Dumb question, how can you tell how many are left? I don't see any live inventory count.

If the seller is Amazon, you can put in a qty of say, 999 ...
If they have fewer than the number you type in, it will say ..

We're sorry. You've requested more of PlayStation 3 160 GB Uncharted: Drake's Fortune Pack, than the 378 available from the seller you've selected. Click here to return to the product detail page and see if additional quantities are available from another seller.

An extra game and 40GB of hard drive space or a smaller console? Seems like a no brainer.

Indeed. You gotta take the smaller console. Who likes Uncharted 2 and 40GB of extra space anyway?:bouncy:
Great deal. I personally think the Phat is better than the Slim.

With you on that one. I think the Slim looks kinda weird.

That's okay, I've already got a plain slim PS3 (last month from CircuitCity.com with the 15% Bing cashback, $20 Paypal cashback, free shipping, and no tax -- $235 out the door). The inventory info in the subject line was what caught my eye.

this is the first uncharted game right? Is the price still worth it? I've skipped consoles since my ps2 broke so I'm out of the loop.

Yes, it is the first uncharted, which is now a $30 greatest hits title, although it wasn't when this bundle came out last year.
While I jumped on this myself, it is an OK deal....Fat PS3s, which some people like the looks better than the slims, are getting real hard to find new and it does come with a game packed in. While the extra hard drive space is nice, after 60 or 80 GB, it just becomes overkill in my opinion. So if you wanted a new PS3 fat, this is a great price...if you don't care about a slim vs a fat, then it just comes with a game that you can get cheap anyway plus some extra hard drive space. The game itself is pretty good, although its fairly short...its a good rental since you can complete the game in about 8-10 hours.
Also since you say you are out the loop, this model of the PS3, like most models of the PS3 over the last year including the slim, only play PS3 and PS1 games....it doesn't play PS2 games

Isn't the Slim currently the only PS3 that does Dolby MT-HD audio or whatever. Might be something for the people to look into who will use as a bluray player hooked up to a theater system.

it's going back in stock on the 25th according to Amazon.
I noticed that too. Glad to hear it, since I can't drop 300 down today, but can in a few days.

I'd be surprised if these come back in stock. Perhaps just a small quantity if anything.

Yup. They like playing with inventory numbers and availability, but with SonyStyle and Walmart also OOS, I don't think Amazon's getting more than what they've set aside to fulfill.
What might show again are the customer canceled orders and declined payment stock going back up for final extinction. Then again, they managed to dig up a whole bunch of MGS b/c bundles last time when they were long gone elsewhere.
eta: O.o @ shipping soon status so peeps can't cancel despite the long off ship est. for FSSS. Damn. Guess the ones to show will more likely be payment rejects.

For you dudes comparing the fat and the slim models (and have an electric bill every month): the slim PS3 consumes almost 50% less electricity than the older models.
Honestly, that's what made me hold out on this deal. I'll wait for a deal on the slim.
Being an adult sucks. :(

The comparison of it using 50% less electricity is compared to a lunch model 60GB with full PS2 backwards compatibility and the 90nm process CELL chips. When compared to the 65nm version, which this 160GB most likely is, it's most likely closer to the 30% that Sony states.
Unless you're playing a lot of video games, the difference isn't that much. If you generally play for about 20 hours a week, you'll save $13.74 per year compared to the first gen 60GB.
