I've been trying to decide which version of the game based on sustained value over time. There are a lot of Wii ports of games on system x & I wanted to know if it is better to get the Wii version or the other (in this case, PS2) version in terms of what will sustain a future worth longer/at all?

Neither version will sustain value over time. Any games that are ported to another system will de-value rather quickly.

I went with the Wii version of Phantom Brave for bonus content + improvements, but I dont see why it would increase value in the future. However, the PS2 version still worth around 15 dollars on ebay (it didn't de-value at all). Since they are on different consoles, not all PS2 owners have a Wii and vice versa.

I am definitely picking up Sakura Wars for the Wii version though, due to the bonus content + improvents.

Long term, as in llloooooonnnngggg? PS2. It's a console on it's way out, this will be remembered as one of the late lifespan under selling (regardless of it's actual sales) perfect RPGs. The Wii version will likely sell more and bounce around on shelves for a couple months, and used for a couple of years, and be perceived as some common game.

If you're just meaning a year or 3 though, go for the Wii version. While the Wii is the dominant console on the market it'll naturally be easier to flip that version.

Personally I think I'll go for the Wii version for playing, and try to find a cheap sealed copy of the PS2 version to toss in my closet sometime down the road. And never sell either

I wasnt necessarily thinking of selling, but i do like when my game shelf "appreciates" in value.

I just wanted a tie breaker in terms of which copy to get.
