I'm predicting Spyborgs and Dead Space: Extraction. They both bombed pretty spectacularly so I'd imagine that Amazon has a lot of stock to get rid of.

Would personally love $20 Cursed Mountain or Super Paper Mario.

Mods and Wii fans are too damn sensitive. I like reading the bashings. Makes for cheap entertainment! :applause: Like the Roman Colosseum. But with less lions. Probably.

Well, the Paper Mario franchise never was quite as popular as the mainline console Mario games, and considering that it was released near the Wii's launch I suppose its time had to come sooner or later.

Still, I want it pretty badly as well. As usual, Nintendo is ultra-obstinate with their pricing and games always retail for the full $50. Used copies can be had a bit more cheaply on ebay, but everyone is too lazy to use anything other than a stock photo and stock description anymore so I'm not saving a few dollars just to receive a game that turns out to have been soaked in coffee and put through a wood chipper.

Same here. I'm assuming it will be in the gold box main page or the video game deal of the day page when they refresh in 2 minutes.

And the video games DOTD is EA SPORTS Grand Slam Tennis

None of the normal Lightening Deals are Wii related... so unless they're going to add lightening deals to the video games DOTD I think they called this off.

Curious, but dunno. My guess would be Ghost in the Shell SAC season 1, purely because I randomly googled the words they use in the hint... "smash" "acclaimed" etc in connection with anime and that popped right up. It's even in the amazon.com blurb for it.

But I dunno how these things work, so who knows?

It's hard to believe the Paper Mario series wasn't as popular considering how well the new M&L game seems to be selling at my local TRU... :roll: Nonetheless, when I see Mario Kart DS on shelves for full price (and a consistent Amazon top seller), it's hard to accept Nintendo games "getting old" or being "retired". When did Mario Kart DS come out? 2005! So... yeah...

But definite bummer on this Wii night. I guess they meant the deals start... Tuesday?? I stayed up for nothing, too... Amazon owes us an apology of some sort. And none of this "we're sorry" crap. How bout an apology with some real meaning! ;) [insert innuendo or plea for GCs here]

The image in the OP is hosted on Amazon's servers, and the last time October 25th fell on a Sunday was 1998. Now the only image up at the game deals page is for their "Holiday Toy list" thing. To make conjectures, either:
A) Amazon was planning some sort of sale, but canceled it at the last minute for some reason.
B) Amazon changed the sales plan some time ago, but an image from the old plan was accidentally placed on the page.

Either way, it would be best to mark this topic DOA and send it to the graveyard, unless something comes up.

Yea.. all signs of the gold box are gone.

I found this pic under the video games section on Saturday morning (when DotD was posted) and I posted this and the deal of the day. That's all. I posted EXACTLY what amazon had on their site. So maybe they cancelled? I don't know. Don't shoot the messenger!
