So its Wed night, is there any interest in trying to get a game together?
I scheduled a set of races in GT5 for tonight. I honestly am waiting on the patch from IW before I jump back into MW2. The patch is necessary, I really really don't want to have anybody else hacked on a night that I organize. I felt bad enough getting Syn, Oscar and Electric along with myself hacked.

Edit: Apparently the patch is supposed to be submitted today to Sony for certification. I hope soon it's done.

hi guys, interesting news my pre order for the new mortal comabt was cancelled here in sydney the guy at the shop told me the game was refused classification .. so i guess that means the game got higher than a ma here.. or what they call MA+15.. they guy told me that when that happens the game gets recalled/banned and they have to remove all merchandising items and cancel all preorders.

If i can get the time zone thing straight i might hop on with you guys one night/day

i finally got into a routine here which took a little longer cause ofthe typhoon/hurricane/flooding that went on here and. i manged to take some really good pic of the damge and surroundings after some of the events. ill see if i can pm them to some of you or post them in a album if i can get ti to work.

the only i miss really is football i had a heck of a time to trying to find a sports bar type place that was showing the super bowl apparently soccer is football here weird huh

Did you have to download the patch? It just got submitted and IW posted saying it takes like a week or two. If you didn't download the patch and it's not 1.07, then no, the patch did not come out.

There's been mixed reports on the IW forums of no hacked lobbies and all lobbies are hacked. There is also a lot of people saying that they're toning down their cheating towards game saving moments, like calling in care packages or air support when their team starts losing. There is an interesting video out there that I saw of a link that was scrolling across hacked peoples screens.

Reminds me of all the hacks you could do in the original half life. I had so much fun when certain rooms where just dedicated to mods. Thats what they should do with this game. Like.....add all the goofy cheats like golden eye on N64, but just separate them from the ranked matches and such.

Sorry didnt join you guys last night, I am really trying to get the damn 1% Valor trophy for Killzone 2 this week. If anyone else wants/is able to help out, I could use a couple people willing to be canon fodder for like an hour.

RANT ON: Stupid MODs are still jumping into boosting sessions and booting/warning/banning for cheating. You want to talk about cheating, I want to talk about spawn camping, its even worse in KZ2, cant even spawn without immediately getting blown the f up by a grenade, bazooka, etc cause the other team just sit outside the spawn point. The only way to get this trophy is to spawn camp (hope you get on the team who can lock down the spawns first) or boost. I mean thats the only way this game seems to get played is both teams try to push the other team back into their spawn so that they can noob toob the initial spawn point. RANT OFF.

edit: If you help me get the 1% I will be your canon fodder for your 1% attempt. For 10 minutes games 1v1 can average out about 200-300 points, and only need about 6k-7k points for the week to get the trophy. But if I can get 3 people who want to run into my bullets, 10 minutes can average 700-1000 points.

Was fun playing Saturday night with you guys. Brought back some good memories, and new ones. Damn you mad and monkeyd for getting nukes and leaving me left out... grrr. I dont know why my connection was so crappy. Between a 1 bar and 2 bar ping, I just cant compete. Had to leave because I was only going to get more pissed at the lag.

Sony is now enforcing the 3.60 update and let spoofers log in for a week now to flag them for removal. What this means for us is MW2 hacking/cheating is coming to a close. IW will be patching MW2 again with the remaining security holes and that's scheduled to come out around the time of the XBox/PC patch.

There is still some hackery going on, it's not on the same scale though. Current MW2 cheats are constant UAV, speed hacks, radar hack, wallhack, aimbot and a few others but upranking, deranking and unlocking challenges are not doable. So they can't screw up your game but they can force themselves to be host, which should also come to an end since you need 3.55 to run at least one set of newly devloped MW2 hacks.

Maybe he was on the ground floor of A, or that red building in the back and saw me run in.PSX Scene blew up with spoofers reporting that they can't sign on with 3.55 any more and various other hackers, specifically Mathieulh reported that the authentication code changed and that Sony was theoretically allowing spoofers to sign in to flag them, shortly after his tweets, 3.60 went live fully and spoofers got fucked.

