn't even made by them (Blizzard).

Re-bought WC3 (lost CD keys) for my battle.net account. Too bad ECA coupon is down.

Quality games that are definitely worth the price. Get everyone brushed up before SC2 and D3. My brother has had the same cd and memorized the cd-key so he never has to worry about losing it :) . I might pick up a WC3 cause I think me and my brothers are an expansion short.

I went in for all three. Have played Warcraft 3 extensively, but never owned any of them. Had an ECA code and a $10 credit I didn't even know about so that was a nice surprise.

I had to bite on all three. Was a big WarCraft II fan back in the day, and rebought it a couple of years ago. Never got around to playing 3, and haven't had StarCraft in probably a decade.
Too bad ECA was down yesterday, but $50 for three kickass games plus expansions is a deal I couldn't pass up. No telling when I'll get to play any of them, though.
Thanks OP!
