The way Best Buy preorders work is they return the preorder SKU and then ring up the actual game on the same transaction. If you bring up the other two games you want to customer service to pick up the preordered game you should have no problem getting all three on the same transaction and hence B2G1.

With Best Buy they do a "package discount" meaning that if you return 1 you generally have to return all of the items or they will adjust the price accordingly. Thus, if you return 1 game they would credit you $39.99+tax instead of the full $59.99. The system is not dumb and will realize this when you attempt to return.

(BTW I just quit Best Buy in April and dealt with the package stuff.)

EDIT: Gift receipts will not work as place holders because when they are scanned for return it brings up the whole order (i.e. the package discount) and will reflect the price as $39.99 not $59.99 for each game.

I dont know about this.THe last B1G1 50% off was $60 and $30.I easily exchanged the $60 game with another game just so it can be on a different receipt.2 Weeks later I came in to exchange the game with a new release game.Maybe YMMV but it looks legit.I don't think it can be considered as fraud or stealing.

During these deals I am really careful not to overstep any boundaries especially since for $60 its not worth getting a criminal record for.It will be interesting if they will really do $40/$40/$40 this time around.

The last people best buy tells anything is the sales people. outside of major sales (the spring $10 sale for example) the people on the floor find out sales on sunday morning when they come in. The store I worked at kept the Black Friday ads under lock and key and wouldn't even show the employees. it took myself ten minutes of convincing people last year that special laptop sku that came in was in the black friday ad (which I knew because i looked up the ad on SD)

That should be a pretty straight-forward exchange, so unless you were trying something shady, everything should have gone ok. I can see if I was trying to get a refund or credit for regular price that they'd give me trouble, but exchanging the seasons should've been simple like you said, but it wasn't, so I don't go there anymore.

Anyways, hopefully Amazon matches & this works on Wii Sports Resort(limited edition), so I can get 2 of those for Christmas gifts & get Ratchet for myself.

They were all on sale for the same price a couple weeks before & they sat on the shelf right next to eachother for the same price, how would exchanging one for the other have cost or cheated them out of anything? If this was Wal-Mart or Target or just about anywhere else I can think of, they would've done the swap without batting an eye. Remember, this wasn't an opened item, it was still wrapped with a BB tag on it.

I just noticed I can't do a in-store pickup of UC2 and Borderlands. It's not available for in-store pickup and I can't check inventory either.

I actually had the same issue with TRU yesterday with some toys. Bought a couple I didnt really want as placeholders, but they never got the ones I wanted during the sale. So went back yesterday & they said I had to pay the difference. Made me mad, but I didn't press it as it's only $3 and I'm trying to get hired there, lol.

Crap. I was supposed to buy an Xbox 360 as my one last final purchase between now and Christmas if I have any hope of not wearing summer shorts to school in the winter. I don't even want the Xbox but find myself having to just to get myself out of a bad situation with a friend. So... do I put up with the bad friend situation and buy three games... or pass on the games because I have enough of a backlog... or literally blow all my money save the bare minimum needed for gas and ramen noodles and go to school in shorts all winter. Somehow the last option seems best.

So... I'm debating amongst all of these (all for PS3):

Ratchet and Clank Future: A Crack in Time
Borderlands
Demon's Souls
Brutal Legend
Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2

Or I could save a little bit and just go for some cheap stuff:

Suggestions? I think either Borderland or Fallout 3 GOTY are locks if I do this, and if I do Fallout 3, I might as well try one more time to get BB to PM Target this week and then return/rebuy next week as part of the sale. But I'm still not sure of F3 is worth putting up with the glitches people have. Crap, I hate decision making.
