Now I need to know what if there is a better deal than buying it off amazon for $46 and using my $10 off discount.

BB (YMMV) has the Tom Clancy EndWar bundle packed with the :360: wireless headset for $34.99.
the wireless headset I got was DOA, and MS's customer support wasn't much help. So an exchange is in order.

What is BB (YMMV) cause searches came up with nothing.

Same, which is probably why Radio Shack was selling the headsets for $19.99 on clearance. I was able to get a working replacement, works fine but the wired headset is more reliable and a much cheaper replacement.

I have one that's always worked 100%, and I love it. It's a little too light (feels like you've got nothing on your ear), but other than that "complaint" I've had nothing but positive experiences with it.

I did more :360: wireless headset reading online, and also spoke with a retailer. This product [wireless headset] is worse than the RRoD; if that's even possible. Just not designed or built well.
Better option is using a wired headset connected to your wireless controller. This setup seems to work the best. I believe some [perhaps all?] of the headsets from the original :xbox: are compatible with the :360: wireless controllers, so that's a very cheap and effective method.

the wireless ones are hit or miss, Microsoft is aware that there is a problem with alot of them. Even though my warrenty expired xbox customer service said if I mail mine to them with proof of purchase they would send me a working refurbished one.
the new one I have works fine, but knowing the one I originally bought was DOA makes me experience w/them 50/50. the wired one that comes with the console I use for ODST more often because FF's last a long time and when you're playing that long you tend to forget you're wearing a wire.

I have he wireless headset, and I couldn't imagine not owning it. When the battery eventually dies on me I do have to switch back to wired, and it sucks, for several reasons; my friends and I all agree, people sound wierd on the wired mics compared to the wireless. I assume the wireless mic is higher quality (anything's better than the $10 crap headset). Also, sometimes we stop playing and just chat while we cruise the interwebs, and it really sucks when your controller goes into power save mode and kills your communication.
I've had the wireless for about a year and a half, and it's still going strong, still sounds great. I definitely recommend it; total freedom!
