Greetings everyone, this is the official CAG Modern Warfare 2 CAG game night thread. Please keep discussion related to the CAG game nights in this thread. Discussion about the single player, questions about various things related to the game, and so on will be kept in another (http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=219415) thread. :whee:

Gamesharing Guide


Pretty much all you do is:


Leader



The Leader (anybody) will create a brand new PSN account.
The "Leader" will then purchase the 'DLC'. (If using option #1. See later for details)
The most recent purchaser will then go to account management (XMB) & chose to remove his billing information (if a CC was used).
The "Leader" would then give out the account info to everybody in the gameshare.


Gamesharers:



Create a brand new PS3 PROFILE (the ones you log into at the start).
Go to the "Register for PSN" option. Then click the "Use an existing account".
Put in the info that the "Leader" gave you.
Download the 'DLC'
Remove billing info (if you used a CC).

That is gamesharing in a nutshell.

The payment options are either:


The "Leader" buys the 'DLC' all by himself (CC or PSN card). Then everybody else Paypals him 1/?th (? = number of members. Max of 5) of the cost.
Everybody signs in individually, and puts their CC info in & puts 1/5th of the 'DLC' in. They would obviously remove their billing info afterwards after each deposit.

My preferred option is #1, but you can do a mix if somebody is uncomfortable with Paypal (if anyone). Like if 3/4 of the other members paypal'd you their share, then the other member deposited their share through a CC.

It is also good to create a social group that is private to only the members of the group. You can create one here (http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/group.php) ("Create a group" option is in the bottom left). Here is what mine (http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/group.php?groupid=276) looks like.

Remember! Make the group a private one for only the members to see, if you plan on exchanging account info through there, not through PMs.

The Magic WOW Potion

:beer:For those of age, I figure I'd post my MW2 magic potion(aka strawberry margarita) recipe. It's really simple.

12 oz of Margaritaville/Cuervo margarita mix - preferably already cold
4-5 oz of tequila, I happen to use Cuervo gold
half a tray of ice
a third of a bag of 20 oz frozen strawberries, so about a handful and a half

I put the ice in first and use a measuring cup but if you pour the liquids first it's easier to use the markings on the blender. Either way, liquids or ice in either order then strawberries go last. Blend on the Chop setting, you should get the top half slush and the bottom end liquid.

It really makes for about 3.5 tumblers worth of drinks, between the strawberry and the margarita mix it comes out really tart and tasty. I've been craving these like crack and Kefka can testify to their effectiveness.:beer:

The Spec-Ops is fun, but I don't see myself playing it alot because the MP is just so damn good. But if some CAGs message me & wanna play it, I'll be down.

Also, HOLY SHIT! I've been playing this game too much. Since I was walking down the street and there was a plant behind a wall with 2 red leaves sticking out past the wall's edge, so that was the only thing you could see, & I honestly jumped and stopped since I thought it was a claymore.

I found that riot shield and throwing knife is infinite lulz. The last they expect is a projectile as fast as a knife coming from someone with a shield. Though this really doesn't work on laggy games, like when all the euros are on late at night.

I got 3 games in last night before I had to quit.

I literally turned it on, updated the PS3, installed MW2, updated that... went to multiplayer and that crappy orientation... after that I turned it off, thinking I had hit single player... then went to multi again and jumped in..

Well anything other than Tuesday at 10EST works. Looks like FP is done with Wednesday, RFG has Thursday and Monday. Wednesday and Saturday are completely open..Monday at 10pm looks open as well since I dont think there are *too* many RF/COD players beyond metaly and MisterB. The problem with Tuesday is that the almost the whole Socom clan wants to play MW2 as well. You could do Tuesday 8pmEST but that screws over the West Coast people

Just as a heads up, the Pavelow & Care Drops don't count towards your future killstreak rewards.

Also, the harrier can shoot other people's stuff down. I called in a harrier yesterday & then an enemy called in a pavelow & my harrier shot his down with 2 missles. Same thing happened when I called in my chopper gunner & an enemy's harrier shot it down. You also get the points & it shows your name if your harrier destroys anything.

Bluetooth, wired?

My guess is you either synched the bluetooth or plugged in the USB cable for a wired mic then went to the game.

You have to go to system and settings and find accessories, click that I believe and then you can tell the PS3 what to use that device for? Incoming and outgoing voice, just one or the other, etc.

Well I'm gonna see how tonight goes, but the clan nights will probably become private matches only. Because of how fucking ridiculous the party system is, especially with 9 people in a ground war.

It constantly drops random people, or splits the group up randomly, or the "host couldn't migrate" & it breaks the whole group up.. etc...

I swear I have to send out new rounds of invites after almost every public game we play & even if I get them in the party, we'll probably lose them when we join a game.

Another common thing is when you join a game, it'll split the party & the host up. Where the host will go to a new game separately & the rest of the group will stay together.

That's happening to me too. What sku do you guys have? I have the 60 gb unit and now that I actually thought about it, it seems as the same issue that killed my original system. I'm not going to play this anymore. I have no trust in CoD.

In CoD4, on my original system, tt would freeze randomly online, since that's all I played at first and didn't seem to affect offline. Than the last time I did it froze there too and killed my system. It seems whatever bug or error this is, is still in the game. Would've thought they would've fixed this after CoD3, then CoD4 but I guess not.

yep, it was fun tonight. i'm not too sure about that knives only mode though. i need to practice up with the throwing knife. plus that map sucks with that many people, you end up spawning on top of one another way too often.

not sure what was going on with my bluetooth headset. i took it off and set it on the couch so i could use the bathroom. my apologies if it was killing everyone with feedback for a long time. i think the battery might have been dying.

The problem with that Jax is people come in and then see the clan if you will and jump out. Last week we all had to change our tags till the last second...

Otherwise it would start to prep for the match, then people would drop out and it would search for players again...

How so? The only thing that pisses me off in this game is the same thing that pissed me off in MW1: stupid players that screw up your game. Like you're sneaking up on the enemy's team with a silenced weapon and a teammate that was following you wanted to steal some kill for him/herself so he/she decided to spray that stupid not silenced gun but did not kill anyone and also tell the enemies we're behind. Good going! I just love how often that happens in MW2. >.>
