Maximum, you have your original e-mail from them stating your totals? You actually placed the order right, not just left it in your cart? If you had already placed the order, that seems really shady of amazon, you have your original receipt so atleast try e-mailing them if you still want the games.


I got my 3 games in from yesterday, they used overnight fedex but I only picked prime 2 day shipping, cool I guess. The box is horrendous though. It's a normal skinny/long box, but instead of taping the ends in, they're just long pieces and folded in. A baby could have opened the box without even trying, glad they got here in one piece.

It was when you placed the order, and that's the transaction you agreed to. If they had charged you $71, you would have had no problems doing a chargeback with your financial institution, which would not be good for Amazon.

I completely agree. Most likely the price was changed as the result of an automatic computer application (Skynet) and an amazon representative would change that without hesitation because they realize that it would be fraud to charge an unauthorized transaction total in lieu of the authorized transaction amount.

That wasn't a second B2G1 order was it? Not trying to accuse you of anything, just wondering, in general actually, if Amazon's enforcing the one discount per household limit after the fact (I am still able to place B2G1 orders, even having just placed one).

Amazon has historically allowed those types of glitches to be processed (not saying that's what happened here). Their other legal alternative is to cancel the order, not charge you more than what they quoted.

Man, my stuff shipped fast for having used FSSS, as I placed my order at 5 AM this morning (all-nighter for college :drool:) and got shipping notification at 3 PM. Though, then again, often at Amazon "your order has shipped" means "we printed the shipping label and maybe we'll actually ship it in a week."

The following is so long that, had I not been the one who typed it, I wouldn't read it either.

I was so mad because one time I placed an order with a P.O. Box, which Amazon accepted, and then shipped it to my home address! They did not have it on file, but got it from the credit card I used. Not only was it a problem because UPS leaves stuff outside my door without signature, but it was also supposed to be a surprise gift. I am very reluctant to order from Amazon for this very reason.

As eau said, I'm not sure how that's possible. I would have thought that if the Amazon system suddenly discovered that an item couldn't be shipped to a P.O. Box after the order was placed, it would just cancel the order and send out an automated email asking you to re-order with a different address. I'm not denying that this actually happened to you, but that's just strange. Although this is an extremely far-fetched suggestion, it almost sounds like the work of an employee trying to save you trouble, as I'm not sure the system can access that sort of data and make those sort of changes on its own.

That is *WEIRD*. I used to use a P.O. Box exclusively through 2005, and ordered thousands from Amazon to my P.O. Box with no problem at all.

Although that was my legal address, and what my credit card companies had on file-but at the same time, LOTS of other companies were completely baffled by P.O. Boxes for some unknown reason, and Amazon didn't have issues at the time.

Strange that Amazon's P.O. Box policy would differ from person to person. Maybe the policy differs from distribution center to distribution center, and you just happen to live near one that's either USPS-only or is actually willing to accomodate people who can only use one or another shipping option instead of being a nazi about only accepting addresses that can ship to USPS or UPS even when they never ship UPS.

Actually, I've had stretches of time at Amazon where they've been more P.O. Box friendly, but these are rare. This whole spring and summer every game I ordered from April to September was eligible for P.O. Box shipping, but suddenly nothing is anymore. Usually it's much more scattershot, with one item being eligible and another not eligible within the same time frame. I've used Amazon for the greater part of a decade, and in that time I've still never been able to find any sort of pattern in what can ship to a box and what can't. It really says something about them that their prices and free shipping can keep me as a customer in spite of this. [/rage]

As a last note, I should mention that, for a while, Amazon seemed to have come to a happy medium on accomodating P.O. Box owners. You could always select the box as a shipping option, but in exchange your shipping choices were limited to FSSS and Standard, which never bothered me since I don't shell out for Prime anyway. All of a sudden, this just stopped.

The B2G1 promo is still working for me, taking the discount off at checkout. I've made 3 orders despite the limit 1 per household disclaimer.

The banners on that page tend to change sometimes when you refresh/re-visit which might be why you didn't see the B2G1 banner at the time.

Well I got lucky. I had a left over eca code that I entered a while ago that still applied today. I got mortal kombat vs dc, red faction, and ghostbusters for 65.58 shipped to the door. Not a bad deal. The eca code even took the total off of the entire purchase before the free game so it gave me 11.xx off of the order and then fsss. Can't beat that deal.

I disagree to some extent simply because of the selection. In my mind, the two for one is best for new releases that you want now and are willing to pay the intro price (usually $60), so you get 3 $60 games for $120. Or, when you buy the games that stay at the $20 level and really won't fall much more. The older games will eventually hit the $20 bargain bin level, so if you don't want to play those now, may as well wait for the drop.

Even with the deal, Super Paper Mario comes out to about $33 (assuming I split the savings proportionally), which is a fair bit more than what I could find it for on eBay used ($24-30). If I bought Wolverine however, I'd save more money, considering the game still goes for about $30 or more on eBay. However, even for under $30, Wolverine might not be worth it, given many claims of its shallow experience. Any suggestions?

