Dragon Age: Origins finally just went up for pre-purchase on Steam and the deluxe edition is surprisingly $10 less than everywhere else (Impulse, D2D, in store, etc.)
http://store.steampowered.com/app/901037/
highly recommend anyone interested in getting it order now before they likely fix the price

Thanks for the heads up OP. I've been looking for a deal on a digital copy of the spec. ed. version of this game for a few weeks. Rang it up. ;-)

yes but personally I prefer to get games on Steam and also Steam gets an exclusive item while Impulse doesn't
Steam:
The Wicked Oath Countess Luciana of Antiva lived as a virtual prisoner in her husband’s castle until an elven slave offered her a way out. The slave magically bound a small amount of the countess’s blood into a ring in return for a promise of freedom. The countess agreed, and the count was found stabbed soon afterwards, this ring lying beside him. Neither Luciana nor the slave were seen again.
Adds +10% to critical strike damage
Improves armor penetration by 2
Adds +1 to combat stamina regeneration

Impulse pre-orders do get an exclusive item:
Pre-Order Bonus: Formari Memory Band
Made by the Formari, these lyrium-infused rings are supposed to help apprentices retain their lessons. They work rather well -- too well, perhaps, as less capable students sometimes wear three or four per finger.
Stats:
* Adds +1% to XP
* Adds one skill point

What the hell does digital deluxe edition mean? Do they send you screen shots of the cloth map and collector's tin?

That's probably why it's cheaper since one of the selling points in the retail collector's edition (limited editon?) was the cloth map and steelbook/tin. Can't really sell that digitally.
I was originally going to get this on Amazon cause of ECA and 10% off, but having it on Steam would be really nice...hmmm....

Glad it made its way to Steam! I may just sell the collector's edition I preordered at Amazon. Maybe.

The really tempting thing is the Steam special edition comes with Warden's Keep, which is the $7 DLC that is coming out on the day's launch. Having that included for a discount and getting the Steam special item is quite a deal.

THANK YOU. Was really upset when I missed the Steam window to get this cheap, but alas, I made out even better. I don't care as much about the exclusive items as I do about the Wardens Keep DLC, which Impulse also comes with.
Gotta love getting Special Edition + DLC for less than the cost of the console version.

If the game is really as long as they say (2x Mass effect) it's going to take me 6 months to a year to play through it anyway, I think I'll wait to finish the game before I buy the DLC.
Just preordered the normal version on impulse, came to 39.xx with the code. I prefer steam but they charge tax to washington residents so this deal was way too good to pass up.

this should probably be moved to the deal graveyard since the pricing error has been fixed

what is there to not understand? :???:
the game went up for pre-purchase on Steam yesterday and was initially listed as $54.99 which was $10 less than everywhere else
today Steam fixed the pricing mistake and now the game is $64.99 thus no longer a deal