I've also ran into 2 hacked lobbies personally, the first being a harmless one where the got hacked the score to end the match in 1 kill. The second being constant UAV and increased speed on the opponents team with Combat and Ivanova, where two were running around MLC Knifing and homing in on us instantly, we ended that match losing 7500 to 3300, which I can easily score 40 kills on Favela against MLC scrubs. I've also noticed a lot more subtle hacking, in that people are killing me where they shouldn't be noticing me at all or they're leading me coming around a corner while in ADS. Mind you I run Cold Blooded and Ninja with a silenced AK, these hacks ignored those perks.

Hackers decide who receives their hacks, basically they can decide if their whole team gets it or just them or their buddy. They were up until this point, WAY WAY more subtle in their hacking.

MW 2 is so much better than Black Ops... if the hacking has died down I'm going to resume playing.

Shouldn't have to be mentioned but since I nubbed it up and did this myself, for those of you with surround sound set ups, make sure you change your audio settings manually.

Since getting my new 5.1 set up I've been playing MW2 more but something felt odd and not perfect. I was getting more kills and tracking people well but clearly not as well as a couple of clanmates did in the past. I had a hard time telling where sounds were coming from at like 75% certainty but it definitely felt improved over the simulated surround sound from my TV. Changing the receiver to Action Game settings helped it a bit more but it wasn't 100%.

Yesterday I decided to check my audio settings and found that the PS3 defaults to 2.1 audio output via HDMI. In addition to that it doesn't enable Dolby decoding by default. My receiver was upscaling the 2.1 into surround sound and it tricked me because it showed all 5.1 speakers used, which they were but they weren't getting fed their proper channels. In addition to all of that there are a ton of formats not enabled by default, so check your speaker and receiver specs/manuals and set it up properly.

Originally I was at -25db and it sounded decent with +50-70% more accuracy than simulated surround sound. As soon as I switched the audio output and enabled the proper format, I had to lower my receiver to -35ish db as the room was now shaking and it sounded like a war broke out. I was smoking people left and right, tracking their footsteps with deadly accuracy of like 85-95%. I never need to use a UAV because I can hear where the opposing team is firing from and just head in that direction.

Active listening is definitely an acquired skill but I've been doing that since my 6th Prestige or so, the only hard part is you have to actively recognize what those footsteps are on. Snow steps sound different from cement steps and metal steps, if you can figure out where those are spatially in relation to you, it's fucking beast mode. The real interesting part is when people are hunting you down because there's nothing more invigorating than taking out an entire enemy team flooding your position.

When the next MW2 patch rolls out, the only people left standing will be those with surround sound set ups, be it a headset or a 5.1/7.1 system. Aimbotters and radar hacks are going to pay dearly for their lack of skill.

Ran into a hacked lobby. I was actually fortunate enough to know of the hacker before it got started, somebody on the IW posted about julianportman doing his hacks and so I got it on camera. The video is processing right now but here's the link.

You can view the radar hack active in the radar screen and he randomized the spawns, took out the game timer and turned on respawns for Search and Destroy.

Edit: After checking my score, yeah, it screwed up my score and I've got a stupid amount of points. My kills remain the same though, thankfully they can't add or subtract. I jumped from a score of around 230k positioning I want to say to now in the top 90k. Scores can still be screwed with sadly.

I want to say I probably grinded pretty hardcore to reach 10th relatively quickly but the last two levels were quicker than the rest. I never really had an issue plowing through the Prestiges after my third Prestige though. My first two I was trying to be ultimate sniper and my last two I've been an AK whore. Once you start killing scores of people, the levels just roll on in, so I'd say just focus on getting killstreaks set up to give you tons of kills early on because that's where all your levels are going to be. An easy one to do would be 5/7/9 because all you'd have to do is purchase 7 and 9. I regularly go like 3-10 to 1 running 5/7/9. I get less kills on average going for a nuke more than anything else.

Since I doubt I will ever play COD BO again, I just locked in my COD BO tradein at amazon for 32.25, putting that towards the Socom 4 Move/SS Bundle. Anyone know of a better trade value for it? Are any of you MW2 guys interested in Crysis 2 or I'm I the only one. I'm liking what I've played so far, I'm not to anal on FPS though, I've played and enjoyed most of them like WAW, BLOPS, MW2, BF:BC2, and even stuck with the not so great MOH (nokill's most hyped game of 2010). I think I'm going to stick with Crysis 2 until BF3 depending on how SOCOM is I still need to try the beta. I would recommend crysis, but I want to you to know what I've played and enjoyed.

