I guess this hasn't been posted yet, presumably since it posted so late.
I played the PS3 version, and gave up. I loved Legend, but Underworld for me was too frustrating, like all the other Tomb Raider games sans Legend (which I loved).
Crystal Dynamics seems to have a really good grasp on the PS2 hardware though, so if for some reason you don't have a current gen system, but are a fan of the Tomb Raider games, probably a good deal!

I'd check the user reviews before buying though. Glancing over them, some are very positive, while others suggest it isn't well ported. I'd mentioned Crystal Dynamics seems to have a good grasp on the PS2 hardware-which is true based on their older games, but doesn't mean this one runs well.
Anyway...let's hope Amazon brings back those awesome lighting deals! :)
EDIT: After researching it, I found:
1) IGN only gave it a 4.0
2) This ISN'T developed by Crystal Dynamics. It was ported by another company that apparently doesn't know what they're doing (or wasn't given time). That explains why Legend and Anniversary could look about as good as a PS2 game could look and this doesn't.
Okay, well knowing all that...I guess avoid.

My heart sank for a second because I picked it for the buy 2 get 1 free deal. I picked the 360 version though. Close call..! lol

$9.98 for an apparently terrible port to a last gen system, or $3 more for the current gen version :lol:
Oh well. I'd just assumed it was handled by Crystal Dynamics and was competent when I first saw it up there.
Now where's my lighting deal for $20 Uncharted 2, or whatever? Get on it Amazon :lol:

Hmmm... no video games lightning deals this week so far, and a late DotD (I thought I missed out when I checked this morning and there was none)... hopefully, Amazon isn't thinking of doing away with these awesome deals... I know I check religiously every morning (yes, even on weekends).
Not worth it. I had a copy for the PS3 for a while and it was pretty brutal in my opinion. Wasn't worth the $7.48 price tag I picked up from Target so I traded it away.

Sometimes you don't know what game is mediocre until you've played it. It does frequently happen that I like games critics hate and vice versa.
I'm not sure about the PS2 port, but the Wii version royally sucked... Didn't the same company do the Wii/PS2 ports? I liked the TR:Anniversary Wii controls, but that same care wasn't replicated on Underworld. I was reasonably pleased with TR:Underworld on the PS3; my only complaint was it was too short and easy.

Yeah, the last gen versions would be the same. Just threw me off because with the last two Tomb Raider games Crystal Dynamics actually developed both versions. (And frankly the current gen version isn't THAT astounding looking. I figured it was basically their last gen version with a higher resolution and some effects thrown on...but apparently not.)
And yikes, I had the exact opposite problem with Underworld-I found it way too HARD. I barely got anywhere in it, and had no fun doing it. Too bad because I loved Legend :(
I know what you mean about critics! I never know for sure.
