This happened to me when I bought Army Of Two from them, the center plastic in the disc had cracks so they had me stick it back in the mailer and write "Return to Sender" on it. They give you a credit for the game, so basically you have to buy another game, they won't refund you.

I grabbed Tomb Raider Underworld for $13+ after tax and KOF XII for $26+ after tax & shipping. :)

Rentals are sent in sleeves. If you purchase or keep the game, they then send out the case and manual, which are kept in a warehouse after the disc is removed. The case and manual should be in perfect condition, or close to it, when you buy the game.

Fedex is probably the best mail service out there in my opinion. I know my games were shipped Fedex on the 22d and arrived the 23rd, but in all fairness they were shipped from a facility 4 hours away. Government uses Fedex over their own postal system to send secure documents. Fedex tends to cost more than UPS and USPS, but gets there a bit faster most of the time. I suppose it makes sense for a game rental company to use that service since they want to cycle the games as fast as possible.

Yeah, you should be able to just purchase the game you want by pressing the red Buy button for that game (if it isn't there, you can't buy it), creating an account with your credit card info, and then confirming the order.

If they buff the PS3 games, then expect them to scratch even easier than a standard DVD. I've seen a resurfaced Blu-Ray before and even the lightest touch with a cleaning cloth is enough to put more scratches on it after it's been resurfaced.

As for me, if I ordered from them, I'd probably just keep telling them the game won't work until I got a copy that met my standards(scratch free).

That's the only problem with buying ex rental games, is that people treat those games like shit many times, so you're lucky if they even work.

L4D community still exists.. for now. I'm not sure if it will survive once L4D2 comes out. You're better off on PC for longer legs for L4D 1 i think. However, if you have a 3 friends that own it on 360 it couldn't hurt to get it.

I got my RE5 for 360 today (USPS From Tampa). The disk is scratched up but the case and booklet are in excellent condition. It installed fine on my HD - so looks like its ok. Decided to get that VS. mode as well since its on sale this week as well.

I went ahead and ordered Halo Wars as well this weekend. Hope its as good or better condition as my RE5.

unless something has change..... YOU wil not get a replacement.. if you have a gamefly account they will credit your account the cost of the game and you will have to reorder it.. If they no longer sell it then you will just have the credit (at least that is what they used to do in the past)

I don't understand it, every game I buy from Gamefly looks like shit. :( I hadn't ordered from them in several months until they had Dead Rising: Chop Till You Drop for $9.99 the first time. When I received it there was a huge crack in the disc. >_< I sent it back. But I thought, since so many people were saying they were getting nice copies I'd give them another shot, this time Dead Rising: Chop Till You Drop again (since they refused to send me a replacement, only to send the cracked game back for credit) and Sonic Unleashed. I received both orders today, this time Dead Rising disc isn't cracked, lots of scratches though but I think it will play. As for Sonic Unleashed, I received Prince of Persia for Xbox 360 in its place.

But honestly, even when they were consistently shipping me the right games in the past I've never once got a game disc I would consider "mint" from them. But I thought, since so many people were saying they were getting nice copies I'd give them another shot, this time Dead Rising: Chop Till You Drop again (since they refused to send me a replacement, only to send the cracked game back for credit) and Sonic Unleashed. I received both orders today, this time Dead Rising disc isn't cracked, lots of scratches though but I think it will play. As for Sonic Unleashed, I received Prince of Persia for Xbox 360 in its place.

But honestly, even when they were consistently shipping me the right games in the past I've never once got a game disc I would consider "mint" from them. I had bite on Halo wars. Ordered it wed said it was shipped friday and i got it on saterday. The case still had the dont sell before sticker on it. Manual was new, even had the "hey buy this too card" for a wireless headset. The disk had no noticeable scratches, it did have a chip on the edge. The chip is real small and is on the edge, not located near any data. I have gotten disks in far worse condition from GameSpot, in fact every disk from gamestop been worse.

Just got my copy of Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts last night and it is in pretty decent condition. No scratches on the underside of the disc, but there are noticeable ones on the top label along with some weird ring that looks like splotched ink. Also, the 'Secret Blueprint' booklet that came in with the manual is pretty beat up. Overall, though, I'm happy with my purchase.

I assume these chips on the disc edges come from GF's storage method. Maybe it's some kind of disc-loader system that uses clips to grip the edges of the disc? Just a hypothesis. :roll:

Case and manual are mint, disc itself is in fairly good condition, a few very minor blemishes and a couple of the aforementioned chips on the edge, but definitely playable, no worse than your typical used game from, say, Blockbuster. It did take them a full 7 days from the time I placed my order until the time I received my package, but overall, I can't complain, and I would order from them again.

I too got discs with chips out of them. I got 4 titles and 3 of them (all Wii games Deadrising, Iron Chef, Tenchu) had only one chip out of the side. Resistance 2 had a lot of little chips out of the side of the disc, though still playable. All and all I am happy, but those looking for nice looking discs might want to stay away.

GF must use some kind of "disc-loading" system to store discs and auto-stuff envelopes with discs. I assume the disc loader holds the discs by the edges, which causes these chips that almost everyone seems to have on their discs.