Don't forget that they need to patch this again to remove (hopefully) all of the hacks. I really wish I was recording last night so you could see the crazy death I suffered from the speed hack in Storm. Mind you I had cold-blooded, ninja, and silenced weapons. I was coming up the stairs to the area with the mannequins and the other person was coming in off the catwalk. Before I can raise my weapon to shoot he manages to switch weapons, cover the entire distance between us and knife me....all before I can get my weapon raised - and I saw him before he saw me because he was backing into the room.

It seems like the speed hack and the radar hack are the two prevalent ones remaining. I know Mad and I both suffered from the radar hack more than a couple of times last night, although I don't think either was present as much in S&D. I think I only witnessed one radar hack in S&D while we were playing Trailer Park Trash.

Mad - I can hear better directionally with the new headphones, but you could see how the delay was killing me - as evident in TP. It would have helped us if we had anyone else who knew the concepts of how to play last night. I have a great idea, the other team has 2 quick scopers and have called in Choppers and Harriers while none of you are cold-blooded....lets bunch up in front of the windows. My highlight of the night was the level 70, 10th prestige kids (hacks) who were still talking trash after going 0-12 in the two S&D games.

I'm probably in for Friday night....although I probably will not be around until 10ish CDT.

Yeah, it's back to pre-patch conditions. The exception is they can't derank or uprank you, other than that they have full access to the rest of their cheats. They can screw up your score but not unlock challenges, awaiting the next patch from IW. XBox 360 and PC are slated to receive the updated patch before PS3.

Ninja Pro? I'm assuming you all use it, since you guys use Headsets you know the dangers of not having Ninja Pro on, so you're probably right about that guy. Though, it's probably way more prevalent[cheating] in other modes besides SnD.

I always thought of SnD as a combination of reaction and strategy. Like knowing what the other teams play like, which can be determined by mid-second round, and being able to adapt to it, and know when to move. Only thing that takes me awhile to get used to is rushers. I have a slower-then-most reaction time on knifing[firing I don't] so I usually lose out to that since I'm a slow mover. (Riot Shield or Sniping mostly)

PSN has been down since yesterday at least. Been playing SOCOM 4 singleplayer campaign though. I'm digging it even though it's a little awkward. MW2 still does third person mo betta.

The last time I played MW2 (January?) about 50% of the players were using hacks. They were moving insanely fast and seemed invunerable to any weapon used. One guy took four shotgun blasts to the chest before he shot me once for the kill.

Is this type of stuff still going on? It's a shame because I loved playing MW2 with my co-workers and BLOPS was a disappointment.

I'll let you know how the multi is, the Socom regulars are a little too high strung and biased. Wigs are splitting in that thread but I think most of it is overreactions. It can't be that terrible from what I've played of singleplayer.

The problem with the 'SOCOM Vets' is that they expect the same exact game they played in SOCOM 2 back on the PS2 some 10 years ago. News flash, things have changed greatly since then. If you want to play a niche type of game like that, boot up your PS2's and setup a private room.

I wouldn't consider a 1.0 kd to be the worst but its my worst from anygame i have ever played by far. Its gotta be all those noob tubes, alleyways, knifings from a mile away, and aim assist that did it to me though. I refuse to play games anymore online that have a aim assist. I don't even use that garbage in 1 player cause it always messes me up. But the main reason i don't play as good as i do in other games is beacuse i don't care enough about the game to learn the maps and MW2 is the worst game i have ever played online and is in my bottom 3 out of over 30 games for sp experience on ps3. The only good thing about this piece are the guns but the reticules are jacked up enough to make them not so good.

(Evilwon) Will be able to check direct connect from my modem to my ps3 once PSN is back up. I have a sinking feeling that is my provider that is causing connection lag... (was getting lag playing borderlands with my 2 friends who only live within a 15 mile radius of me).

The latest patch from IW is only on the XBox 360 and the PC. They have the newer patch that is supposed to deal with the hacking/cheating issue. The one we've had was cracked within 3 days and since it's a saved game state, it only has to be transferred from a hacked PS3 to a regular PS3 to enable cheating online with the latest firmware.

