This game is soooo good. It sucks that Kotor2 won't hit PC until February though. Might have to bite the bullet and play it on the xbox.

I'm not sure if you can get it for $10 in store, since the ad says you can only get it for $9.99 if you preorder Halo2 (and that requires a $10 deposit)

It's alot like Baldur's Gate series combat wise. If you haven't played any of those the combat is quasi-real time where you can choose your attacks and they go into a list of commands for you to execute or you can pause combat and issue more thought out attacks. I am not really sure why everyone loves this game so much though, to me it was just BG with a different view and Star Wars theme. It's a decent game but no where near best game xbox has to offer in my opinion.

I've never played Baldur's Gate on the PC, but if you mean the console version of BG, then you're wrong.
BG on the consoles is real time while KOTOR is turn based. They're nothing alike.

I meant pc version.
The Xbox needed another great RPG--one that was more accessible than last year's great but sometimes-bewildering Morrowind--and it's finally here. Those who've played BioWare's computer RPGs--either the Baldur's Gate series or last year's Neverwinter Nights--will recognize the influence of those games on Knights of the Old Republic. In fact, the main difference between the gameplay of Knights and BioWare's previous games is superficial. This one is played from a third-person perspective and thus resembles a 3D action adventure game rather than one of BioWare's older isometric RPGs.
Other than that, gameplay is similar. You create a main character and then explore many different areas, interact with many different characters, settle many different disputes, solve many different puzzles, and engage in plenty of combat. Combat appears to be real-time but actually uses a turn-based system "under the hood" just like Neverwinter Nights, which means your character's statistics and attributes (and your strategy) make all the difference, and your personal reflexes and hand-eye coordination have no bearing on the outcome. Most importantly, Knights is very different from the typical console RPG in that you'll always be an active participant in the storyline, rather than a passive observer. You don't just read, watch, and listen to a lot of text, cutscenes, and dialogue--your character is constantly invited and required to make difficult decisions, and that's ultimately the most entertaining, impressive, and rewarding aspect of the game. from the gamespot review.

If you go today and show them in store on a computer that you can buy it for that price, you should get away with it. CC.com most likely will catch the error by tomorrow afternoon, so tomorrow this deal would be dead both ways.

You have very much the same opinion of this game as some of my friends. they say it's just BG but dressed differently. I still think it is one of the RPGs ever made and the best game on the Xbox.

It has a normal sale sign for $9.99. The sign doesn't mention any pre ordering so it should be good at all CC B&M. I picked it up along with a 1 cent killzone demo :D

Since it's $10 in store, you may be able to get it for $5 by using their competitor's coupon policy (w/ the BB $5 off XBox Live software coupon w/ no minimum).

That review states its reviewing the xbox version.
The play being similar is misleading.
It is comparing the xbox version of kotor to the pc versions of
Biowares previous games.

I can also confirm that the game is $9.99 in store. They had several copies, and they were all marked $19.99 (and all in PH packaging). I took one to the counter, and it scanned at $9.99. Total cost of $10.81. I have been putting off getting this game for a while, and I couldn't resist anymore. Whether I get to play it soon is another question though. I still have a sealed Shenmue II from the TRU green tag sale, and a sealed Wind Waker from Christmas... :)