I don't know. The bottom section of the order page (a summary section that doesn't tie to any shipment) says "Promotion Applied: $18.49" instead of $27.99. So it's like the promotion discount has shrunk at the order level.

I've got Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box in my Gold Box. I'm trying decide whether I should get that in this sale. I haven't completed Curious Village and probably won't for a while.

Right now my other options are Rayman Raving Rabbids TV Party, House of the Dead 2 & 3 Return, and Legendary Starfy.

No matter what three of the four I get, it's looking to come out to under $17 a game after ECA.

That seems good for Starfy and Layton, I think, because those don't seem like the types of games that'll really hit a $20 price point any time soon. I know Rayman TV Party will probably drop some over the next few months, especially when the new Rabbids game comes out. House of the Dead 2 & 3 is also cheaper at Game Stop ($20 vs $25), but with this sale $17 is cheaper. I don't see it being much lower other than if I got it used during a B2G1 Used sale at Gamestop.

Ugh, I'm going to have to think about this for a while. Seems like House of the Dead will have the greatest chance of being available for sub-$17 out of the four though.

That is usually how Amazon deal works and it's one thing I don't like about it. Once it hits certain amount the deal is over for that particular item, and it doesn't matter if the deal ends at later date or not.

It could be that certain amount means they ran out of stock...but unfortunately their website doesn't reflect that. And back in stock doesn't get relist back on to the deal :( Now it shows they ran out on Disgaea but Tales of Symphonia is back in stock

I don't know their specific policy, but generally the details of the promotion are done in such a way that you won't make out with two games for $50.

If you return a game(s), that you picked and they shipped you the game you picked and you return it for an exchange (because you suddenly thought of a better game or wasn't thinking straight when you clicked place order)...they will charge you for shipping it back. fyi. So ask your inner CAG if it's worth it.

Meh the hell with this sale. I added 3 qualifying games to my cart and it took one off. I changed the standard shipping to free shipping option and it took away the free game. I have added and taken out the items from my cart again and again and can't get the free game to be taken off again. This whole thing left a sour taste in my mouth. Granted it's not the same amount that would've stacked but it is better than nothing, which I was expecting. After this refund, lightning deal for NFS: Shift, and the B2G1 deal I am definitely satisfied. Got Batman: AA, Beatles: RB, and NFS: Shift (all PS3) for roughly $25 each! :applause:

your nieces and nephew will hate you for the dragons game... i was going to buy that too thinking it would be something like battle dinos... Yes the game is alittle better but the game is alot shorter.. COusin gave it to me friday night and beat the entire story mode within 4 hours .

I doubt my nephew will care about the length of the game. He'll just be excited about picking his dragon and flying around with it. He's also getting the dinosaur one this Christmas from my sister so even if he beats it he'll have that to play too.

I tihnk they will like the dino one more.. it was a cute but werid game.. a dino fighting a fire truck LOL

some reason i just could not get into the dragon game... i was just hoping the dragon would been longer then it was... someday i want to go back and play the dino one again just for laughs : )

fossil fighters was a great dino fighting game .. about 30 hours long nice story and it did have more stuff to do once you beat the main story... you had to have good eye hand cause you had to clean off the fossials without breaking them. one bad thing is if you saved your foss. pts about 10 hours into the game you can buy a dino for 200 pts that made the game very very easy (its sp. attack knocked 90% of all attack, def off other dinos)

How does Amazon deal with returning games purchased in this promotion? I talked myself into getting RB:Beatles for Wii, Punch-Out Wii, and Metroid Collection. Punch-Out is the lowest priced (by 50 cents...go figure) and I want to return the other two. My fear is they'll take the two and charge me for Punch-Out (especially since their Beatles $10 promotion is invalidated if you return the game). And if that's the case, I'd rather keep the dang games and my buyer's remorse!
They actually sent me the wrong game for the B2G1 offer.

So I called and the CSR told me they will send a shipping label for me to return the game for a refund... and then she looked into my order and told me sorry but that I wouldn't get a refund since a B2G1 promotion was used, and if I returned the game, the system would credit me nothing so I can only return it for a replacement, and I was alright with that.

The CSR I talked to was a PAIN in the ass, he also sounded like Cleveland from the Family Guy.

But wouldn't give me my ECA discount since I already got the B2G1 discount and he said codes do not stack together. Sorry.

I picked up... nothing. ECA codes were not working. I paid for that ECA membership, so buying from Amazon when it could be stacking feels like a loss.

thats odd amazon is shipping via ontrac, never even heard of them. i got mario and luigi ds, kindgom hearts ds, and disgaea 2 psp with ECA (email CS) and uncharted $5 for roughly 50.

My order has shipped.

They gave me a 22$ refund consisting of a (requested thru CS) 10% ECA discount and strangely a direct 10$ refund for the supposed video game credit for Beatles:RB. (I got 2 NBAs and 1 beatles).

It just said "account adjustment" rather than breaking it down to ECA or Videogame credit. Not that I'm complaining, i'm getting the 10$ credit straight up. Would have loved to use it to the GOW:Collection though.
