Not sure if this has been posted (it probably has knowing you guys) but I came across THIS SITE (http://www.filleritem.com/) which will find the cheapest item on Amazon to qualify your order for free shipping. It works pretty good!
It pops up every now and then *within* Amazon threads, but I don't know if a specific thread has been made about it.
Before I had Prime, I used it pretty regularly.

I've been pimping them out for at least a couple of years on here, and it's usually me who's been peppering the Amazon threads about it. There's other CAGs doing it as well.
For the most part, it's pretty accurate, though sometimes their prices are lagging behind what Amazon has them for. It has gotten better in the last few months.
Though, as I think about it, you spend enough "extra" money on items to get you to FSSS, you might spend as much money as it would be for Prime. ;)
