Just got this news from our friends at SouthPeak.

GameStop Link Here: http://www.gamestop.com/Catalog/ProductDetails.aspx?product_id=75951

Anyone who preorders the game before midnight on Halloween will receive a Dementium II poster (featuring the box art) personally signed by its creators Jools Watsham and Gregg Hargrove at Renegade Kid. As a mature rated DS title, Dementium II needs to have its fans come out and show support. So if anyone is interested in the game, now’s a great time to make sure you’ll get it when it ships in February, and get a bonus as well. All you’ll need to do is go to your local game store (Any store, like GameStop – this works online too) and pre-order it, and then scan, forward or take a picture of the receipt and email it to DementiumII@southpeakgames.com along with your mailing address. Then clear out a space for your soon-to-arrive poster.

If you can’t preorder it this week, you can still support Renegade Kid and original games by visiting Jools’ YouTube channel and commenting on his post from Friday - http://www.youtube.com/user/joolswatsham (The latest video posted there shows the Dementium II poster and talks about this deal).

this is cool, I like the spin on 'support a mature title' by 'supporting the developer' too. I guess the 1st one is noteworthy on some levels, mainly painful hand cramps! if the second one has a little better control and updated graphics, not too mention released at a budget price like the first, I'll get it.

I might have to get this.

I remember in the first game where you had the ability to literally sketch out clues to help solve puzzles. I was in awe on how well this idea worked, especially with a survival horror title.

Same. Just waiting back for the response email. I've been a subscriber to Jool's YouTube channel for over a year now, and it's really interesting to hear from a small developer and their progress on making games.

Cool boxart. I'd like to see the creature that's currently sticking his arm up through that person's bum...

Anyone who hasn't played the 1st one yet should spend some time with it alone in bed in the dark with good headphones on, quite a creepy experience.

Jools is an interesting guy and I visit his Youtube channel whenever I can think to do it. If he applies some of the constructive criticism that review outlets and gamers gave to Dementium and Moon, Dementium II could be one of the best games for the DS.

I am going to have to wait for reviews on this one, though. I haven't played Dementium, but I bought Moon day one and while it was a technical marvel, it was a little lifeless. (it didn't help that I ran into a game-ending bug that was far enough into the game that it was too demoralizing to start over) It had great potential, though, so I'm at least semi-hyped for Dementium II.

If you're a die-hard Renegade Kid fan, today's your lucky day, I guess.

I'll be there for them. Dementium was a lot of fun.

Amazon doesn't seem to offer the game yet... Newegg does though: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16878220027

You could always preorder, and then cancel closer to release if previews show the game isn't turning out well.

Awesome... I worked on this game, and the second I saw the box art unveiled, I said, "I NEED a poster of that." Let's bump it up so everyone sees this very cool deal. For anyone on the fence, Jools says there will still be ANOTHER preorder bonus for those ordering from gamestop... the exact nature of that bonus has not been decided yet, but it will be in addition to this very cool poster.

For anyone who played Dementium, trust me that the complaints people had about the first game have all been addressed. And I understand the comment about Moon feeling kind of lifeless, but that definitely will NOT be the case with this game. As Jools has said, it's the best game he's ever worked on--and he's worked on over thirty games.

Awesome, Marginal! You need an avatar, dude.

From a developer email:

I think you will really enjoy DII--one of the very first things we did when we sat down to make DII with Renegade Kid was work on addressing things that were frustrations from the first game. In DII there's a way (no really WAY) better save system, a bunch of different environments, the map is built into the lower screen UI so you don't have to switch screens to look at it, there's an inventory system so you can carry health with you instead of having to search, and a lot of other cool stuff.

I have to be honest, I didn't really enjoy Dementium. I think my expectations were too high .But I do enjoy the developers' passion for their games, and the boxart. I just can't preorder from Gamestop, when I can get it cheaper elsewhere, although I would love the poster.

I've never pre-ordered from Gamestop before, but I figure the price difference on new DS games is usually only a few bucks, and the poster + other pre-order bonus would be worth it.

By the way, LOTS of new previews for the game out today. Here's one at Gamespot:

http://www.gamespot.com/ds/action/dementium2/news.html?sid=6238132&om_act=convert&om_clk=previews&tag=previews;title;1&mode=previews

Here's one at Destructoid:

http://www.destructoid.com/going-to-hell-and-back-in-dementium-ii-153276.phtml&mainnav=DS&mainnav=DS

And here's a new trailer:

Hopefully they can help some folks decide whether or not they'd like it. (I'd say yes, but I'm biased...)

Definitely a cool promo, but I sadly have no real interest in the title.... wish they'd run a promo like this for a game I do care about ;)

Cheers to those who pick it up...

Renegade Kid is THE game development team I would love to work for; no other team is so focused on pushing the limits of the DS, my favorite gaming system :P

I'll definitely preorder, buy, and love this game!

How did I miss this? I had no idea there was a sequel in the works. This team is extremely talented.

New preview at videogamer.com:

http://www.videogamer.com/ds/dementium_2/preview-2079.html

Quote from the preview: "...I'd say this could easily be one of the best DS games I've played all year."

Just two days left to get in on the poster deal...

I don't care for the poster image. Looks like a bad Mars Volta album cover. But I do appreciate the sort of grass roots marketing and the developer's connection with their audience.

I read that preview over at videogamer.com and the game is sounding niiiiiice. Nothing like survival horror in bed! err wait

They don't specify in the video Jools posted... they push Gamestop as the place to buy, which is understandable since preorder numbers from there have traditionally been a highly regarded indicator of how well a title will sell. They seem like accommodating folks, though. If this weren't the last day to order, I would recommend sending an email to SouthPeak (DementiumII@SouthPeakGames.com) and asking. Personally, I'd go ahead and pre-order... if they say no, you can always cancel if it's a dealbreaker for you.

I pre-ordered the game on Halloween day, sent them an e-mail with a picture of my receipt on 11/01.
Are we supposed to get replies from them?
Or do we just assume that we'll get our posters 2 weeks after e-mailing them?

I pre-ordered mine on Halloween Day, and sent them an e-mail with a picture of my receipt the following Monday.
I haven't heard from them.
Anyone else experiencing this?

Fed Ex just dropped off my poster it's 18x24 and looks really cool. I'm happy I already had an extra poster frame that size.

Got mine today. Not sure if I got it today or yesterday as I had it sent to the office and I was off yesterday. Looks cool nonetheless :)