MW2 is getting worse and worse online. Got a wall hack guy who knew where i was regardless of anything i did, then ran into a guy whos throwing knives always killed you regardless of where he threw them. Then of course the usual mw2 bs like noob tubes, quickscopers and freight train MLC runners. Had to have been the worst 3 days of playing MW2 ive ever witnessed.
It's not getting worse, it's been bad since IW has failed multiple patchings. The cheaters quieted down but they never left and that's IW's fault. They need to release the newest XBox/PC patch for the PS3.

Its gotten worse for me, because 4-5 days ago i got into great matches, no cheaters and was having a blast. Then as of 3 days ago everything went to shit again and hasnt gotten better at all. Its really pathetic honestly.

Trust me when I say that there was cheating, you just didn't notice it. Every single match I played has had people "stealth" cheating with UAV/radar hacks and wallhacks. They didn't make it obvious, but now they have yet again.

Boy did you call Metal of Honor, lol. But I just plat that fuc-er and the single player was not too bad. Multiplayer was ok, but very one sided, due to the higher ranked people just owning on noobs with basic equip. Got it cheap and will be trading it in for close to price paid, so it was basically a ~$5 rental.

Since this year my class load is seems to start to lightening up I'll be probably around more often. Will be definitely getting both games since both look really good and it seems that both games have a different look and feel. BF3 seems to be more of a simulator of an actual soldier while MW3 seems to be a recreation of a Michael Bay movie with an AC130 and multiplayer (Hopefully the hacking is non issue this time).

Can't wait to meet the rest of the CAGs in MW3 and start steam rolling publics.

I got a new ps3, so i put all my games back in one by one to do the updates for them and then ended up playing a lil mw2. First match of FFA went well, i was doing 10-4, then out of nowhere, a bunch of rainbow text popped up on the screen saying there was a lobby starting in 4 seconds. I immediately quit the match, popped out the disc and just felt like wtf is wrong with kids these days.

Whats wrong with people is right, how can a 1st person shooter with aim assist as the default setting be the most popular shooter? Quick scoping with aim assisted snipers is so cool. I hardly play this game but i got my best killstreak yesterday, 17. I think i killed the whole other team in about 3 seconds at one point but the game is still garbage. I played 2 other games where a satelite guided missle killed me 3 seconds after joining the games. Whats wrong with developers these days.

I'm not really sure if it was you, but didn't you say you were disappointed in BLOPS? I mean, MW3 isn't "really" being made by IW, so I don't see why people have such high expectations of it. It's gonna be BLOPS2, basically.

I jumped on BLOPS about 2/3 days ago(friend let me borrow it so I could get Platinum, which I didn't do) and I was #1 on TD by just run and gunning, there was no sniping at all on any of the teams or people doing anything but run and gunning. I got bored quick.

I finished this game on veteran last night and the last few levels were very bland. When i was in the raft at the very end of the game i couldn't help but think of how EA's first 007 game on the 64 had a superior on rails mission where you were on skiis. That on rails mission in 007 was better than the whole single player and multiplayer portion of MW2 combined.

I noticed that as well. It's not every game, possible 1 out of every 10 games there's som spawn hackers or speed runners. Eh.

The game is still fun when playing with friends. By yourself, it gets pretty boring.

I didn't buy BlackOps. Kinda seemed over-the-top, yet the game sold millions of copies.
I'm getting it for the hype and Battlefield 3. They're both just so different yet good in their own ways. Worth buying/trying both.

I'll let somebody else set up the MW3 thread. I really tried to hop on and move things with the Black Ops thread but it's really clear from my time management and just a general kind of feel that I'd much prefer to have somebody else organize given how quickly I just gave up on the game.

Nubbles was great up until he started up WoW again, maybe he'll take up the reigns again. Hopefully they set up the game to make tournaments easier because I know we can scrap together a solid 4 man team on pretty much any occasion.

If you need a UAV up to know where people were in MW2, it's going to help. I found that knowing how spawning works was easier than having a UAV once you get to a certain skill level that separates you from the rest of the pack. UAVs are always welcome initially, once the maps are learned and common routes are established, a good killer won't need a UAV... it just takes time and dedication to reach that level of play if you aren't there. It's kind of how everybody hates Wasteland initially, then I got really good at it and learned to love it, which in turn makes it playable for us when you have somebody leveling the field and not everybody hating that map on your team.

