GameRush is starting to expand, so check the store locator every once in awhile to see if one is coming to an area near you. :)

All BlockBuster's should now accept trades, so the trade in prices for BB and GR should be similar, but normal BBs will not have the deals that GameRush has.

GameRush accepts game trades without case and instructions and the games can be in poor condition depending on the employee.

Hmm. So that would explain why there was a crapload sitting in the GBA section last time I went. I bought the TMNT one and the Strawberry Shortcake one for my brother and sister-in-law (they're little kids). I also got 50% off one because they were still running the buy one used game get one 50% off deal. Two videos for $15 + tax, not bad.

EB's trade-in values are pathetic, I have never traded there and I don't plan on doing so. They could get away with offering 75c or so for games for a long time because nobody else was doing trade-ins, but now that Gamerush is getting bigger and bigger, EB are going to have to get with the program. I see they're doing a "receive an extra $25 when you trade in 5 games" deal, which sounds suspiciously like Gamerush's "receive an extra $5 per game when you trade in 3 games", only not as good.

This is a bit off topic, but hey wshakspeare, I just noticed that you're in Novi, MI. I was in the Novi CC a couple of days ago and picked up Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance II for 9.96 (drove up there from Ann Arbor for some other thing and dropped by CC and TRU there next to the highway). This probably isn't true at other CC stores because I'm guessing it's a price tag error. It rang up at 29.99 but the cashier manually changed it to 9.96 and all the DAII copies were labeled 9.96. I thought I'd mention it in case you or anyone else around Novi were interested.

By the way, are there any good GR's around Novi? There aren't any around AA and I thought about checking one out the next time I'm up there because I hear so many good things about them.

This is what I wrote on Thursday: I'm very pissed at GameRush. I tried to get Donkey Konga with a $10 off coupon with no trade in neccessary and the guy said that I couldn't get it for $10 off because it included the drums. What kind of shaq-fuin bullshit is this?

I'm going to try and go tomorrow and attempt to get the deal since my little sisters B-Day is on Saturday. What a shaq-fuin dick. The manager came over and said, "uh... yeah it includes those drum thingys so it's an accessory".

I go from loving GameRush to freaken hating them in a matter of minutes. They better be careful with me, since I will explode if they don't let me get Donkey Konga for $40 tomorrow.

I just went this afternoon to a different GameRush and the employee took awhile and ended up manually changing the price so I got the $10 off. Pissed off at the employee that wouldn't accept it, but I'm happy that I finally got the game for $40. 8)

Both of my sisters are loving this game, too. My 16 year old sister had alot of fun playing and it was fun telling her that she sucks over and over. :D

I've found there's usually oneor two Nazis working at every Gamerush. Just remember his/her face, and just deal with another employee at a different time. The best thing to do is to go early in the morning on a weekday when there aren't any 'gamer' employees working. The regular video rental clerks will do just about anything for you and not give you too much of a hassle.

In any case, I didn't know about that GameRush location in commerce twp., thanks for the heads up. And the Wixom/Pontiac trail store is great. Their are 2 middleaged ladies who work the store on weekday mornings who never give hassles, just smiles and good service.

Here are my reviews of local Texas GameRush's. I kinda want to hear what the best stores are so for those who visit Texas Gamerush post your reviews of the store.

The Denton store is OK....employees are very knowledgable but ther isn't someone there all the time and not a very big preowned selection. Store is in a bad location and not near as good as the bigger nongamerush Blockbuster. Its an OK store but they are not very well organized.

The Rowlett store always has someone at the counter, very friendly, they are just very picky. They won't bend the rules at all. I have the most preorders at this store because they are very organized, clean, and know what they are doing..most of the time. One time the employee took 15 minutes to find the game lock key.

I go to the Mckinney and two Allen Gamerushes. I've been able to combine the two deals with each one just about every time I go. With the recent coupons I got from my OXM, I've been able to combine 3 deals 2 seperate times with a coupon also. The Allen employees told me the preorder deal ends this Monday, but still no news on what replaces it.

