View Full Version : I got Metal Gear Solid 4 and Assassin's Creed for PS3(both disc only) for $4 total

I went to a new local shop today and the guy had games advertised for $2 each. Mind you, it was a bunch that were in a specific spot in his shop, but it was funny since he had PS1/PS2/SNES/Genesis/Xbox games all mixed in on top of the counter.

So, as I'm opening the plain coverless DVD cases to check which games are in there, I came across both MGS4 and Assassin's Creed in two of the cases.

So, I asked him a couple of times which games were $2 and he pointed out the ones in those certain spots. Sweet. So I hung onto those two cases like my life depended on it and then I paid him the $4 and left.

Metal Gear Solid 4 is pretty much mint, while Assassin's Creed has some scratches on it.

Now the only decision I have to make is....trade them into GS with another game(Batman: AA) for $54 total or keep them to play for $2 a pop?

Or in the case of MGS4, watch it quickly. I had both once before and I hated how AC got spoiled within the first 20-30 minutes of gameplay and how long the movies were in MGS4.

I really liked AC but when it started glitching out on me to the point that I could no longer play it (literally it would freeze every time I reloaded), I didn't hesitate to dump it off. The second one is coming out soon and will most likely be far better. MGS4 will always be readily available for cheap so I'd say cash in and trade them off.

Keep MGS4, trade AC.

AC is worth a play through, but there's so much stuff to do in MGS4 it's hard to trade it in.

Honestly, I never liked any of the MGS games, but I kept trying to like them since people raved about them.

About the only thing that really irked the crap outta me about AC was the spoiling of the game's whole 'vibe' within 30 minutes of starting to play.

Hopefully, I can learn to look past that and play through the game before trying to dump it off on the local shop for $10 or so.

Metal Gear Solid 4 looked rather interesting from the little bit I played it when I had it the last time, but that's the only problem with getting so many games so cheap is that some better games end up on the back burner for a long time.

Yeah, the cutscenes are really long, and it helps to have played the previous MGS games to fully understand the storyline, but it's worth keeping. Download the Metal Gear database from PSN, it'll give you backstory on most every character from the whole franchise. There are some minor inaccuracies, but it still gives some solid info that may answer questions you have about the series.

Of course, if you've played the previous games, you can ignore most of that paragraph. For what it's worth, I'd play AC before trading it in.

I already did play the first hour or so of AC, up till they pulled that twist out of their ass and totally screwed up the whole immersion of the game for me.

But for $2, I'll keep it and play it whenever I get a free moment.