I will definitely be around for when MW3 drops. As to the thread; I might just end up reusing this 1, but it might be worth it to create a new 1, for the newcomers.

There are a few requirements though;

No ATV's For The Mad Bomber.
No Exploding Cars For NowLive's Flag Escorts.
Snake To Finish It Up With Locals, And Come Back.
Hito To Take A Break From School.
Kaiser To Fix His Connection / NAT.
Dykenom To Put Down The NubeTube.
iSeuss To Take Therapy For His Predator Addiction.

Naw, I wasn't talking about a multiplayer thread (I already have just about all of the people I'd want to play with on my friends list).

I just meant the basic MW3 thread. Somewhere to post the link to the trailers and watch it fill up with 5,000 messages saying, "that's dope, can't wait for it to come out."

Yep definitely going to be around when this game drops. My semester seems light (yay for one class). Can't wait to start mw3 and see the publics go RAGE QUIT!!! (And see Mad run around like well you know Mad..... lol)

P.S. There better be my heart beat sensor for S&D haha

We definitely need Borris back. I miss him. Game night was not quite the same without him.

It would have answered every question you had and probably changed your mind about visiting NYC. Hehe.

I kinda wish there was Snowmobile fights though, that would have been awesome in MW2 multiplayer.

I have been contemplating the future relationship between COD and my money. I guess I will have to wait and see how you all like it before I plunk coinage down on this one. BO was such a crappy multiplayer game: too much hype, not enough substance. I guess I was expecting MW2 with better upgrades. Boy was I disappointed. I have money on BF3 right now, and have been playing BBC2 since I sold MW2.

My main concerns with MW3:
Developer not giving two shits about support/patching the game
Obvious bugs like exploding cars when landing on them...
Local Host or dedicated servers? <-this would solve my latency issues
Pay to play, for expansions and all that other crap.
Quickscoping... nuf said.I think MW3 will better be supported because the patch system will not be necessary so much. The time it takes for games to be patched, go through certification, this that and the other ultimately delayed the patches coming out. With an update style similar to Black Ops patching won't be an issue. The fact that more and more developers are doing this is kinda cool.

My concern is largely will the game play like MW2? MW2 is still beautiful to me. BC2 had an inferior engine for more destructible environments and poor explosive splash damage. I want my C4, a similar perks lay out and no cheaters, I think my skill can carry me the rest of the way.

+1 on the no cheaters. I cant find much info on what MW3 has in store. My work network blocks anything game related, so I cant research. surprisingly CAG forums makes it through the filter, yay.

the above poster got it right i did a whole mess of contract work. for la noire and what i did get in return nothing me and bunch of people got screwed out of credits in the game. that really sucked cause without a credit line in the game i really cant use that experience to leap frog into something else.

i have stories they are funny !. DLC Cereal .. (among the funnier ones).

i am on mw3 on nov. 8 . i just got to to round up a mic and im there. ready to harass more 12 yrs .
just trying to decide if i should get the hardened edition or not

Why is it that when i run into a trash bastard in mw2 with a modded controller, 100% of the time they have a mexican flag and/or named Mexi-something. WHY. I ran into lobby after lobby of mexican people with modded controllers tonight. I dont know if they think they're badass cheating or what. Cant wait for MW3 to report them and get them banned, you rarely ran into modded controller trash in BLOPS due to the reporting the people cheating. MW3 cannot get here fast enough.
In my experience, Hispanic players are the cheapest of the bunch. If it's not a whole team with Stopping Power it'll be something stupid like that. Puerto Ricans aren't much better, in fact they're a bit more annoying because they prefer to speak/yell in Spanish over open mics.

Yah, its pretty bad. I got my new shiny headphones, turtle beach px21's, and decided to try out mw2 to see how sound whoring is (its quite fun), and again, other then 1-2 matches, nothing but modded controller lobbies. One game, literally, i was the ONLY person playing without a modded controller. It just blows my mind. How do these guys think they are good if they have to cheat to win? Its just absurd. Im ready for Mw3, sound whoring it up for the first time. Im going to report the living crap out of every single person i see cheating.
