Netflix hiccups

We get not all that infrequent hiccups where it has to re-evaluate the network connection for a second or two, and then continues, often with worse picture quality. We've got a Mac mini sitting not far from the 360 and it never has this problem. Also the 360 takes a long time to get a stream started. I'm wondering if it could be our Verizon-supplied wireless access point/DSL-modem or our DSL service, but the Mac mini isn't having any problems with it - it's showing high quality streams without any hiccups. Does anybody else see this issue with netflix on their 360? Solutions?

At first I thought maybe it was due to using one of those gaming adapters instead of the official wireless adapter, so I bought the official one. At first it seemed to be doing better, but it has since become apparent that it isn't much better, if at all.

I've seen this happening occasionally to me, but when it re-evaluates it usually takes a second and returns it to the highest/same quality of settings i had prior to the issue. By the way, I'm running off of a Linksys router with Cox internet and the official 360 wireless adapter. Pretty much don't have issues.

I have had this happen a few times. Currently taking a 3 month break from netflix due to work so haven't played in about 2 months. Mine usually went back to showing it just as good as it was before the hiccup. I am running the router straight to the xbox and my internet is through AT&T.

I've decided to give a d-link wireless-n router+bridge a shot (you get two, one that acts as the router, and the other a bridge), that was suggested in the amazon a/b/g/n adapter thread in the deals section. Maybe the hiccups are caused by interference from wireless phone and such? N is suppose to be free of that problem. For $104.xx shipped I figured it was worth a try. If it helps I'll report back here.

Note that this gizmo isn't a general use device - it is *only* wireless-N. It won't get your Wii or PS3 or other G-only devices on the network (unless you run an ethernet cable to them from the box.)