Well it can be a little disoraginzed. i do agree to that. But you got to remeber they have the whole store wipped out on friday nights sundays they have to put it all back. Then on mondays you have new release stuff hitting the shelfs. My sister in law is the store manager at the Cumming Ga store and it allways total chaos. Then you have the gamerush stores to go with it. Now double the mess! And the Gr employyess are on different pages then the BB employess so there is allways people who will not know what deals they are running. If you get a dumbass employyee ask for the store manager. They should be able to help you more since they have to know about both sides Gr and BB. If you can deal with a little confusion and standiong in line while they find your game for 30 minutes. Its still WAY worth it to trade there. I would go TO GR 9 -10 to trades. Most oif the time you are trading your old crap to get new crap! If you want your old crap to become new to you but still old crap then go to EB. I think there are those people who are set on only going to EB to tared ( for example my brother) We gets rapped in the butt every time he trades at EB. I( just laugh at him go to BLockbuster and they pay me to take the game! ( I allways have money left over for the saem trades my bro just made. He makes them then pays eb. I make them and get paid to take my new game!)

The trade-in prices should be universal across all GR and regular blockbuster stores. The person you spoke to must have been an idiot because at least as of yesterday Hobbit GC still got $20 before any extra deal.

Yesterday I stopped into gamerush and made out really well....I switched my Halo 2 regular to collector's edition...the guy credited my account for 49.99 + tax even though I had only paid 29.99 after coupon for the preorder, and then manually put the collector's edition in at 29.99. He said a lot of people had complained that it doesn't say anywhere that only 49.99 games drop to 29.99 and so they're just doing it for 29.99. He also put in a preorder for me of Paper Mario 2 which had to be manually overridden. The time previously when I had a regular manager, not a game trader try to do it she just said no. This guy was great. I also got to double dip with the $5 extra offer and wound up with $70 credit and no out of pocket money, Halo CE instead of regular, and Paper Mario 2 for trading in 4 games that I paid $35 total. Got 25 each for 2 hobbit GCN, 15 for Re: Dead Aim, and 13 for DX: IW all after the extra $5.

I went out to EB today and bought a couple old PS1 games for 2 each. I figure I'll leave them and my coupons in my car... I figure something good will have to be traded in between now and 11/30.

They will just exchange for another copy of give you the trade in value of it. Madden 2005 is worth $35.

Ok, I only work for a regular BB, NOT a gamerush but I'll tell you what I know. Firstly GR is still in somthing of a testing/rollout phase which is both why you can't find them everywhere and why the pay so much for trades. They do these rollouts by region and so some areas have lots of locations while the rest of the nation has zilch. And since they are still trying to build up a customer base thay pay top dollar on trades. After the stores are all over and people know about them the trade prices will probably drop (this probably won't happen in the foreseeable future though). When I see info about GR I'll post it.

He told me their new deal is you trade in two(or one, I can't remember, sorry) games, you get 20 dollars off new release. I asked him what made a game a new release, and he told me he wasn't sure, but he thought it just meant anything around 49.99. I stupidly forgot to ask if the trade credit was included, but I guess it will since that's how all their other deals worked.

Both deals have their benefits, especially if you can preorder any game in the system (like my store). Right now I'm really glad I preordered all the games I want coming out in the next few months but I have them all and they're locked in. The new deal is great if there's a game already out you want but they have to have it in stock and you don't know how long the deal is going to last.....

just got back from the store on national blvd in los angeles, they had a REALLY limited preorder selection today, probably bc the gamerush workers left for the day so the regular blockbuster workers said i could preorder any of the games on the wall(halo 2, r and c up your arsnel, killzone, pandora tomorrow, need for speed, gta san andreas. , but they didnt even have the limited list. They didnt know about future deals so I am left guessing about future deals

on sepulveda blvd across from fox hills mall in culver city, i was the first to trade games in there, they let me pre order nocturne, which they had to dig out of the computer. They also let you combine the trade 3 get an additional $5 per game, along with the twenty off any preorder and let me use dreamcast and N64 sports games to preorder games like san andreas and nocturne

on venice blvd in west LA, they took loads of copies of drake for $27 each last month :D i think this must have drove the manager bonkers, they have a great selection of used gba games.

on national blvd and barrington, in santa monica
they just seem too have the best selection on older used games as far as NES, N64 and snes. will also let you combine the trade in 2 get twenty off a preorder.

