The reason I think WWE is the best place to start is it lets us get up and moving without worrying about creating wrestlers and should be a little easier for dealing with storylines. I have some storyline ideas about how we'll initially bring in created characters.

You guys tell me, what would you like to see updated on here? I want to keep this league active, but also I'd like to see it be more community driven as we're all wrestling fans and that takes precedent over some of the more competitive leagues. I don't mean that we have to throw matches or anything, but I want the whole experience to be fun and fairly casual.

Just to clarify a bit, I'll be around sporadically until December, it's just going to be real hit or miss during the week. The only thing I'm worried about is just not being around during scheduled events... I don't want to be 'that guy', you know? If you guys get something set up and I'll be around, I'll post and let you know. If this'll mainly be a weekend kind of thing, I shouldn't really have any scheduling conflicts at all.

Normally Wednesday is good and we can aim for that next week. I have a huge homework assignment this week though. Also, not everyone has to be at every card. So we could have a night that works good for NHL guys and maybe another night for others. Orton over HBK after a rather laggy matchup.. things went my way, things went his way.. but then Orton, being the sneaky guy he is, hit the backbreaker and followed it up right away with the kick to the head.. Michaels was out.

Yeah, despite the lag, it was actually a pretty good match. Nice job, Scorch. I admit, playing against an actual person totally threw me off. I'm so used to the stupid AI that around half of my usual arsenal involves running moves and top rope stuff, which really doesn't translate well to PvP. Ha.

(Quick sidenote: this is my last week of traveling, so I should be around for next Wednesday if that's still the day. Any idea what's up after the KOTR tourney?)

It's a shame about the lag, though... I only played online when it first came out, so I assumed it was just new game lag, but apparently it hasn't been fixed yet. One of the more amusing results of said lag is that both people usually end up beating the shit out of the ref unintentionally. Worst part is that it makes kicking out of pins a total crapshoot. Seriously... anyone in this who hasn't really tried the online yet, I'd recommend just doing the button press kickout, as the 'stop the bar' one is almost impossible because of lag.

Anyone that played it more recently... is this just the way it is, or was it just because it's COD day?

I think the Smackdown games have always been a bit laggy, I was worried about that for a league. Hopefully though it is something we can work around. Also, I'm not sure what we'll get into after the tournament. It's hard to do a whole lot until we can get some more people involved. Are edited movesets cool for this? The defaults are terrible so I always tweak a guy to get more appropriate moves. Undertaker doesn't even have a Last Ride unless you manually assign it to him!!

I also gave Randy the "Hunting RKO" as a signature and demoted the backbreaker thing to a strong grapple. I feel "guilty" using an RKO as a non-finisher, but a sig is only one move away from a finisher in this game so it's not that cheap. Plus it's cool to be able to follow an RKO with a Punt (the guy even stays face-down after that version of RKO, so it looks perfect!).

It's a goddamn shame that it hasn't gotten any better... I was so pumped for this league, but the lack of ability to perform to 100% has dampened a ton of enthusiasm.
