Saw this guy trying to sell bootleg copies of Marvel vs. Capcom 2 a week ago, reported to eBay but not sure if they checked up on it, since his auctions last only 1 day. Now he's back with bootleg copies of Star Wars Battlefront. Here's a link:

Is there anything that can be done to prevent this guy from selling his stuff?

keep reporting him. Get in touch with ebay every time you see it, and follow up. Eventually they'll ban him.

Good catch, I just reported the 4 auctions to eBay as well. Maybe if they get a bunch of reports on the same items, they will do something about it.

Doesn't anyone care about this stuff? Honestly if someone can get arrested for downloading a song on the internet, and this person can make money off selling bootlegged games and he doesn't even get cought? What the hell is wrong with this world.

What kind of an idiot would sell a bootleg, on ebay no less?

lol.. put in 'Shrek 2 DVD' and look how many bootlegs come up..

Ehh.. looks like EBay took them down. But most of them were like "Found on a trip to Hong Kong!"

HOw do people like this get away with this sort of thing? It doesn't seem as though Ebay Security really monitors their website unless somebody notifies them of problems. don't they make their own searches for this type of stuff?

Sadly, if you read farther down the description, it also states that shipping is $5. So not only is he trying to sell illegal copies of games but he's also trying to rip the idiots off by overcharging for shipping. I wish eBay would double fuck his sorry ass for that.

$5 isnt ripping some one off for shipping. Its not that bad.

He probably wrote that it's a bootleg so that the people who bid on it will know exactly what they're getting and won't report him. A person who knows that it's a bootleg but still bids on it will be happy just to win the item.

I just sent an email to sony consumer services. Hopefully they'll be able to do something if ebay won't.

Its pretty funny that people are actually bidding on those games. Perhaps someone should email the high bidders.

Someone e-mail George Lucas. If he found out he is losing money I'm sure something would be done.

Call the feds! He's posible using his pritated money to support terroits! GO TO DEFCON 5! Homeland security has been invaded!

No Im playing. I think the people bidding don't know its a bootleg. I don't read game descriptions if they have a pic and
i just look at what shipping is.

If they do know they can get into just as much trouble! They are accepting stolen propety1

So you guys really have nothing better to do than report bootleg auctions on ebay?

I just noticed this thread. It took maybe two minutes of my time. I feel that this is immoral, and is very wrong. Of course I would report someone selling bootlegs on ebay. They are not helping the industry, and the people selling them need to be prosecuted.

I think ebay will be forced to act. As many of us have repoted this user and his auction numbers. I did a serch for him and all his items and listed everyone that was a bootleg auction. He could get a nasty deal out of this one. He at least five counts from just the star wars battlefront auctions.!