Also can any Gamerush employees explain on how they preorder games? When I went to pick up MK: Deception, the employee told me they put in a delivery code or something like to make sure they get the copy(s) of that game. The only problem is he said that when you preorder a game, the system does not do it automatically, but that the employee has to punch whatever in to make sure the preordered item gets there. He also said that action ties in with on whether or not they call you. Just wanting to know if any employees can confirm on this.

TEXAS CAGers - I hope this isn't true but I was just at the GR in the DFW area where i know the GR Manager and he said the trade in any game and get a new game for 29.99 or less doesnt work! He said it was only for OK, Florida and Chicago and the LA area. He was gonna talk to his manager but i sat there for 20 min while he tried to make it work and it was a no go. Just got back from my local GR in So.Cal. and they combined offers for me! Traded 3 PS1 sports games with the trade 3 PO get 1 Po for $10 coupon then I asked if I would get the extra $3 each for trading 3 at a time and the guy said "oh yeah, that's right" and did it for me. So I got Metal slug 3 on that deal then I traded in 2 games(armed and dangerous-xbox, warioland-gba) to get Paper Mario 2 for 29.99 (20$ off). So Paper Mario is definitely available at GR.

Well to the guys in arlington they dont do the preorder anymore trade 3 for 5$ extra is still valid, went to Greenoaks/Cooper they had trade 2 games get great hits of 2004 for 50% off, they had a section with the label great hits of 2004 and in that section Shrek, psi ops, nfl 2005, and a couple of other craptacular titles. Went to the store on 360/green oaks and lo and behold see 2 of the people from the green oaks/matlock store, made me nervous cause I traded in mult titles at both stores hope they dont check my account for those drakes LOL!! I would be busted. Anyways picked up THUG2 and traded couple games to preorder demon stone for xbox chick from the matlock store seemed like she was in charge cause when they preorder didnt work they called for her and she said no more preorder tradeins but they let me have it since they took my games already. Also she said all they were doing now is 3 for 5$ extra, no preorders no trade in 2 get greatest 2004 hits 50% off either. So 3 stores in arlington has no more preorder tradeins which sucks for me.

I don't want to start an argument, but I read in the newspaper last week that Blockbuster has been in a steady decline since the beginning of this year, so they could easily fold if something doesn't happen since they aren't making as near as much money as they were making. I looked at the chart and it was a pretty steep drop, which is why they got into the gamerush business and why they are trying to get into the online renting. The head man in the paper said that every blockbuster before the end of next year will have a Gamerush in it. They also mentioned two other trading stores that they have, but one is in Europe, and the other I can't remember.

This will pay off in the long run, and even if it doesn't, BB is a HUGE business that won't see a failing Game Rush aspect as a real money hole for them. While at times they may decline, I think they'll reign as movie rental kings for a while. Since Hollywood Video is their only real, big rival around, and not as many people go there to rent movies that I know.

FYI ebgames has Gameday 2004 and NCAA FInal four 2004 for $3. I know for a fact Gamrush gives you $7 for Gameday 2004 and I am assuming $7 for FInal FOur as well.

Order 10 copies of each game= 20X3=$60

Take all 20 games to GameRush $7 each plus $5 credit each is $240

240-60=$180 profit

Only thing is you are gonna need to stop at several GameRush's to take afvatage of this since its a 2 copy limit of each title.

OMG, Game Rush is AWESOME. I traded in two games (Two Towers and FF: Tactics Advance), and some bad DVD's, and got like 107 total dollars added to my account.