I really think you need to calm down. GameFly has free shipping on a lot of random games. I have a free account that I made less than 2 weeks ago and am about to order Warhawk for $19.99 (which was never in this Blowout Sale) with free shipping. I also ordered Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts last week with free shipping, but that was because it was included in the sale. Now that it's over, their first priority is most likely adding back on the shipping charges to the games- the actual prices will be updated sometime in the future.

Gamefly is odd about shipping. I've yet to pay shipping from them, but there are definitely games that have shipping charges, for some unknown reason. For example, try to get Deadly Creatures for $10 and shipping is free, but try to get Fight NIght Round 4 for $40, and there's $2.95 shipping. The there's $2.95 shipping for for College Hoops 2.8 at $10, but not for RE4 for $20.

Just supply/demand, I guess. That said, it still seems like a large number of their games for sale have free shipping.

That's how Gamestop ended up with shit condition inventory, is that they saw that the shleps buying their stuff would accept less than pristine stuff and over time the people have allowed the scratches to get more and more prevalent and just put up with it.

Then again, the chips could be from klutzes dropping the discs on their edges, like my one buddy did to my already-once-resurfaced San Andreas for PS2.:roll: F'n thing looked worse than before I had it buffed.

If I ordered anything from this sale and it wasn't up to my usual specifications for used games, I'd be returning them in a heartbeat and saying every one of them didn't work one bit.:D

I would've done this deal too, but I know I'll probably find some of these games in an upcoming clearance from Sears or Kmart, so why bother with some sale for $10-20 when I can get them for $4-5.

so i ordered resistance 2 and gamefly sent me an email last wednesday saying it shipped and should be here in 3 to 5 days. Here i am a week later and still no game. This happen to anybody else?

A recent purchase from them took over a week to arrive. I've bought about 25 games from them in 4 years and only never received one of them. Silly thing is the game shipped as a rental and as soon as it did I clicked the keep it button. I knew the game wasn't coming when I received the case/manual.

Damn, I've bought like 5 games from Gamefly, all of them were in pristine shape. Shipping time sucks, but there isn't a close shipping center to Montana so I don't blame Gamefly for that (though a distribution center in Idaho would be a good idea for us Northwesterners).

Of course, PS3 discs, being Blu Ray, are more durable and that may have something to do with why my games have had zero problems.

I have never clicked the "keep" buttong so I can't comment on this, I've just bought games when they have had their big $20 and under sales.

I had a problem with resistance 2 as well. Others games come in a few days and resistance 2 took over a week and a half but it did finally came. All the games I got came from CA. Maybe the postal service dislikes PS3 games like everyone else does.

I have rented close to 100 games and never had any disc issues. Only dust and fingerprints that wipe off. I bought several games and all case and manuals were pristine condition. This is in Tampa btw, it may matter depending on where your distrubtions center is. We have one in Tampa, maybe it is better than some of the others.

Got my Halo Wars today. Case is perfect with "Do not Sell" stickers on them.

The Disc could be alot better. The surface has some wear, but I'd say typical used condition. My concern is the edges. There are bubbles/chips,dents that worry me.

As long as I can install and run it, who cares?

I just got my 007 Quantum of Solace today and it's pretty scratched up, so scratched up that I have been sitting here for about 10 minutes installing it and it's only at 4%, nah, Gamefly has to take this back, if it takes this long to install then it's probably practically unplayable playing from disc.

Resistance 2, Resident Evil 5, Animal Crossing and Wii Music were all in pristine condition. Only the grooves from the holding bay. Unlike IATCG, I am not blessed with amazing clearance. The Sears around me never has their clearance games as far as $5.

Got Mirror's Edge and FEAR 2 in the mail yesterday. Shipped the 28th. Light scratches on the disks but they should play fine. Only problem is the Mirror's Edge case is broken and won't close, but that's not a huge problem and won't deter me from ordering from them again if the right deal comes along.

received both of my RE5's for the 360...wow....not used to this.

First copy has a nice little GoUGE in it. The 2nd is scrached to hell with a nice little gouge in it as well. I've contacted support@gamefly.com to see about getting replacements. I can't send anything through the main page about it, because it won't let me. It sends me to a faq file and all. I've never gotten any game from the 4 other times I've ordered from Gamefly that looked this bad.

edited due to misspelling gouge (thanks for that, btw), but these are freaking GOUGES in the discs. Like someone took a knife and decided to carve into them like they were a pumpkin.

yea gamefly does not do a return.. they issue you a refund (if your a member you just get game credit and not a REAL REFUND) and then you got to hope they are still selling the game at the price you paid)

Ask to get the shipping fees refunded as well (cause you have to send the items back)

They simply emailed me saying to reseal the packaging and just write "Return to Sender" to them.

The "No Returns" thing is crap, I think. It's not like it's a pawnshop or something. Just irks me that they send me discs that look like a 3 year old thought were pumpkins to carve, and they won't just give me better copies of the games that they took forever to ship out anyways (because they saw i ordered 2 copies, they held back my order until the 28th).

I'm in Michigan and it took them about a week from my order date to actually ship my game. After that, it took 3 days to get to me. So I didn't have the trouble you're having, but they took forever and a day to actually start the shipping process for me. Kinda sucks, but not too bad for the prices that they had.
