Worst G4TechTV show [Mobile/Archive]

Ok I just got done watching Sweat and I gotta say its boring as hell. My biggest complaint is that it has nothing to do with video games or technology at all.

Maybe this particular episode was just an anamoly but the premise is pretty weak also... A show based on sports video games? How can that possible have enough substance to fill a show? Obviously I just spent an agonizing 30 minutes answering my own question because, THERE WAS NO MENTION OF ANY VIDEO GAMES! Oh sure I got to see Michael Vick (again) and some guy who dribbles the basketball in a really cool way but after 30 mintues do I feel screwed? YES! I just know already that when I'm on my deathbed I'm going to be laying there thinking damn I really wish that I hadn't wasted those 30 minutes on that pathetic excuse of a show.

Oh great Judgement Day is on now, suddenly that death bed can't come soon enough...

Everything excpet for The Screen Savers, Unscrewed, Pulse (thats the news show right?), and Icons. X-Play is good sometimes.

I agree all those shows bore me after awhile. The one the sucked the worst (I can't remember the name), it the one that played music and then would show random footage of videogames. A lot of them aren't even in the US so i have no idea what games they were or what I was watching.

I think it's just called CHEAT.

That would be my least favorite. It's a complete waste of air time. Give us some repeats of Unscrewed instead...

I'll second that. The only time I get stuck watching TV is when I go to visit relatives or, as in this past weekend, the in-laws. I flipped by G4-TechTV a few times hoping for something decent. What I got was footage of Anarchy Online w/ some idiots giving "funny" voices to the characters, and another "show" that was just cut-scenes & footage from games. :| So apparenlty anyone can start a network now?

I have never really sat thru an episode of portal, but it is something where the host of the shoe interacts with characters from a mmorpg ... I believe that is the basic premise of the show

the show with the music and the footage is called cinematech...it shows a list of the games every 5 or 10 min...I enjoy watching pulse, xplay, and the talk show..icons is good but they don't have enough of them

YES! That was it! Cinematech. What a crappy show!! Total Filler.

However, there was one show that I did watch occassionally. I think it was called Play. And they would have top 10 countdowns on numerous topics. (i.e. top ten videogame bad guys). It was interesting to see what they came up with. Until they played the same show over and over and over again.

Also, I didn't like Judgement Day because I never could respect their opinions of the game. One guy (I think its Tommy - who by the way is freaking rich) would give a game a bad rating solely because it wasn't a game he would normally play. Then he would give real crappy games good ratings because "things blew up".

icons is good, xplay is decent most of the time and judgement day is possibly the most uniformed, moronic centric video game show ever. that tommy guy symbolizes pretty much everything wrong with casual gamers.

plus, if you watch the credits, his "company" (read: him and a synthesizer) does the music for the show.

I saw an article on that Tommy guy in EGM. He is RICH. He got rich making music for videogames on behalf of videogame companies. So, he is apparently huge in the gaming industry since he was able to do this on his own.

"the screen savers" sucks now. well, maybe not sucks, but it isn't nearly as good as it used to be. i was ok with kevin co-hosting the show, but that new guy is a total douche bag.

"judgement day" sucks because they don't know what they are talking about half the time. i also really hate that they say "eight point five" instead of "eight and a half".

"cheat" is garbage. i don't need to watch a half hour show on tv for cheat codes, i'll just go online.

"sweat" is ridiculously bad. i've watched it a few times and it made my head hurt.

"players" is stupid. i don't care about someone who happens to be a b or c-list celebrity that plays video games.

the top ten show is stupid because too often their rankings make no sense.

"icons" can be interesting when they are actually on a topic that is worthwhile.

"x-play" is pretty ok, though i think their rating system could use a lot of work.

"unscrewed" is easily the most entertaining program on the channel. i've actually stopped watching "tough crowd" in favor of "unscrewed". for the time being, at least.

uh everything the merge between the 2 companies runied techtv. it is so boring they never update any shows. I watch screen savers and xplay. is it me or the sets they shoot these things on looks like nickolden did in the 80's. To me g4techtv is like a bad mix of them wanting to be in every audience group 1-105. everyshow has a mix of disney jokes to sex and adult humor. and the jokes are horrible. ok I am done, with my rant. flame me g4techtv fanboys

Hmmm. Let's see, most of the time I like X-Play, I've always liked Pulse, Judgement Day is okay, Players sucks, Sweat sucks, Arena is okay sometimes, Screen Savers can get boring, Filter is okay most of the time, and Icons is usually awesome.

Did Pat leave the Screen Savers forever? The first time I saw a new episode of the Screen Savers was sometime last week, and I only saw a few minutes of it, but I really hated that new guy. He is worse then the announcer on Arena.

I don't like any of the G4 shows that I have seen. The TechTV shows were okay and some were pretty good, but they have gone downhill since the two channels became one.

Now wait a second...... the worst show, a show that brought new meaning to the word worst, is clearly PORTAL. God, I hate that show with a passion. I'd rather watch From Justin to Kelly....... which, thank God, I've never had to view.

Amen brother. The programming needs improvements across the board, but I can actually *sit through* most of the shows. I can't get through 40 seconds of that POS before turning it off. Just horrible.

The only thing I can think of is that they were trying to go for a 'Red vs. Blue' type of thing, but boy did they miss.