With that, I bought STREET FIGHTER 3: THIRD STRIKE for 7 dollars (complete), Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 for the GCN for 6 dollars, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater for the DC for 2 dollars, Midway Arcade Treasures for the GCN for 20 (new), and picked up Paper Mario 2 today.

All of that for like 35 dollars. They also had the "buy one PO, get one half off", incredible deals.

They also had like 3 copies of Marvel vs. Capcom 2 for the DC complete, and Resident Evil 3 for the DC complete, for 7 dollars. I was going to get it, but Marvel vs. Capcom 2 was inside. :(

It seems no one but the people exploiting them are there regular customers which can't be good. Netflix is currently owning them in terms of rental king last article i read. They're not so much the king they used to be.

The "fatwallet coupon" is BS. Someone scanned a copy of their gamerush coupon, it probably expired by now anyway but it clear states on the coupon no reproductions. Only the dumbest of the dumb employees would let you use it.

If you want to find the Blockbuster coupon, try going to the "hot deals" forum at fatwallet. Once at that forum, do a search for Blockbuster and you should easily find the thread(the one with a huge amount of posts). In the first post of the first page of that thread is a link to the coupon. Unfortunately it expires tomorrow so you don't have much time even if your gamerush will accept a printed coupon.

It does indeed say no reproductions on the coupon. Why are some gamerush's taking the coupon? 3 possible reasons I can come up with: 1) The employees are rushed for time and don't want to hold up the line by reading all fine print on the coupon. 2) It's rather difficult to read the fine print on a printed coupon with the orange lettering on the black background, atleast on my cheap Lexmark printer lol. 3)The employees are aware of the fine print but are just willing to help a brother out since the coupon code works the same on a printed coupon.

It sounds like most people here haven't had any luck with it but it's worked for me every time at my local gamerush. I'm intrigued that some people have even went so far as to print an add on the back of the printed coupon to make it look like it was cut from a magazine.

I've only known about the deals at gamerush for about the past month or so but in the short period of time I've been able to aquire a decent amount of used quality titles for $4.99. I've picked up a lot of titles I was interested in: Fable, Tales of Symphonia, Burnout 3, Madden 2005, NCAA 2005, Chronicles of Riddick and probably a couple more I can't think of at the moment.

Question to BB/GR employees about expiring deals....one of the GR's near me told me today over the phone that the preorder deal was still going on....this was a regular employee/manager, not a game trader. Will the coupon barcode still work in the system or has it been completely disabled. Another store confirmed to me that the preorder is over at their location. So basically I want to know if it will still go through, otherwise I'm not going to go and fight for it because I know they'll call the other store if there's a problem and find out it's over.

just came back from GR and got KUF today. the guy didnt know about the deal if you trade in 1 and get a new one for 29.99, so i told him about it and he just did it for me. so he told me to come back and he would hook me up. still thinking if i should get star wars: battlefront and tiger woods pga tour 2005 or fifa 2005. which ones or one should i get?

My Gamerush stores have never even heard of the coupon before so they are really unsure it'll work but when they scan it the coupon works and I got Spiderman 2 which is 39.99 for 4.99 and then the two other games had 50% off. I was using regular print paper and I have a digital subscription to EGM and just printed an article on the back of the coupon but make sure that whatever you print on the backside of the coupon doesn't bleed through or they'll know somethings up. Oh and get this the letters and words on the backside of the coupon were upside down and they still took it :lol:

trade in one get new game for 29.99 is going on in oklahoma city....they also gave me $5 extra for each game so i traded in three old crappy gba games for a total of $30 which includes the $5 extra per game and then got paper mario for 29.99...paid $2.45 tax out the door.....

i live in san dimas and i go to the GR here. but there are also GR near me about 3 or 4 in a 5 mile radius. they ususally have a good deal with games, so i would suggest calling before to see if they have what you want.

lol, the first thing they do at the one I go to is check the disc to make sure it doesn't have scratches but I have rented dvds and games and just got the case, but still you made out well.
